You’re definitely the first one I’ve ever heard talk about the watching the blur. It’s a really cool thing to watch great visual aid on path.
Needed that!!!!! I completely loose my focus and always revert to the ball!!!!!!
Thanks for another wonderful lesson, Sean. "That sphere is chaos if you don't have a destination for it" That's a classic!!😂

Great instruction Shawn. I have always struggled with a draw as was always trying get behind the ball and swing right of the intermediate point but it seems I do not have to do that. The swing should automatically take the ball to the right of the IP if ball is back in stance. Will try again. Your refinements keep revealing. And can you do it with woods and driver. Thanks.
You have made a lot of videos about this concept. This is the clearest explanation by far. Your videos have greatly improved my game. Keep up the great work.

Hi Shawn, for my address I go like this: I align my toes in a parallel point a little to the left of the target. Then, to get the diagonal stance, I pull my right foot back a little and open my left toe a little towards the target. In the practice swing he began by throwing the club a little towards the target, all completely relaxed and athletically stable on my legs, to initiate the gravitational pendulum motion, letting only the weight of the club guide me. I think the swing in 6/8 time... 3 for the backswing, 3 for the downswing. The acceleration of the stick towards the ground is helped by the body which naturally goes into the squat position. Well... to make sure that all this doesn't end in a bad hit on the ball, your drill on throwing grass towards the target comes in handy. However, I admit that with the driver I'm in a bit of trouble... I still don't feel the right feeling with his weight. With the irons and their bounce bouncing off the ground, the feel is fantastic. I'm on the right track? Thank you
Tres interessant, merci Shwan!
Best tool I’ve used to get the blur was a nylon rope. It helps with hand angles and path.
Thanks Sean. Lately I lost my intermediate point and my game has been chaos. Had to come black to this video for a tuneup.
Thank you so much for your videos. They have helped me so much mainly with driver, I was normally 220 to 230 with a slice and now I'm driving short par 4s straight and drawing the ball, which was never a thing for me. Please keep up the great work!

As always awesome Sean! The blur has saved me so many times during my round. Every time I get away from it I hit the ball all over the place. When I use the blur my misses are smaller and I hit the ball better more consistently!

Just knowing where the club will pass when you let it track is a shot saver! Stay with it!
Hey Shawn I have been practicing your way to swing and your way to hold the clubs, I can say I have never hit the driver so well down the fair way before. I have not played 18 holes yet in 2023 but I have played 6 and I hav hit my 5 iron 190 meters in the air ones 😊 I have been hitting the ball great with your way to swing on the driving range and I believe I hit it longer now and straightener but best off all my back is not hurting so much after practice. I will keep practicing your way so I can be ready to the opening match I my home club here in Denmark. My handicap is 1,1 going up I’m 46 years old but filling younger since I been swinging your way 😂😂. Thanks for you and you’re KZread channel. Brian from Denmark 😊

Hey Shawn! I think I had an “ah ha!” Moment thanks to this video. I’ve changed my grip so it’s a lot like Savs over the past couple years but recently I’ve been struggling swinging out to the right. I would always watch the club path blur and it’d look great in practice but when I swung not so much. The whole idea of having the arms swing back and forth on that specific angle set with the clavicle was eye opening. The backswing is now starting with more “target line” depth and the finish feels a lot different. But it’s got me hitting push hooks which I will then be able to work down to draws. Thank you. I just subscribed to premium channel so I’m reading to go for this year!

Way to go Spicy Turtle! I hope that was the proper translation! 😝 You are spot on! You cannot swing right of the target if you don’t know if the ball will come back for you; so everyone bails left to save the furniture! Getting that grip right like in the “important grip update” on premium, then matching that with the “arc-Blur unstoppable momentum series” will go a long way!

