What a breathtaking performance. The best bowlers from around the world at the time, highest ranked, combined into 1 dream attack and Gilly flayed and thrashed them to every corner of the field like they were schoolboys. This was Gilly at his peak. He had just come out of some bad form (maybe the worst slump of his career) in the English tour and was trying to put it behind him with lots of boundaries and lots of runs. Boy did he make some bowling attacks pay, as he made up for his patch of bad form and frustration! He was slaying his demons with a smile on his face and enjoying every boundary with new joy and thirst. Awesome to watch.

@@Sahil-Singh. - I disagree... Richards faced some of the most fearsome bowlers of all time... As an Aussie, I won't ever deny Gilly's prowess at the crease... he was truly a machine when he got his eye in... but he was fallible too... he had many a cheap dismissal to his name. Richards was downright arrogant class personified... He did everything Gilly could do... without head protection. The man was fearless. I put them both on an even par. To say Gilly was way better than Richards is to ignore several key factors.

Hitting six used to be a feat. Taking the wicket of a top order batsmen was special. Maiden over was a highlight. Taking 5 wickets was like scoring 150. I really loved cricket when scoring 270 meant you almost had the match in hands. Chasing scores above 300 was a world event. Fours were a treat to watch. Miss hit meant losing the wicket. Speed had accuracy. Pitches had character. It had issues with umpiring but that made matches much more engaging. One thing that hasn’t change is my love for him. I loved him then, I love him now and I’ll love him forever. Such an exciting character whether he was batting or was keeping wickets. His walk off when he nicks a ball. His towering sixes. Cuts the ball so hard which was treat to both the eyes and ears. And the child like smile❤️ Adam Craig Gilchrist

This was the time when cricket was actually cricket, full of superstars. Cricket has lost its charm due to lack of world class players..

That brought a tear to my eye....just like when he played his last innings
Whoever didn't come to the stadium that day missed this masterclass from gilly
The man is simply a legend
australia ws like the roman empire of the time...

Gilchrist used the ramp before it was cool!
Remember when Australia was so good they had to play the best in the world and still beat them hahaha
Gilly the destructive, the ideal, honest ,a true sportsman.
Best wicketkeeper batsman of all time, what a legend!🙌🏼
Without doubt the best opening bat in one day cricket ull never see anyone like him again an absolute freak
Aussie Vs The All Stars. The All Stars were just there coz they wanted to relive how it feels getting beaten by the Australians.

Anyone in 2024 and missing those old days when he came out as an opener and was a delight to watch. You're one of the finest batsman the Australian team has ever seen. Thank you for all the memories Gilly, always an admirer 🙏🙏
I miss cricket, the culture has disappeared. Cricket now is nothing more than amazing memories/feels.
Gilly made the batting look so easy.. Extremely gifted cricketer
The only man I've ever seen give a masterclass in ODI batting like Gilly was the original Master Blaster himself.... Sir Vivian Richards.

He was the dangerous opener of the era. Won 3 world cups for Ausis as an opener. He was the nightmare for many bowlers those days.
The video quality looks so much better for its time

Im A big fan of Gilii, Love from Pakistan ❤️❤️❤️
Used to love watching Gilly play that slog-sweep shot against the off-spin bowlers.
I was at this game, seated 1st row behind the world 11. Shoab Aktar spoke and joked with the crowd on a few occasions, he seemed to have little interest in the game,

Gud to watch this innings again....After watching it live in tv 15years back...😊
Finally Indian player got his wicket... Love u Gilly.. U r best always.
Best wicket keeper batsmen ever♥️
Man what a inning….can watch him playing all day❤❤
Gilly in mid 2000s was the most dangerous batsman till date only next to Sir Vivian Richards.
The most exciting batsman to watch there's ever been and a very decent man.
That team was so good they had to make world elevens to give them competition. Back when Aussie cricket ruled the world.
dominating period of Australian cricket team.
@cricket.com.au a big thank you for you one of the few cricket channels on youtube which provide old cricket matches with good video quality. you literally bring back my childhood memories
Gilly had an eye like a dead fish. A real game changer. Best wicky/batter in the business, and redefined the term all rounder. Love hearing richo and grieggy commentating if but for a moment.
World Stars consisting of top class players from each country still got beaten and thrashed by the Greatest Australian Team.
What a star world 11 team it was but still lost so badly

My favorite batsman of all time. Just glorious to watch him bat. Miss watching gilly.
Will we ever see a good cricket team as that Australian team? The Australian team of the time was full of stars and treated the World eleven as little boys. It is sad watching the current Australian team compared to the past superstars.

But even with that team they have won the 2015 world cup and now again they are the favourite for the 2019 world cup is well .But you said true when pointing was the captain of Australia no one can beat them in any match that time they were unbeatable.

Australian selectors, development and first class cricket have all combined to ensure Australia will never have a power house team like that of the mid 90s to 2005 again, especially in our life time.

That was too short of length with 136 km/h pace. Gilchrist would have hit such balls for six at least 8 out of 10 times.

Respect from India! ❤️
greatest of all time!!
yes Gilly always used to be on the top of the world and well no opening batsman was so charismatic on his day as Gilly used to be and he never used to hover around in the crease for kidding he simply used to starts scoring , threading like a knight with a sword and used to Substract the opposition's scorecard while chasing the runs and the best part was that his strokes were risk-free.
Destroys all the legends, gets out to part timers! 😂😂

When Cricket Was A Great Game!
He was one of my best an honest player ever in cricket history. ,gilly, hasim amla, moeen ali , i Love all.
Finally bowled by viru ☺️
What a reflex !! Love you Gilly
watching this quality of cricket repeatedly is still better than watching any live match today.
Always missing my childhood when Hayden and Gilchrist ,Painting ,martyn, hussey, mcgrth, gillespie,Lee were on peak
Adams my fav player ever also ab de Villiers
Adam simply rips apart opponents with scoreboard ticking in seconds. 😁
Best batsman ever I saw. Most honest than any...
