Not to mention that Pulmozyme is actually used for other diseases like Pulmonary Fibrosis - it’s off shelf because it is made for CF, but used for other diseases. But YESSSS it must be refrigerated. But yeah it’s very accurate about the lung transplant “look and sounds” a bit exaggerated but yes, the gasping is accurate. I do have this thing where I gasp for air, but when I’m talking I also feel like I don’t have enough air to finish sentences and I force the words out with the last bit of air!

  • @Lifelungsandlaughter

I totally agree, they're making lots of mistakes left right and centre and many shows will make awful mistakes on multiple shows. But we have to look at what this it as what it is, it is a TV Show. They are not trying to be factually correct. They were not creating a medical documentary designed to show the real life ramifications of living life with CF. The job of the directors is to create medical drama, not medical documentary. The thing is, they are actors, it's a show, they can't get everything right and they are not saying that they are attempting to make a entirely factual programme. So let's look at it as a way to give some information about CF and entise them to find out more... The amount of medical dramas that are made by people without any medical training everyday, there's going to be mistakes. The main thing is though, the overall scene gives a fairly good introduction to what CF patients deal with which is all the average person. Yes the details such as central lines, NIV, breathing treatments are missing and of course the dornase issue. I totally agree, they're making lots of mistakes left right and centre and they are not trying to be factually correct. If they were they would be creating a medical documentary nk ashowing the real life ramifications of living life with CF. The thing is, they are actors, it's a show, they can't get everything right and they are not saying that they are attempting to make a entirely factual programme. So let's look at it as a way to give some information about CF and entise them to find out more...

Lizzie Cottrell no. He still has CF because he still has the digestive issues plus, it’s in his genes. Getting new lungs doesn’t change his gene pool. So I have a thought for the person saying that there are doctors that help to write Grey's episodes. I want you to take a second to think about how many diseases, conditions, problems etc. that a doctor can have as their expertise. I highly doubt that every doctor knows every single condition and each detail of them. They may be doctors, but maybe they don't specialize in the area of CF. To question whether they know more than someone who has lived this condition their whole life vs someone who has maybe studied it just doesn't seem like a fair comparison in my mind and opinion. They may have insight and it's great that they use actual doctors, but I think Morgan knows a little more about what he goes through daily. Just a thought 😊 I'm happy he's giving constructive criticism to hopefully help portray CF in a more realistic manor. Thanks for all you do Morgan!

Even not being a medical student or anything like that I could tell this show was inaccurate on so many levels XD. I stopped watching it after season 2 because it was portraying so many illnesses poorly that I couldn't take it anymore! (Plus those back and forth romances were driving me up the wall)

I need you to react to a full Grey's episode, I love this series you've done way too much for it to be over and Morgan commentary is EVERYTHING. I love Grey's anatomy but it for sure is crap on a stick.

I’m a ga fan but I also know the feeling of the ga messing up a condition. I have osteogenesis imperfecta’s and in the show one of the couples gets pregnant and they find out the baby has oi and they see it as a death sentence and the baby dies within 24hs of birth. Totally unrealistic while bring some awareness to the condition it also makes people think no one can survive with it so why pay any attention to it.

if i’m not mistaken their baby had type II which is often lethal to babies around/shortly after birth. though i wish they would have portrayed it differently, i didn’t know it was horribly inaccurate. please let me know if i am wrong, i’d love to learn more. :)

it would be dump for the show to be 100 % accurate bc it would take too much time. Also the main plot would not work at all but at the same time its funny to see the things they do wrong. Main point of greys is the feels/drama so i think they did good job at that at least.

He's being super picky about the pulmozyne not being refrigerated but in 5 feet apart he's not bugged by the fact that the girl doesn't have a clave on the end of her port? haha

Mandy Schaan Upon my second viewing, I also found that FFA committed the Pulmozyne sin! Hahah. I’ll be getting into that when I do a full breakdown.

I have CF and I love these scenes so much! I have never been on oxygen, had an IV, a port, an operation, a feeding tube etc I am only on creon 10,00 and I am so well! I understand I am very lucky and extremely well compared to most People with CF but everyone story is different! If someone made a film of my life it would get so much hate because “it’s not realistic” everyones story is different.
