Hey Candleman here’s an idea - paint the plots then offer to clean them afterward for 💷💷🤔

Owatrol is farr better than turbs, does not ruin the shine. A small splash is all you need.

Ive gone back to plots after cleaning and they have vacuumed the tops of skirting and made a black mark from the pipe all around the room (every room) and think that's acceptable

We used to put weathershield high gloss into exterior undercoat painting the train station waiting areas they never noticed.

Satin should always have two coats even if it going on a oil based undercoat , it will definitely will need two if its going on a water based one .

Was going to say similar. A two coat paint doesn’t become a one coat paint because the job needs doing quicker or cheaper. I wonder why they don’t ask for WB satin which would go for two in less time and presumably give a better finish than one coat of OB satin. Not a decorator just my thoughts based on what I’ve picked up on various KZread channels.

I use Owatrol oil in my gloss , always get a great finish with it , i haven't thinned with Wyatt Earps for years. Spot on about cleaners Mark , they don't fit the job description as they do their utmost to avoid any cleaning.

I use owatrol aswell, only downside is I noticed it makes the gloss yellow that bit quicker because more oil.

Can't say i've noticed any difference to be honest , i think it's much more dependant on how much UV light get's to certain areas , we tend to re-dec every 2 to 4 years due to high turnover of new tenants on the contract i work on and the owatrol houses look no more yellow than the one's where its not been used.@@ljcooil87

It’s true what you say about cleaners…been a painter now for 35 years but took a job at local shopping centre as a cleaner. I’m the only fella with a bunch of women and they always whinge if they have to clean something (which of course is the job) Makes no sense.

i agree if you use emulsion on wood work then when it comes to sanding it down prior to glossing its not the same as using oil based undercoat , in my day we weren't allowed to spray emulsion to new build houses , only roller on ceilings and walls , i worked on a site and the agent was a right pain this guy didnt sit in his office he was out on site most of the day , he wanted us to give the doors 2 coats of gloss and flats of facings as well , and he could tell if you didnt , he won best site for scotland on that site , but we could hardly make any decent money

If you don’t make money 💰 on that site, you shouldn’t have worked on it. nobody, including myself, paints a topcoat on emulsion on woodwork

Acrylic primer undercoat is porous. Johnstone Aqua under coat and other brands versions have the appearance of oil undercoat and top coats glide on far better.
