This movie holds a special place in my heart. My girlfriend and i rented it from blockbuster when we first started dating. She fell asleep before the end. I convinced her that it ended with werewolves. Ever since then, when she falls asleep during a movie I tell her it ends with werewolves. She never saw the end of the movie.

"We've aged better than this movie" is probably my favourite burn on an old film I've ever heard. ALSO Jared Padaleki is actually from Texas. Who'd've thought???
@JohnJacksonJohnson

Plus, both Jared Padalecki and his "Supernatural" co-star Jensen Ackles, both from Texas, played characters named Tom in different films, Jared in "Cry_Wolf" and Jensen in the remake of "My Bloody Valentine". Pure coincidence, I know.

@@marvelanddcretrospective I was watching him back then with Gilmore Girls and then all the promo stuff for Supernatural. He had and still does have a Texan accent but unintentionally or not it's much thicker in the movie. I have an Alabama accent myself and it can get thicker at times. Literally 54 minutes into this podcast and I've just realised it's Gary Cole and not Gary Coleman. I did think it was weird that this white British teenager would have a small black man as his father. I did also think it was strange that neither James nor Chelsea mentioned that...

@@DerMoerpler"Enjoy", that's the word I like to hear. For me a good movie is a one I enjoy. I'm not a snotty Sir masterpiece like most people are. Hey guys, the WWF( world wildlife fund) won their lawsuit in 2002 which is when the then WWF became the WWE. This movie came out in the WWE era. My guess is that they couldn't use the WWE name because they're really iffy on that type of stuff so they used the WWF name cause The WWE no longer owns it. That or the guy who wrote the script hadn't watched wrestling since the WWF days and thought it was still called WWF.

Bon Jovi is my favorite band and I’m trying so hard not to be offended because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but gosh I love them Edit: Um ok that shot through the heart part has me dead in the floor 😂😂😂😂 That was clever
I was so freaked out by this movie’s poster as a kid, because I parsed it as a freaky monster with tall pointy ears (I thought the shadow on top of his head was just negative space). It became a lot less scary once I realized it was just a guy in a shitty mask.
Fun fact, one of my relatives got me this for xmas one year. She knew i loved horror movies, so she saw this movie at the store and thought it looked "scary." Haha but hey its the thought that counts :)

You say that like this isn't the greatest movie of all time
Funny enough Padalecki is from Texas! And I was recently rewatching New Girl and the actor who played Owen is a guest star for a few episodes! Lol
I lived for when they called Jared a cutie
It's funny you mention that Jareds character is supposed to be from Texas, and that's why he's doing the kinda southern accent, because he's actually from Texas lmaoo.
“Not a nice word for lesbians” and that whole segment has me cryyyying lmfao
jared padalecki is actually from texas, when the accent slips out its when his accent comes out naturally. it happens a lot in supernatural if you pay attention.
I was about to pee myself every time the Bon Jovi sound effects happened, especially the shot one
Funny enough!. Supernatural’s Pilot aired 3 days before this movie was released in Cinima!
*“Yes, Cry_Wolf, you've aged like a fine milk."*
52:02 I think I clinically died for a little due to lack of oxygen from laughing too hard
I remember watching it on HBO in the mid to late 2000’s something that I was scared to watch of course I was younger at that time but then realizing all my god that ending was the first bit of exposure to a twist I ever had.
Hey James and Chelsea your podcasts are the best. By the way, the term "no homo" started in the mid 90s. It was originally used in several rap lyrics and got picked up and became more popular in the 2000's. I'm not trying to call you out. Just thought it was a fun little piece of trivia.
I'm not a Bon Jovi fan but 1986's Slippery When Wet is a badass album. Given the mid-80s glam metal/hard rock context the songwriting and instrumentation are objectively good. The music cue you guys are using - "It's My Life" ...holy shit, that came out in 2000? I was absolutely positive this was still the 90s! Fuck! Anyway, I believe this was the tail end of Bon Jovi's musical relevance. So yeah, if you only know latter day Jovi, I get it. But I haven't met anyone who wasn't impressed after watching the acoustic performance of Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora playing "Wanted Dead or Alive" at the 1989 VMAs cause that shit is dope as hell! His real name's John Francis Bongiovi Jr. btw.
This was the first horror film my mom allowed me to see in theaters. My family does not approve of horror films. This is what brought me into the slasher film world. Half my Blu-ray collection is just horror now. Lol.
I'm so happy you two are doing a podcast about this movie! I was super excited when Chelsea first mentioned it. Great work as always, guys! The time and effort that is put into these podcasts really shows and I can't stop talking about them. Keep up the great work!

Why is everyone hating on this movie? Most "horror" movies don't scare me anyways. I like how this story had a good twist, and I am referring to the final twist in the last 5 minutes. That brought everything together.
