Just for clarification, Voldemort's goal was to have a 7 part soul, 6 horcruxes plus the soul that exists inside of him. The reason he wanted this is because 7 is the most magical number. You see it pop up throughout the whole series, 7 Weasley siblings, 7 positions on a Quidditch team, and 7 years at Hogwarts. Harry already destroyed the diary, Dumbledore destroyed the ring, and Ron destroyed the locket in this movie. So yes, there are three left for them to destroy in the next movie.

A little information for Jake (assuming he didn't know). Dumbledore was OP irrespective of him possessing the elder wand. Grindelwald possessed the elder wand and he went against Dumbledore in a battle long ago. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald (who had the elder wand in his possession). So Dumbledore was always OP.

One thing I really like about Harry Potter is that Harry actually isn’t even a super powerful wizard. he’s definitely above average but he’s not close to the level of Dumbledore/Voldemort. The only reason he has a chance against voldemort is his mother’s sacrifice and voldemort believing he must kill harry personally

12:36 I have to tell you, the moment Hedwig dies in the books... just like that... She has so much more character in the books than in the movies too, and in that moment as I read it, I put the book down and sobbed. This was a character by Harry’s side from the start of the book series, even before Ron and Hermione, so for years Hedwig had always been there with Harry, even in quiet moments alone. I was the same age as Harry through the series. I got the book as soon as it went on sale, in line and everything, so at that moment I also felt like so many other people must be experiencing the same feeling around the world... It was the first time I truly felt the weight of a childhood being ripped away. That nothing lasts forever, and if someone as pure and innocent as Hedwig could die so horribly (and so early in the book)... it was difficult to pick up the book and keep reading, with that moment at the very beginning.

The scene in the beginning with Hermione sets the tone of the movie. There are deleted scenes you can find on KZread. There is one with Harry and Petunia. She is standing in an empty livingroom when Harry walks in on her. She was saying how it wasn't fair to ask her to move over night. Harry says it isn't safe for them. She turns and stops him. "You think I don't know what they're capable of? You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow. I lost a sister." Always gives me chills.

What Harry thinks and feels about Dobby in the books, especially during his burial is very touching. In the book and in the deleted scene in Deathly Hallows part 1 Ron tells Harry that he found out that the reason so many wizards wouldn't say Voldemort's name for so many years is because during the first war before Harry was born there was a curse attatched to his name. Whenever someone was bold enough to utter the Dark Lords name out loud then Deatheaters would come and attack. By the time Harry, Ron and Hermione go looking for horcrux the curse returned. That is why Deatheaters came looking for the at the coffee shop at the beginning of the movie. I think it was Hermione that said Voldemort's name. And when that is also why Luna's father said Voldemort's name. He knew the Deatheaters would come. 🗣💀💥🙊

Also Luna dad mentions Voldemorts name and I personally believe that's why the death eaters came smashing up his place because they turn up anywhere someone mentions the Voldys name as it alerts them they aren't scared of Voldemort and most likely on HP side so they show no mercy. That's why her dad's then panicking as he's stepping out and is like he's here he's here basically don't kill me I have Harry

Hermione knows how to make and destroy horcruxes. At the end of the last one after Dumbledore's funeral, she pointed her wand out of her dorm window towards Dumbledore's office and said Accio Horcrux books. The books flew out of his window to her. She read about ways to destroy them. She says only something more powerful than the horcrux can destroy them. She says Fiend Fyre is a sure way to destroy them, but she dare not produce it, because it's very dangerous. You'll see how dangerous.

It must be so confusing without reading the books XD Here are some interesting facts about The Secrets of Dumbledore: 1. Dumbledore's sister Ariana was attacked by muggles for doing magic when she was six. This traumatized her so much, that since then she could not control her powers at all. She was not allowed in Hogwarts and was kept hidden at home for everybody's safety. This is why Mr. Dumbledore attacked the muggles and was sent to Azkaban, where he later died. 2. Bathilda's nephew Gellert Grindelwald befriended Albus, because they were equally exceptional in magic. They bonded over racist ideals thinking that wizards should rule muggles and they also searched together for the Deathly Hallows. 3. Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother, felt that Albus was not taking care of Ariana and he didn't like Grindelwald. So the three boys had a fight that escalated into a duel. On top of that, Ariana was stressed out and had an uncontrolled magic burst. In the chaos, she was hit by a death curse. Nobody knew whose spell hit her, but Aberforth blamed Albus, even broke his nose during the burial. 4. Grindelwald became really strong because of the elder wand and terrorized muggles. The only one who stood a chance against him was Dumbledore, so they fought and this is how Dumbledore won the wand. 5. The poison that Dumbledore drunk at the end of The Half-Blood Prince was reminding him his darkest memories and the whole tragedy with his sister. Similarly, in the first movie there was the mirror that reveals the deepest desires, Dumbledore said he saw warm socks, but he was lying, in reality he saw his sister alive. 6. By the time Dumbledore died, Bathilda was really old and Rita Skeeter took advantage of her mental stage. Rita gave Bathilda truth serum to get the whole story about the Dumbledore family, she also took photos and incriminating letters that Bathilda had. Rita's book was written without context as if she was trying to destroy Dumbledore's reputation.

