I had a problem with cooking and using my stove when I was out in my Land Rover Defender.
I decided to design and build a solution to this problem. Using some basic metal work skills I have made a fold up aluminium. Cutting, drilling and riveting are as difficult as it gets.
I made a KZread film about which stove I was going to use.

I am embarking on a series of projects based around my Land Rover Defender. I feel the need for some adventure and taking the truck overland is a great starting point. I am designing and building some modifications to help me with living out of my Defender for a few days. I'm not backpacking the kit so weight is not a problem but it does need to be compact as fitting out the limited space for a camping, van life experience in the small amount of room could be a problem to solve.
I love a project, the idea, the potential, the frustration, the challenge. I relish the chance to learn and build my skills. I am an educator by profession and love to do that, share my passion and try to inspire you to take on the challenge. It doesn't matter if it wasn't what you wanted when you started, you started and learnt something along the way.
Share the love.
Never give up!

The word brilliant is not typically used in the right context, but this is the right context!

Thank you very much. I’ve got a batch of videos to put together over the next couple of months. I also do a lot of 3D printing and electronic design that I might put on this channel. Not sure about mixing up the channel. Thanks again.
This is a fantastic project. Now I want to try to do something with metal myself. Always stuck to wood because it seemed more approachable to me.

Thanks for taking the time to write a comment. If you've got woodwork skills you've got metal work skills, in many ways metal it's easier. Give it a go! Make a short film and post what you made. Thanks again.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. It has got a lot busier in the last few days! I've got a few more videos planned for the next couple of months. Starting with making protective padded cases from a camping mat and tape. Cheers my friend 👍😁

Thank you very much for your kind words and support. :) I used the aluminium because it is easy to work with, light weight and I already had a load left over from a previous project. I am making more videos. At the moment I am making a 'macro photography rig' using my GoPro camera. I need to film some close up stuff for a future project. You have inspired me to keep going, thanks again.
