I really wish people understood autistic sensory issues more. I'm getting snap in dentures done soon, because of junk DNA teeth. I have a phobia of the dentist, and it's been an uphill climb in hell between dentists dismissing how I feel and needing to be put under for a SURGICAL PROCEDURE, to friends and family being dismissive and saying I'm "just being a picky brat" (I'm 37, but ok?) because I won't get the full plates that are far cheaper - the "grandma/grandpa" type dentures. I already flip when food is stuck to the roof of my mouth, and not being able to feel it while feeling the pressure of fitted plates would drive me insane. But no, I'm a picky brat for not wasting money to essentially put myself in the same spot I'm in now (only eating once a day, very little food, soft foods only) because I wouldn't be able to deal with them all day. It's so frustrating.