Love your reactions 😍 HP, LOTR, GOT, the Holy trinity. Dobby’s death is so sad, but it hits even harder in the books. Unlike the movies where he only appears in the 2nd and this one, he appears more regularly in the books. He gets a job in the Hogwarts kitchens and becomes the first elf to have a salary. It’s below minimum wage but he saves money and buys Harry a pair of really nice socks for Christmas (that have a golden snitch print), whereas Harry didn’t think about Dobby. He is also the one who finds Harry the gillyweed in Goblet of Fire that allows Harry to breathe under water and he is the one who discovers the Room of Requirement in Order of the Phoenix. Harry takes Dobby for granted in the books and even finds him a bit annoying at times, but Dobby looks up to Harry like a God and is eternally devoted and loyal to him. When he dies saving Harry and his friends, it’s even sadder because he was so innocent and Harry feels crushed with guilt for having taken him for granted and not appreciating him enough while he was around.

Hermione grabbed it and stuffed it into her bag, because there's another portrait in the Dumbledore's office. And you know how they move between their portraits. The reason Kreacher was acting differently towards Harry than he did to Hermione is because Sirius not only left Grimauld Place (the former headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix) to Harry in a will but Harry also inherited Kreacher as well. As a result Kreacher is magically bound to obey Harry. Harry never freed Kreacher because Dumbledore asked Harry not to due to Kreacher knowing way to much about The Order of the Phoenix secret group. When Harry found out about Regelus Black being R.A.B Kreacher told Harry about how Regelus use to be a Deatheater during the first war. But one day Regelus found out that Voldemort was using his favorite house elf to experiment on when he was creating the evil magical defenses in the cave where the Slytherin locket was originally located. When Kreacher told Harry about how he was tortured by Voldemort and how Regelus sacrifice himself to save Kreacher, Harry felt sorry for Kreacher to the point that he gifted Kreacher the fake Slytherin locket that use to belong to Regelus. From that moment on Kreacher changed his attitude not only towards Harry but he began to be kind to Hermione and Ron as well. 📿🪄

Well done, Jake! Another wonderful and emotional movie reaction! In the beginning of the movie, Hermione slightly modified her parents' memories in the book and sent them to another country for their safety. Loosing Dobby got me well and good in the book and the movie, so emotional for me too. Why did JK Rowling put that in the story? From what I've read about that scene, she wrote in the book about Dobby' death; JK Rolwing didn't just throw his death in there to keep us emotionally distraught. His horrific/tragic death at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange was a necessary addition to the story. Why? In the book Dobby always watched over Harry from a distance, making sure that he was safe and helped him when he needed it most; of course, Harry was always happy to see Dobby, however, he often took Dobby for granted. Dobby's death in this story gave Harry a whole new appreciation for our beloved, loveable, free elf. Jake, you are spot on about Draco, first you knew he could not kill Dumbledore in the last movie, and yes, Draco does know it's Harry but based on what he has witnessed at the beginning of the movie, Voldemort killing that Professor Burbage in front of his Death eaters. Draco silently knows that Harry has to live in order to remove him and his family from the services of Voldy. Draco now knows that under Voldemort his family will forever be servants to him or Voldy will set up his family as a bad example to the other death eaters; either way it is a losing battle. Well, that was my perception when I read the book. Vody STOLE Dumbledore's wand, it's not like he earned it but wait a moment Jake, let's remember the story about the three brothers and what Luna's dad said to Harry, Ron, and Hermione that having all of the three Deathly Hallows in their possession, that would make the wizard or witch a master of death. Voldy has only stole one Deathly Hallow, he does not have the resurrection stone, and he does not have the Cloak of invisibility. Does having the elder wand really make Voldy a powerful wizard? Things are looking bad, you say, I agree with you, but not everything appears as it seems. There are a lot of interesting things, and plot twists in this one and more in the part 2 movie, too. I am looking forward to watching more! Peace. ☮

The movie doesn't mention that Ron and his Dad set up a plan to protect the Weasley family as well once he left with Harry. They had a ghoul in the attic that they disguised as Ron with a disfiguring and extremely contagious disease to explain why he wasn't at Hogwarts. When Death Eaters came to check they wouldn't get close enough to see any difference. Umbridge has no idea who the locket belonged to or what it is. She also isn't technically working *with* Voldemort and the Death Eaters but she does like the power to persecute others she considers beneath her that the new "Minister" has given her. In all her preparations the only thing Hermione the planner forgot was non-perishable food. Dobby's first and last words on the series..Harry Potter.

A fact that always breaks me about Dobby's death is that his first words in the series were "Harry Potter" and the last ones also being "Harry Potter". He did everything for his friend as Harry was the most important in Dobby's life. Harry made him promise never try to save his life again. As soon as he does he is sacrificed. So sad 😭 And nowww prepare for THE EPIC FINAL. 🔥

43:20 The scene where the snatchers turn up in the forest is very different from how it was in the book. It's not super clear in the movie how the snatchers ended up finding them, but after Ron had left, Hermione at one point tied her scarf to a tree, probably as a signal to Ron that they had left. This is why the snatchers were there - you can see the main guy fidgeting with the scarf when he says "Hello beautiful...".

