    Hello Shawn I-been watching your videos for a couple seasons ,I’ll make it quick,I learned a lot from you but for some reason I couldn’t understand the concept under rather then over the top,with all your great analogies I still couldn’t get the concept! I kept thinking,not to tap myself on the back but I am highly coordinated,I am an all around decent athlete so what the H…till I tuned in to another teacher randomly and the first thing that came out of his mouth was in order to not go over the top like most amateurs you need to understand the concept so JUST THINK OF BOXING PARTICULARLY AN UPPER CUT!BOOM LIGHT BULB MOMENT .and just like that I went from hitting the ball 200 maybe 220 if I was lucky to well over 300 yards! my entire game is completely changed due to one sentence !However if I didn’t watch all your videos it wouldn’t have made sense! I highly suggest that you use the upper cut analogy !thank you three musketeers for all that you do!❤🙏💪👍🏻

    You always read my mind. I've been videoing my swing for years and I simply have failed every attempt to have my left shoulder/arm keep up with the right side of my body leading to a horribly ugly scooping. I've been trying every drill you and others show, for years, and haven't found anything that works that allows my hands to lead the club through impact. I'm always almost perfectly vertical at impact. I sometimes wonder if part of it is that I'm a lefty playing golf rightie. I've done all stick sports like that, and never well. I'll try these drills and hope something clicks, but I'm not hopeful. Nothing works for me.

Get on our premium channel ASAP and watch and perform the tasks in the videos in the order I show here: -lead hand release -trail hand release -important release update -LEAD HAND RELEASE BACKSWING -TRAIL HAND RELEASE IN THE BACKSWING (the backswing portion of these videos are super key to you getting behind the ball and gathering full range of motion to deliver ALL AND ONLY MOMENTUM into the direction you want to start the ball (on my lefty swing, I cannot function without the lead heel coming off the ground and the lead knee coming in behind the ball like Jack and now Bryson) -alignment reload (CRAZY IMPORTANT) -blur of club -arc blur unstoppable momentum series -target confirmation series GET TO WORK! Keep me posted on the comment sections so I can follow your progress and help you through the snags!

    Great video as usual! Would be interesting to see a video about too late release, not all of us release too early. I have a big issue with holding the lag too long. I'm trying to release earlier and increase the club head speed, but most of the time I swing slow and slice it even with 45 degrees closed grip/blade. I just can't get the blade to catch up with my arms.

    My miss has been a 2-3 inch behind the ball with a deep divot. I hate it! As a life long athlete playing decent golf most of my life, I’m now 73 but I’m struggling to put a good swing on it! Your hand path inside the ball may be why I’m so steep at times as my hands maybe are going at the ball instead! My swing feels so weak and yet I’m a big strong guy! Any thoughts or advice?

  • @golflessons

    @golflessons

    We have an amazing series on our premium channel called “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” and #6 of that series is my favourite where you will see me whipping divots into the bushes and the drone view from above will show that the club enters the grass at the same place without even trying when you attention is in the right place! Wisdom in golf premium.com is the place; and see “throwing the club” and the “throwing series” and then all the “release” videos and then see “target confirmation series” to learn how to stay with the target to get that divot on the target side of the ball.

  • @scribnick

    Hey Shawn, I've noticed that if I have a lighter grip pressure, I can feel the second pendulum much better (a nice whipping action), and my distances increase. However, I know that you teach a grip pressure that more or less matches the shot that you're envisioning, but correct me if I'm wrong. Should I work on having a stronger grip pressure for my standard iron swings, or can I use a lighter pressure? Thank you as always for your awesome teaching!

  • @golflessons

    @golflessons

    6 ай бұрын

    Great comment and question! If I had a shot that I wanted to use momentum to hoist over the trees and land soft on the green, the grip pressure would naturally be more snug where as if I had a shot between clubs and used the longer club (99% of the time) and got ready to let softer momentum release through my arc-blur into the direction of flight, my observations on grip pressure after the fact (not making sure before the fact) would be softer in compression. Remember your conscious mind is only capable of 40 bits of info per second and one thing at a time vs your autonomous, self preserving, reflex action system, works at 40 BILLION, with a b, bits per second. The key is in the task just before the shot; what are you getting ready to do and how would the task feel through the ball if you were to pull it off?

    This question has nothing to do with this vid. Following you for a while but also trying other stuff out.Thus a q for an experienced golfer who likes to try stuff. IMO the best swing is a consistent swing. Every time you make a swing change - it takes time to bed in. So there are trade offs. I keep going back to 'PUT YOUR DRIVER IN PLAY WITH THIS EASY TASK METHOD | JAMMIE LETT | Golf WRX |' - because it works AND Jammie's swing is great. Now, your swing works! but I want Jammie's swing. Because it looks better. (sorry, but it does). So - the ideal video would be you describing how you would try to get Jammies' swing as your own as a 12 month plan (say) and apply all your normal sensible logic WRT the match ups that make that work. or to put it another way say you have a near pro (youngish - i'm not) when would they make a swing change, why and how?

    Jeez Robyn; you are still brainwashed by today’s golf instruction thinking you need to fix something; EVERYTHING ABOUT MY SWING AND JAMMIE’S SWING IS SOUND AND I WOULD NOT CHANGE EITHER OF THEM. NOT A THING. What you need to do is match your set up to the flight plan through an intermediate point and the blur of club (path of arc) and allow momentum to gather and engage your God given kinetic chain and let that sucker release you into the direction of flight. On our premium channel, you want to see in this order the following videos: -alignment reload (your north star) -blur of club -Arc-blur unstoppable momentum series -all the release videos including the latest “important release update” video -match backswing to ball direction video -the throwing series -the goldilocks series -the target confirmation series -the “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series Combine these with YOUR ANATOMY, and YOUR WIRING, and your swing positions will fall into place.
