Hey Ari, a little clarification. Hunan is a Chinese province. Yunnan is also another Chinese province. So yes, you have seen Hunan at times but it was simply referring to another place with another type of regional Chinese cuisine. Jay's English is pretty good for a guy who's only been here for just a few years, but he is not a native English speaker nor is he an interpreter like me. As an interpreter, I not only have to convey the information accurately to another language, but I also have to be a cultural broker as well, such as in this case. I hope this helps! So my utmost respect and admiration for you and Jay for marrying each other. Cross cultural marriage has a lot of potential for misunderstanding in many ways. It takes a lot of love, patience and understanding.

If I were Jay and Ari, for this kind of videos, I would put the English title first then the Chinese one to attract more of the English reader, to introduce more of the Chinese food and culture to the west. It’s good for Chinese audiences to know that some open minded westerners do appreciate Chinese food and culture. I think it’s more important that more westerners have the opportunity to learn more of the positive side of the Chinese food and culture.

I just love the vibes this video gives out. I'm what the mainland Chinese might call a "sea turtle". I was born and raised outside of China so when I was young, I had this existential struggle between my extremely Chinese heritage and my western style upbringing. It's comforting for me at least to see the synergy that your family and your Chinese husband have and I am so happy to learn of the new life that will be joining your beautiful family soon. I love how your parents are enjoying their time with their Chinese son in law. I have always felt that western parents had the raw end of the deal because kids tend to, for a lack of a more better word, abandon them after they grow up. It sounds negative and for that I do apologize and would like to clarify that I don't mean it with malice. As Chinese, we tend to dote on our parents and parents in law. It's this filial thing and it's traditionally accepted that the kids stay with their parents even after they get married in direct contrast to the norms of westerners where it's looked on with disdain kids who "stay in their parents' basements". Hope mom and pops enjoy the experience and do bring them to China for a vacation sometime. I think they would love it there. Keep up the amazing videos. P.S. You have amazing, lovely parents. Do take good care of them as I do see that you are the apple of their eye.