Hi Shawn, Proud owner of one of your early DVD series and follower of you on KZread. after initially improving my golf game under you videos, I've been having some struggles recently and am getting somewhat confused. Early on in your teachings....you had us focusing on the target. Which you said was the middle of the fairway down tee. Send the ball to the target. We were supposed to send the ball towards the target down the middle of the fairway. Throw the club down the middle of the fairway. More recently, you have been teaching about focusing on the intermediate point about 12" in front of the ball. While also teaching about focusing on the blur as it passes over the ball. As you know, our brains can really only focus on accomplishing one task during the swing. What is the most important thing for me to focus on? My golf game has fallen off a cliff. I was a low 80's golfer after I started watching your videos back in the day. Something happened with my focus or my swing. Now happy if I can break 95. I need Shawn WIG!

Hi Great vid as usual! I get the concept completely but one thing that I don't think I've ever picked up from u is my grip club relation for a fade (I'm a right hander). Draw grip club face relation is strong grip with club face closed. What is it for a fade? Ball postion I get for both draw and a fade.
@golflessons
Жыл бұрын
Hi Howie! Could be the same and it could be more closed! Depends on the person! The key is to stay with a nice release in the direction you want to start the ball and see how it flies!
Understood the science/physics with this one. 👍🏼 Request one with woods/driver. Specially the Driver as one has to catch the ball on the up.
@golflessons
Жыл бұрын
Combine this with the door frame analogy for the woods!
Another great one Shawn. I get the blur and the ball position, what about the club face? How closed for draws and how open for fades does one need to estimate? Also what you keep in mind for launch angle/apex? Thanks much. One of these days I'd like to come all the way to Quebec from California for a lesson, or even just to shake your hand! 😂

Hey Shawn can you explain what you feel in your arms. I know you talk about arm club unite but your across the line and you whip the club. It just doesn’t look like a arm weight drop??? Thanks
@golflessons
Жыл бұрын
We will be elaborating on this in the next series in the premium channel; if you look at the “perpetual motion drill” on premium or youtube, while the arms are tracking the G-forces in the swing, they are being placed and that is when the body responds to get out of the way and engages kinetic chains in both directions. The instant you try to manipulate the arms into a position, you are toast and ruin this relationship as the brain seeks to freeze the body action when this happens.
Hi Shawn! Long time listener, first time caller. (remember that one?) 😁 Love Sav and Mu because I too am LH. Do you check blur and select intermediate point with every practice swing on the course? Can I assume your clubface is closed at address? I notice your trail elbow is nearly horizontal at top of backswing...I assume that what was forbidden is now okay? You are correct...my practice swing is beautifully full and fast while real swing finish does not exist...working on "out of the way and out of the way" 😁You work so hard and giveaway so much. Thank you! (Your premium channel is on my Christmas Wish List this year!)
@golflessons

hey Joe! good to hear from you; yes on blur and intermediate point ON EVERY SHOT; chip-pitch-every tee shot etc. My club face is exactly where it needs to be to allow my ball to curve in the air the way I want it to when I swing through my intermediate point. LET THE ELBOW FLY, do not try to tuck it; it will tuck itself in the downswing when you deliver through the blur and into the direction of the IP. You don’t tuck for throwing baseballs or tennis serves, or hit baseballs…nobody would choose T-rex to play on their team!😝😝 When you get to premium, immediately see the Wisdom 2.0 series which is unfolding as we speak, then see the “throwing series”, the “arc-blur unstoppable momentum series” and the “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series”

when you take a practice swing, do you see the ground being torn or scuffed and changing shades in front of you? focus on that to get your bearings; as long as you see where the ball is; it does not need to be defined.

I don't want to disagree with a master of the craft there but for me it sure feels like the hands, but maybe its not releasing the club properly. I have to actually think about releasing the arms/hands in the direction of the target or else I feel like I am holding the club off and end up with bleeding little fades. Love your work and thank you for the reply.
In tournament play can you place an intermediate point?
@knuthere
Жыл бұрын
Nope. But you can find something a little ahead of your ball and use it if it's already there. A brown spot. a weed, etc. On the tee you can strategically tee your ball behind something that's there already and use it for your intermediate point, but you can't place something yourself.

One of the things that will hold you back from this apart from the blur of club to find distance to ball and ball position based on the swing circulating over the ball and right edge of the intermediate point is the grip and club relationship and the natural release of the arm anatomy when allowing the weight of the club to fully release it!
