CSX Seaboard System Finale Locomotive Tour 1989 - Part 2

This video documents CSX Transportation locomotives sighted at various CSXT yards in December of 1989. What makes this video so unique is the vast quantity of Seaboard System Railroad locomotives we were able to catch on our year end system-wide locomotive trip. There are also countless early-stage CSX locomotives on this video that you simply cannot see anyplace else. This is what the railroad looked like at the end of the 1980's and we are proud to bring it to you. You will see locomotives including the GE U-Boat collection and MATE Slugs as well as rebuilt GP16's on location at Tilford Yard in Atlanta, Georgia, Macon and Cordele, Georgia. We then explore the vast CSX rail network of Central Florida including Tampa, Rockport, Bradenton, Winston Yard in Lakeland and the Mulberry headquarters for the large scale phosphate operation. We bring you 'classic' CSX featuring plenty of predecessor road paint schemes up to and including the newest C40-8 and SD60 locomotives. If you like watching the early stages of CSX, then this video is for you.

Let's see, early June 1980 the 7000 series just came out. I was fortunate enough to ride from Waycross Rice yard out the bowline, left turn at Dupont and down the AR main on the way back down to Tampa's Yeoman yard.

It sure beats looking at wide cabs all day. Man I miss these units.

I think that csx should incorporate seaboard system and family lines and seaboard coast line in thier fleet of engines today it would be nice to see those old fallen flags in the mix.
