Cypher System Monsters, and how they work! - Monte Cook Games
Ойындар
It's my mission to teach the basics of the Cypher System to as many people as possible. A while ago I talked about how to play the game, now I give some insight on how monsters are an incredibly important part to telling a story.

Thanks! And welcom!
Regular movement is immediate, meaning moving less thanks 3 meters and attacking in the same round without checks. Short movement is the next movement category and it means moving less than 15 meters and attacking in the same round without an extra check. So it feels right to me for a deinonychus to have short movement.

Yeah, in my fantasy they are always incredibly fast

So that ups it to long distance movement, meaning just short of 30 meters of movement and attacking in the same round. That's fast!
Thanks
Was glad give some tips, although you're missing the most important part of the Skeletal Dragon, the intrusions! Also there's no U, so Qedhup is pronounced like "Ked-Hup" ;) I agree the bite and claw extras are not needed. I only included them because you wanted all the 5e stuff converted over. So I figured I'd include it so you could pick and choose. I'd normally personally give the base attack stats for damage, but then offer a couple of possible modifications to the attacks.

Thanks! And yes the intrusions are certainly coming.
Who was the KZreadr that helped you with the creature? Would like to check out their channel.

Undead stuff typically has a weakness to holy stuff. How would you describe that?

Good question! If it had armor I’d say ‘exect from holy damage’ or something like that.

For me, this would be where a Player Intrusion might come into play. Powers are nebulous enough to complicate "holy power" description.
Was hoping this would be more about how to do conversions from 5e to Cypher. The video was great but unfortunately, it didn't teach me how to fish - it just showed me the fish you caught. I'd love to see an actual video teaching how to do that conversion.

I’ll be making that video, like I said near the end

@@MrTarrasque awesome! Like I said, I enjoyed this one. Looking forward to more. Cypher is a hidden gem that needs to be exposed to all.

I find that the difference between systems rather complicates any conversions. I build against a base NPC concept of a Level 2 "normie." I prefer to root the creation in the world rather than in opposition to the PCs - so that I understand all that it might be doing when the PCs encounter it. Doing a rebuild against the "normie" L2 NPC is how I compare against a 1HD "peasant" in DnD. This might or might not help. I use this method when bringing in anything from fiction which I find more useful.
How do you get the discount?

How to scale with player level?
