CSX Seaboard System Finale Locomotive Tour 1989
This video documents CSX Transportation locomotives sighted at various CSXT yards in December of 1989. What makes this video so unique is the vast quantity of Seaboard System Railroad locomotives we were able to catch on our year end system-wide locomotive trip. There are also countless early-stage CSX locomotives on this video that you simply cannot see anyplace else. This is what the railroad looked like at the end of the 1980's long before the Dash-9 and the AC revolution of the 1990's began. You will see locomotives on location at Lima, Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio, Winchester, Ravenna and Corbin, Kentucky, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as Cartersville and Atlanta, Georgia. We bring you 'classic' CSX featuring plenty of predecessor road paint schemes up to and including the newest C40-8 and SD60 locomotives. i used to sleep in my car at CSX’s Radnor yard in Nashville. i would give anything to be able to be there back in 1989 with all those old EMD’s idling me to sleep 👍
This entire series you did of the Dec '89 tour is fantastic. It visually records history of the CSX. I am confident it will one day be greatly treasured. Love the "Uceta Geep" GP16 locomotives as well as all the paint schemes clear back to the black/yellow Seaboard Coast Line and the L&N. You had a lot of foresight to record this. Thank you very much for doing so.
