I never appreciated how good he was when I was younger and he was playing until my mate who is big into cricket told me how good he was. Australia have been pretty lucky.

Gilly was the greatest to watch, exciting and powerful. Good with the gloves, honourable and classy.

Alan Border, Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting were three hard-nosed, ultra-competitive captains....legends! BTW, great series of Masterclasses!

@@rvs1444 Steve Waugh did inherit a world beating team from Mark Taylor which he turned into an absolute dominating force in the game. Mark Taylor is whom I considered the greatest captain of all time along with Imran Khan. He was instrumental in turning a young Warne and McGrath into becoming the most brutal match winning combination in world cricket and also he was the first captain to beat west indies at their home in nearly 16 years which is as great an achievement as that of Greame Smith whose South African team became the first team to beat Australia in Australia in almost 16 years . And for all the great things Steve Waugh's team achieved they still could not beat India in India which he himself said many times as the final frontier for his Aussie team .

Ricky was spot on with his analysis. We’ve all seen it on screens how he always look at that spot and then go about his business. Truly a master class!!!

Vaughan - suave, soft spoken, well dressed, seems like a proper university graduate. And yes he plays good cricket. A copybook Gentleman.

Don't remember a time I ever rooted for Gilly or Ricky, but boy now that they're out of the game, I appreciate their analysis so much, esp Ponting. His consistency and solid base all come from his approach to his game on every delivery.

I actually like Gilly's expressions and pronounciation, also Clarke's. These guys make a full fledged facial expression and bend every word to the fullest! Maaaeeet(mate), toime(time), tonoight(tonight), effectiiiive. Thats real cool, especially from Gilly.

Gilchrist is such a good role model, class act and I love how he talks so well of his parents.

Former greats with their words of wisdom. However Ponting was above everyone as he was in a elite club of batsmen along with Sachin and Lara, sheer genius. Great to hear his insights about batting!!!!

Me being a huge fan of Ponting maybe even more than I am a fan of Master blaster this discussion is fantastic. I still now remember 2007 final against Sri Lanka. I was just 9. It was watch worthy. Those pulls of Ponting was love. His cover drives were the cleanest!!

@@seyedibrahim2092 Weaker teams? What even? Sachin averaged 57 after 177 tests. No one has even played that many. Ponting went from averaging 60 to 51 in the later part of his career.

Gleaned so much of insights about batting from Gilchrist, Ponting, Peterson and Vaughn in just 20 minutes! Pure Gold! A must watch for youngsters!

Because he grew up in South Africa . Major part of life 5-16 when person learn to language accent etc , . After that it is difficult to change . He only moved to England in his late 20's

@@chrisp4170 2005 Ashes and 2001 India series prove Australia wasn’t invincible but that side was so amazing that it usually took huge achievements to beat them. That’s why losing series like 2005 stand out.

Great clip. Videos like this make me quite nostalgic for the great Australian teams of the 1990s and 2000s. KP made England watchable latterly from a fans perspective. Don't know what it is, but something seems to have been lost over the last few years. Windies decline, Aussies average, England usual mediocrity, the rest indistinct from each other. These things come in cycles, hopefully a cricket-renaissance is not too far away.

I much enjoyed it! Just getting into Cricket this last week - Wikipedia and KZread are grand! Doodle Cricket too! Levity aside, what I liked most about this video is how these masters interacted. I'm looking for egos and one-upsmanship to emerge and they checked that at the door. Respect for one another and collaboration on instruction were evident. Each was distinct in expression, unique in perspective, but committed to cooperative instruction. They didn't speak as one man: they supported the aim of the session positively. Well done!

Ponting speaking about the pull shot, it doesn't get better that that.

Ponting had the best pull shot out of any of the players I have seen in my 40 odd years of watching and playing cricket. Perfect technique, so balanced.

So now i understand where Rory Burns gets his head position from. It looks so weird when he does it, but when Ponting explains it, then it makes sense.

Gilly and ponting together in the field was treat to watch.

I love the way the English boys have obviously told them to turn up in tracky bottoms for a laugh

What a great video. Unbelievable players these guys...destroyed the morale of many a bowling attack and their oppositions fans happiness too! (Ponting in the 2003 WC was ruthless) Even when training in Fighting sport, the head is the balance...where the head goes the body follows.

It's soooo nice to hear them ! They brought back childhood memories 😊

I'm a left hand batsman so for me Gilchirst is good and my idle but Pointing was a #monster one. Pointing a #legendary batsman and a captain at a same time. Lots of love and respect from #Pakistan for all these stars..
