🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZread yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

That's my christmas presents sorted! How many balls for a scarf do you recommend? Stunning pattern Robin thank you 😘😊

I've not got much further than I show in the video - I'd imagine I'd have to use another 2 or 3 balls 🤔 Depends how long you want your scarf really! Sorry I don't really have a set answer for you 😂

@@HookedbyRobin After you finish a project, like a scarf, would you please come back and comment on the yards used for what you made, and it's approximate size? To follow dye lots, I want to make sure to get enough yarn. ♥️.

Fab, thank you . I've ordered 6 balls, that should keep me going 😊😊

@@looloolock definitely let me know how you get on! You'll probably finish your scarf much faster than I will as I'm the queen of never finishing anything 😂

Louisa Lockley how far did you get with 6 balls? And how long was each ball?
I consider myself a "permanent beginner"... but this was SO easy once I watched the video a couple of times. Then I tried a sample swatch, and it all came together nicely. Tip for new crocheters who might be struggling with this: Watch on full screen to get the best view, and if it seems too fast for you, click on the little Settings gear, then click on Playback Speed, and choose a slower speed that's comfortable for you. Don't hesitate to back the video up, either. This is the beauty of "KZread Learning"... you can always go back, make the view bigger, and slow things down to catch up until you're comfortable and you get the hang of it. Slowing down will also let you work right along with the narrator so you get to see, hear and "do" the new skill, which reinforces it.

Great tip thank you 👌
That's such a clever way of getting around right side/wrong side issue to make all the shells the same WHILE enhancing the puff! I love it
I really enjoy your tutorial style - as someone who’s only started crocheting this year this is a pattern I look forward to trying in the future!
Absolutely beautiful I'm gonna save it and hope to one day do it. I've only done a very large granny square when I was 18 and I havent touched it since and in 51 finally at the age where I can have hobbies and I started with gardening and I want to add this back into it but I'm still just a beginner but I do hope to do this beautiful pattern hopefully before I have another grandbaby so I can do a blanket for he/she lol. Thank you so much for sharing.
THANK YOU, Robin! What a fun look and texture! At first I was confused as to why the rows of single crochets were being added & embedded, but then remembered it's a PUFF SHELL! So Clever & Cute!
THANK YOU FOR ADDING SUBTITLES!!! You have such a wonderful finesse to your crocheting. also having accurate subtitles is always great just 😩👌 superb

You are very welcome! I have to manually add the subtitles (it takes forever and is a total pain hahah!) so it's good to hear they are useful!
I love it! It's absolutely stunning! I am definitely going to try this pattern stitch out. Thank you so much Robin for another amazing tutorial.

I’m so happy I found your channel!! I really love several of your patterns/stitch tutorials. 😍
I will keep trying this pattern because the stitch just looks so cool and i hope to one day complete it so that I can show others what it looks like.

Get comfortable with the star stitch first before taking on a project with this stitch. It'll help you get the hang of carrying all the loops on your hook. I speak from experience ! The cotton yarn she used for the tutorial made the stitches look so sloppy in comparison to her scarf but don't let that put you off...Cotton yarns (4wt, clunky/kinda bulky, lower quality) are stiff and do not drape well. The variegated yarn from her project uses a premium acrylic and drapes very nicely. It's similar to Red Heart's Unforgettable. It is so soft! Note, it can be a little tricky to frog, so take your time.
What a beautiful stitch pattern and yarn. Thank you for the demonstration.
Oh, so beautiful! Love the pattern. I’ve got to give it a try. Thank you again for another great tutorial.
Beautiful! I'm going to crochet this. Thank you, Robin!!!
Wow this is incredible. Plus your choice of colourway is phenomenal - the blues and greys truly make it look like shells plucked from the ocean.

This stitch is stunning! Yes I will be making something with it! Lol. Thank you Robin! ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing, it took me a little while to figure out the stitch but I got it!! I'm making a blanket for my first grandchild
If anyone is watching this now! Lol I had problems! I am not a fan of thick yarns! But I wanted to try this. I have painful fingers from arthritis. I kept dropping off my stitches. Ugh yep! So! Lol I decided I needed to practice something that might work for me! I kept thinking how this puff stitch reminds me of Tunisian crochet. I have one hook for Tunisian and it's a size m! Well I do have a couple skeins of super bulky. So I'm making earwarmers using a tunisian hook and bulky yarn. Lol. round one done! Thanks much for this pattern!
This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you!!!🧶🧶🧶😊
