Well.... Although i have to give some of the comments a little credit, because a good quality offroad tire is a necessity, when approaching such terrain and i guess also should benefit the capabilities of the AWD system, when the tires actually provide a little higher grip level and don't get completely packed with dirt. But i did like the video shots of the AWD System being in action...trying to move the car forward...slowly....but steadily. Usually, you don't see much of it...but here you really could see the rear tires moving independently...and providing the needed forward movement...or at least "push" moments. 👍🏻 And it was pleasing to see, that you don't have to fear a couple of paths, when moving aside the regular roads...and that the AWD System has a bit of potential, when the situation gets a little bit more tricky. ✌🏼 So Thanks for the Video and taking us with you on the journey 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

as a general comment, or even an outcome from many of your videos (and hundreds more on the Internet): whenever in off road situation, use "auto" mode as a minimum setting, and in more demanding situations - go esc-off + lock....even prior than getting stuck or stalling uphill. Trying 2wd in any off road (or any non-asphalt road) scenario is meaningless....just to prove yourself that "you still have the 4wd tool" 😁. So far, I have not pushed my Duster in roads like you did, but I acquired practice of engaging auto mode even in solid macadam forest roads, especially when driving uphill it goes much smoother and I avoid sliding with front tires and letting the stones fly by.

Lock locks the central differential. But what is the advantage of disabling ESC?

@@solitone well...not sure how exactly does it help but it does (check those videos at kzread.info/dash/bejne/nmujmNewabCxqbQ.html&ab_channel=4x4testsonrollers-duszaniespokojnachannel). After reading the explanation of ESC I kinda got the idea: computer tries to control the slippage of each of the 4 wheels by applying brakes individually, BUT all this in order to KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL DIRECTION....which is not precisely what you want when stuck in the mud. In the video (link) the most demanding test is with three wheels on the rollers...and lock+ESC off is the only trim that works (barely).....also, ESC reduces engine power (torque), which btw, I have felt while inducing this function in strong slippery curves (pushed gas pedal but electronics engaged and cut the accelerator). This also is not helpful if you are stuck and want to get out...

This video is not so bad, but it is a bit misleading about the car's capabilities, which are more. If you used new real off-road tires, then you are 100%. You have so many videos that show the same thing. Sorry to criticize you constructively. Saving money on tires is not the way to go.

Salut, as vrea sa imi cumpar un Duster pe benzina si inca nu m-am hotărât daca 4x4 sau 4x2 Voi merge si off-road cu el. E adevarat ca cel de 4x2 daca il folosesti off-road, se duce ambreiajul?

cu gumele alea nu urci nici pe asfalt , pune doua cauciucuri de offroad adevarate pe 2x4 si ii da clasa la 4x4 cu gumele folosite de voi

La minutele 2:30 si 3:35 era interesat sa vedem o plecare din rampa cum se comporta.

Mi spiego meglio, sono orientato a comprarmi la 4x4 ma per arrivare alla mia cascina in montagna, devo fare una salitona di circa 800 metri a pendenze esagerate. Fin'ora l'ho fatta con Pajero o pickup l200, sfruttando le ridotte. L'unica cosa che mi fa credere che il Duster possa farcela, è che un mio conoscente l'ha percorsa con una Evoque... Strada dissestata e nei punti più ripidi ci sono due lingue di asfalto ad aiutare. La farei a pieno carico, quattro persone. Grazie per l'eventuale risposta

@@nicolamorandini627 ciao...non saprei della tua salita a che livello è...qui in sardegna uso il 4x4 per tirare su un 750 kg tra gommone e carrello su scivoli pendenti anche molto...e va su una.bellezza...poi una volta ho fatto un fuori strada che non riuscirei a fare neanche.in mtb😂😂😂😂..un po mi è dispiaciuto perche.cosi nuova l ho gia stirata...ma si.comporta molto.bene...e.anche provata di fronte casa in spiaggia..in inverno senza.nessun bagnante camminavo sulla.spiaggia senza problemi😂😂💪💪..non.so.se posso esserti stato d aiuto..ciao

@@DusterCoolTravels Ce MT-uri ? Pentru duster exista at sau mt legale cu dimensiunea din carte pe 65 ? Vad ca ale tale sunt pe 70. Care ar fi cea mai echilibrata varianta ? Set de roti vara + iarna si lanturi in portbagaj sau niste at-uri ? AT-uri exista care se descurca la fel ca anvelopele de iarna (pe timp de iarna) ? Am pus ca multe intrebari insa vreau sa imi iau duster prima generatie si vreau sa ma informez sa fac o alegere ok financiar. Multumesc.

@@mangreek9975 am găsit mt uri cu dimensiunea 215/65 r16. Au dimensiunea legală . A-T uri care sa se comporte pe zăpada ca niște anvelope de iarna nu o sa găsești. Cel mai Ok ar fi anvelope de iarna + A-T uri dacă faci offroad mai mult. Plus ceva lanțuri pentru anvelopele de iarna, eventual și pt at uri. Posibil sa găsești A-T cu dim 65, nu știu sigur. Majoritatea au 70.
