I added a HF cargo basket ($90) to the roof,(when needed...easy on/off) cheaper than the "big boys", but still rated 150#. Also put LED low-beams in for $30 (Auxito) and rubber "diamond" style door sills from HF (easy mod). 4x$3 self stik. "Cupeez" door hndl protectors ($30). A back-seat organizer from Galls keeps small items secure...$30 for police-type (hangs on head-rest). My '22 6MT is a base model that I've improved with JBL speakers/sub as well, and some "light" cosmetic tweaks......Just came back from Tampa, this car drove perfectly at 75 mph most of the way on I95 to NYC...2500 miles...31 mpg. With A/C on the whole way!

It's crazy how much more an entry level car is in the United States. The Subarus hold their value well there and that'll still cost less to fill than here.

Ah, a fellow Connecticut-plate Crosstrek! Fun stuff! I didn't realize they changed the shape of the center console lid/armrest, but it looks like the interior part where that tray drops in is the same. I also have a receiver with the overkill weight capacity, though with a different brand. It's nice to have the larger opening in the receiver since it's easier to adapt down if an attachment isn't the right size. I have a bike holder thing that wouldn't have fit a smaller one.

Hey we actually have a lot of the same modifications, I also recommend adding led strips underneath the footwell (using permanent outdoor double sided tape), people loooove it and always comment on it. Also recommend getting an AAWireless dongle to plug into the usb port, it gives you androidauto wireless (if you use android) and it frees up your phone to to be fast charged directly from the cigarette lighter port.

thanks for the video, Felix! i hope to pick up my '22 Premium 6MT next weekend -- already have several of the mods you've listed, waiting to be installed. one thing worth mentioning... if you opt for the auto-dimming mirrors, i think the light sensor is on the back of the rear-view mirror, on the passenger side... so mounting a dash cam there would block it. i'm mounting mine on the driver's side, because the SD card slot would face toward me for easier removal anyway... :) again, great video, appreciate the tips!

Thanks for the tips! I bought mine a few months ago. I find it a fun little car to drive and I like the feel of it. 2 things I regret and did not consider before purchasing is that it does not have an auto lift gate option nor any way to add a handle inside. If you are car camping, you can’t use the back to get out. Huge deal for me as I had an auto one inside at the lift gate, one upfront by the steering wheel and also in my remote key in my previous car so I was spoiled. My previous car was a 2004 and I just assumed in all these years that it would be standard and a safety option as well. I was wrong. The other is thing is not a not as significant nor hindrance of operation but the horn is annoying, lol. I think twice about sounding it off as I’m embarrassed by it…just a personal thing.

The cables (or very possibly my phones) get where they don't want to run Android Auto and I have to keep messing with the connection. 8:49 "TOO-lee" I'm on the fence between the Crosstrek and the Impreza 5-door, the Impreza having an advantage in that it is lower for access to the roof carrier and higher fuel economy ratings, and the lower MSRP is a big plus, and I like the Impreza color palette better, but the Crosstrek just seems more versatile overall. I would definitely go for the heavier-duty carrier bars. My tandem bike is an old-school model (Santana Elan, 1987-model), comes in about 50 pounds. A rear carrier turns your bikes into your back bumper. When I go in for the test drive I'll have to carry two dog kennels sized for my medium-size (50-pound) dogs. Subaru offers a number of pet safety accessories

For the modest increase in price for the 'trek you will see significant upgrades. Alot of the stuff you see on the mid trim imprezas are standard on the trek. If you look at the crosstrek as a trim package for the impreza and price it out that way, you will probably wind up going with the trek. Plus it looks way better, but that's just my opinion.
