Full live stream of the Cyr Dumbbell Strategic Challenge at the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic in Columbus, Ohio. Athletes will have 90 seconds to make as many dumbbell attempts as they choose with various weights ranging from 274 to 330 pounds.
Rogue’s complete coverage of the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic will be live on KZread and the Rogue Index from March 6-7. 10 strongmen will compete in 6 events over 2 days for the title of Arnold Strongman Classic Champion. Rogue’s coverage will also include daily episodes of the Rogue Iron Game show featuring guests from the worlds of Strongman, Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, and CrossFit. We will also be streaming the full 2020 Rogue Record Breakers competition and the IWF Rogue World Challenge.

    I think Kieliszkowski plan was to go 300, 320 then 330 as he has done 330 in training. But he messed up on his first lift unfortunately. He still ended up with the record but, damn, Thor was close on the 330.

    @Edwin Bar I agree. The last event and end of day 2 of hard competition takes its toll on even the best. If the guys were fresh I would have expected higher numbers here.

    Mateusz is 26 years old and is the second guy behind 31 year old Hafthor who is in his prime right now. Just like Hafthor was just a step below Shaw and Savickas when he was ~26 and those guy were in their prime. If Mateusz stays injury free I think he has a great shot of becoming the top guy sooner or later, but then again Big Z won his last worlds strongest man at 40. And Lichis is still a threat for that top spot even though he was a bit off here... The sport is really fun right now

    Mateusz is not really a step below though. He beat Thor in 4 out of the 6 events. It's just that his deadlift is horrible. If he had a better deadlift he would win comfortably.

    When Mateusz gets a 900 deadlift he has the key to winning the whole thing. Thor and Mateusz have different strengths and weaknesses. The problem is Thor is strong at all of Mateusz best events while Mateusz hasn’t closed the chasm between his deadlift and Thor’s

    As the commentator said - Thor has the build of a perfect strongman, almost mythical. The fact that Mateusz beats him in all but one event for me is just a testament to how amazing his is. Your time will come Mateusz! You’re the best

    yeah if Thor has a weight of Mateusz he won't win. It's amazing Mateusz is somthing like 40kg lighter and still bit Thor in 4 events

    Kailan Phillips Thor beat him clearly in deadlift and bag, stone carry were only a few seconds, Dumbbell is Thor only 10 pounds behind Mateuz, timber carry and Whell of pain were Mateuz really faster but he is not dominant...

    Mateusz performed really well! He's gonna get some more podium in the future Arnolds and WSM for sure. YET I really appreciate Hafthor to continue lifting even after he got the chip. He is the strongest no doubt, I am sure he will get the 501

    @@AleX-fs4ww I agree. But I think he needs to wait a few more years because it looks like Thor is going to dominate the next couple of years also Licis is a good competitor too. Maybe Mateusz can get a WSM title in the next 5 years but he needs to improve his deadlift otherwise he is just gonna lose 1-2/5 event in every competition.

    @@ula17404 As a powerlifter and a fan of the strongmen sport, I am totally disagree with the fight. They are lifters, not fighters. I know they're going to earn good money from the fight but as you said Thor is in his peak and now he is training for boxing... Eddie is already retired so no bothers for his side. Personally I rather see them competing in WSM 2021 than a nonsense boxing match. Sponsors treat them as animals there is no need to solve a beef in the ring.

    Feels bad seeing Mateusz losing after winning 4/6 events and breaking 2 world records, but Bjornsson is probably the best overall strongman ever, the guy has no weaknesses. Anyway, in my opinion breaking world records should have given you at least 1 extra point. (1000 dollars is not a respectful reward ,at all)

    If world records mattered Thor would have done a wr on the bag over bar and matched Mateusz' 320 dumbell press. Thor almost got the 330. He would have definitely gotten 320. It makes no difference.

    @@tyrrant1374 Thor did what he needed to do to win. He could have gone for the wr at bag over bar. He could have gone for a new wr elephant bar deadlift and he almost got the record for the Cyr dumbell. He could have tied Mateusz easily at 320 lbs. Mateusz was strong and amazing, Thor was just better.

    Mateuz had the best form, explosiveness and speed. If he won the deadlift event, he could have won the title. Congrats Thor! 3 time Arnold Strongman Classic champion! wow!

    @@armwrestlingfan6804 Mateusz lost by 2.5 points. In deadlift he got 8th so he would need 5th place. Kearney got 5th with 921lbs. Mateusz got 886lbs. It looks close but it really wasnt.

    Mateusz showed on his last two lifts how much a difference technique makes. He literally pushed his body down sideways to get that arm extension.

    It took way to much time to bring the dumbbells to the competitors. The clock should have been halted after each successful repetition and then on again when it's in front of them.

    Big Z isn't human. He was doing crazy lifts in the IFSA comps while other strong men were doing WSM. In my personal opinion Big Z still has the world record deadlift at 1155lbs with the superwheels.

    This entire competition is dangerous lifting incredibly heavy weights puts tremendous stress on your body which is why these guys are always injured, they know what they’ve signed up for

    Watch had Thor’s channel and the stuff he does there and what he lifts is amazing. No doubt he is the worlds strongest man but being that size has really impacted his endurance in the wheel etc

    Jeeeesus...how do people not get it. It's not how many events you win, it's by how much you win. If you only just beat the guy in those events but then tbat guy trashes you in other events, you are going to lose.

    @@davidkymdell452 he does, but I think when pronouncing in a non-icelandic accent bjornsson is better because it makes it clear that the name is icelandic, where beerson isnt actually right either when pronounced without an icelandic accent.

    I'm impressed with Martins. He didn't perform like this when he trained with Thor, felt weak afterwards back home etc. Mateusz AND Mischa are the people champions. Thor needs to work on his grip and push some cars uphill to get better. Trained so much on the Cyr dumbbells I was getting bored... but he did SO well. Congrats!

    As a mateusz fan, this was amazing to watch. Definitely sucked to see him lose the competition despite winning 4 of the 6 events. All came down to the deadlift

    I was at the event and let me tell you the energy was crazy in the crowd during the strongman event regardless of how few people and how many MP seats there were we were allowed for every athlete I was screaming at the top of my lungs and so were so many other fans! I started the chant Martins Martins Martins! And people started chanting it along with me

    @@fitwisetv6419 yeah but last year they did deadlifts first and all the guys were fresh last year. This year they were all extremely fatigued because last year licis deadlifted 970 lbs this year he only got 906 and he failed 961 lbs

    Cyr lifted this cold, he pressed it clean, in other words, he didn't bend his knees, he pressed it so that shows much more strength that what is being done here, without any juice.

    I don't understand how people are saying mateusz should have won, consistency is what matters. Deadlifts are a staple of strongman comps, if your deadlift is comparatively weak do you really deserve to win? Thor is the best all-round strong man.

    @@y2kv1 He already finished 2nd before that in ASM 2019. And here he finished 3rd despite his injury. Licis is no joke and his WSM win was no fluke. Even an uninjured Thor would have had a hard time beating Licis in the events that made up WSM 2019.
