    In Europe, those bumper reflectors are rear fog lights. That's why they're hollow like that. North America doesn't require vehicles to have rear fog lights. They should in my opinion.

    Awesome. Just bought a 2022 Crosstrek. Hopefully it's all the same. Thanks for the video. Edit: I finally got around do doing this and it works great. Its no longer a $45 project though.its about $60-65 or $165 if you dont own a Dremel. Thank you very much for this video. It would have taken me a lot longer if i had to figure out the wiring myself.

    Just finished this up myself today, worked great! On the passenger side, there is a rubber plug that faces outwards toward the bumper (horizontally). Perfect for routing wires through. You can see it at 22:28 in the middle left of the screen (just to to the left of the blue wire stripper handle). Easy to get to from underneath too. I couldn't use the holes in the video with my curt hitch installed.

    I think other country requirements (EU/Germany) would be for the red fog lights to be located in this location. It is also quiet possible that the wiring for those lights are already on the loom and hidden within the rear of the vehicle. It is cheaper to make one wiring harness for the vehicle than have eight different looms to meet eight different country requirements.

    Great video. I'm deaf though and I feel like I missed something about the harness? When you spliced it all together, it looks like you have two trailer harnesses? (Two green wires). I'm still a little confused on that part. The black wires, I get. Just the extra colored wires threw me off. Think you could clarify on that please?

    Great video on the installation. I have a couple of questions. Did you use the RED version of the LED bulbs, I think they would work the best as all their light output would pass the red lens filter. Do you think adding some aluminum reflective tape on the inside of the housing would help light the upper part of the lens?

  • @subarustu7716

    @subarustu7716

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes I used red output leds . The lower part is actually a different section blocked off but im sure you could dermel that off and let light through.