Just a thought to avoid copyright... no copyright breeches when you're only talking about it! 😊 Edit: If you didnt notice, Hermione's mother also plays Catelyn Stark in GoT!

Hermione's parental obliviate charm has specific magical reasons; assuming the deatheaters knew who and where her parents were, they could do three things to extract info where Hermione (and thus Harry, the real target!) might be or be going. 1, Veritaserum potion (but won't work on an obliviated memory) 2. after that fails, they'd likely lose interest, but if not they could try the cruciatus torture curse (but does not work if the memory is just absent) and 3. in a last resort, the use of legilimency aka mind reading (but few wizards are skilled enough to use effectively, and also provides no info anyway after obliviation). Deatheaters would find no clues left anywhere, physical, magical, or memory to even make them interested in spending time pursuing bothering her parents. It protected Hermione and the good guys generally, and was the most effective thing she could do in a hurry to protect her parents.

the HBP movie did soo many things wrong and one of those things is having Dumbledore suggest that the Horcruxes could be anything, when in fact he understood that each Horcrux and it’s corresponding hiding place would have a deep personal/meaningful connection to Voldemort, also Dumbledore and Harry had already theorized what 5 of them probably were including the 2 that had already been destroyed (diary and ring)

Umbridge has never been a supporter of Voldemort in fact i’d be willing to bet that if it ever came down to it she’d fight against him or at the very least wouldn’t fight alongside him, but don’t get it twisted she is still very much evil… she’s just a completely different type of evil, she’s indirectly working for Voldemort because he does have complete control of the Ministry, and she clearly agrees with a lot of the things he stands for she just doesn’t agree with him as a person on the grounds that he’s a complete psychopathic killer, and yes that’s kind of like the pot calling the kettle black because she’s willing to subject innocent people to the dementors kiss which is worse than outright killing someone

35:54 “Whose snake was it?” You don’t know the gigantic snake?! It’s the same giant snake you saw by Voldemort’s side at the start of this movie, called Nagini. Voldemort told her to eat the Muggle Studies Professor he’d just unalived. Nagini first appeared in Goblet of Fire, at the start when she slithers past the Muggle caretaker Frank and enters the room with Wormtail, Barty Crouch Jr and tiny Voldemort. She is also seen attacking Arthur Weasley in Order of the Phoenix, when Harry sees her perspective in his sleep and saves Arthur by telling Dumbledore.

I might comment again but I wanted to add an interesting fact about Chamber of Secrets. They describe the Basilisk as a snake but the animal the basilisk is based on is actually a legless lizard, which is a real animal. It sorta looks like a snake but there are significant differences, mainly with the head. Aside from the head shape, the “basilisk” has a whole row of teeth, which snakes don’t have. It also has eye lids and ear holes which lizards have but snakes do not. The body of a legless lizard is a bit different than a snake too. Idk why they chose to do this but my guess is because the lizard looks more menacing, especially with a whole row of teeth. 🤷‍♀️

  • @zoookoo

They linked it to snake because Salazar Slytherin Sigil is a snake and the Chamber of Secrets was opened by the Heir of Slytherin Voldy, and Harry can hear or talk to snakes while everyone else couldn't I like that touch to it as like Hermione had told him in that movie if he told people he can hear voices they'll think he's gone mad but the whole time he could hear the Basilisk which also links to something that's part of Harry which we find out in Deathly Hallows Part 2 which I don't want to spoil

I find it so funny what you said about how no one spoiled the Dumbledore's death scene. When the Half Blood Prince novel came out in bookstores, only a few weeks after it's release you can see t-shirts being sold online that said that Dumbledore dies on such and such page. Seriously, some mean people thrive on chaos and spoilers. Thank goodness I read the whole book that very weekend of it's release. I would have been so angry if I saw someone walking down the street with that massive spoiler on their chest. LOL!😆 👕🤫 Btw, did you know you can actually buy the Beedle the Bard book that Dumbledore left Hermione in his will in bookstores? You can also buy 2 Hogwarts textbooks, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and also Quidditch Through the Ages in bookstores as well. JK Rowling wrote all three books in order to raise money for charities. They are actual books full of information and stories from the first page to the last that you can read as if you were Hogwarts student living in the wizarding world. 🏰📚

I can’t unhear Hermoine screaming because of Bellatrix. It’s bad enough to be called something but to have a slur written into your skin, to label you, is sick and I feel so devastated for Hermoine. I can’t imagine doing the things she did. You don’t spend much time with Dobby in the films, but one thing is very clear about him, he’s a character of light. He is just pure and good natured, even if his methods in the 2nd film were over the top, his intentions were good. So even with the little time we get with him in the films, his death is still devastating. So many characters didn’t deserve it but Dobby was the least of them.
