Thank you, Sarah! I had been having a really tough time with this stitch but was finally able to get it with your video. Wonderful tutorial!
Thank you! I hated the look of the strangled foundation chain, so I added a row of single crochet on top of it. So much better.

Can you explain to me how to do that? I am new and am confused with there being an add 2 for the turning stitches?

Exactly. So did you make a foundation chain of multiples of 6 + 3 ?

Hi am sorry for the introduction in your comment but I find You're attractive and interesting I don't know if we could be friends so we can get to know each other more better thank you🙏
thanks for this video. I love how it is nice and close so us beginners can see exactly where to put the hook.
Me and my mom are gonna use this stitch to make a blanket with verigated (no idea how to spell it-) yarn. We aren't even done with the chain yet, but it's so pretty already! I'll update you as we continue by editing my comment
Believe it or not, I FINALLY learned how to crochet - I love to sew, knit, draw, design etc. And made all kinds of things once I learned. Then haven't crochet in a while (about a year) and totally forgot how to do a shell stitch. Watching this it came back, but I will have to watch it again, to make sure I CAN. Looks so complicated, I can't believe how easily it came to me once - With knitting I learned as a little girl & never forgot. This I learned a few years ago, and made SO many things & without practice I forgot how - Daah!? Funny how the brain works!? Thanks for the video. Namaste🙏From USA!!
Thanks for teaching a new stitch, with a clear voice and direction. Should teach tutorial on tops or cardigan patterns

Hi
I can only hope that I can crotchet as fast as you one day! Mesmerizing!
This may sound a little weird, but I love the sound your wooden hook makes when you work with it, it’s as if it comes to life when it’s working. Weird, huh?

No, please don’t do that! I love that particular Furls design & would treat myself occasionally, but the shipping prices to the UK are outrageous! I’ll keep checking eBay for now.

chrissie hardman shipping prices are terrible (to Canada also)! I watch for their sales! They had an amazing one at the start of November for the wooden streamline that I like so I splurged :)

I’ve never seen a sale on! Must watch for that! I’m making the wrap I was raving about & I love it! I used the same yarn and shade as yours, I think it’s called “Lucky Penny?” You’re right, it does feel like cotton. I needed to make it longer than yours so ordered three cakes, I’m a little bit in love, I have to say. Thank you.

Sarah this sounds silly but how do you know what to put on each rows at the end I get confused of what to put at the beginning of each row
❤️
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work, is there a border for this?
is there any way to do increases & decreases while working this stitch?
Hermoso, pero agradecería enormemente sí puede poner subtítulos en español, lo agradeceríamos miles 🙋🏼♀️🙏🏻
Thank you! Do you know why mine doesn't stay flat. It curls...???
What, if any, kind of a border would you suggest for a baby blanket made using this stitch pattern? Thx 😀
Please Help :( I have big gaps going from all the 5th dc in shell stitch to the sc. I cannot find a way to keep the stitches tight for that solid shell pattern
What type of yarn are you using and how many spoon of yarn you have to use for the solid shell stitch pattern
Could you use a fountain single crochet to start.
I would like the written patter
I get a big stitch gap between the sc and the first dc of the shell and I think it looks bad. Any tips on how to reduce it? Your example does not have it.

Maybe try to pull the loop on your hook tighter before you pull the loop through the chain?? That hasn't happened to me, but that's the only thing I can think of Edit: I just realized your comment is 4 months old and you probably don't need my advice anymore 😅
I would like more details about the yarn I look for it and I can't find it
Can I used this pattern on shawl
I love your patterns. May I suggest, instead of skip two stitches then in the next chain **** to skip 3 and double crochet into that 3 rd chain. Must be getting older than I thought I am. I've pulled this apart more times than I would have a year ago.. before it dawned on me, skip 2 an crochet in next stitch. Lol I best tell my doctor, I think I am losing it. Also I have made this many times over the last 4 years.
Do you have a video of how to add a border to this blanket?
I was hoping to use this stitch to make a tote. Unfortunately I'm working from the bottom up (from the base up) so the shells would be going the wrong way. 😭 Does anyone know a work around?
Does anyone know how to increase or decrease on this stitch? I can't seem to figure it out. For increases, I tried: @ beginning of row 2, I did 5 DC vs 3DC. But when I go back for row 3, I dont have the SC to put 5 DC at the end... so maybe I need to do 6 DC? (I hope this make sense) help~~~

@@chloeburke737 I think I figured it out. Instead of 3 DC at the beginning of the row, I did 5 DC & SC in the 2nd ST. And then continued as usual with the 5 DC in the SC and so-forth. For decreases, I'm still figuring that out.

I love the pattern, but the sound of that yarn scraping across that wooden hook is very annoying.
Row evens: 4:05 Row odds: 6:00
Pretty, but I’ll look somewhere else. I can’t understand why crocheters still use Ravelry after the horrible, mean and bigoted things the husband and wife said about half the people of this country.
You go too fast !
