I can’t say enough good things about the service and professionalism from Auto Medic garage during this disaster with my fuel system! Hoping I can do more to support Andrew and his team in the future. For anyone watching/reading this…. To say the least you won’t regret reaching out to them. Great job guys! I appreciate all the effort and patience dealing with the insurance company on this repair!

I'll bet all that crud in the valley was squirrel leaving. I'm gonna do my turbo when it gets warmer, but in preparation and diagnosis, I found all kinds of grit and chewed up junk the squirrels left the last time they came for a visit.

So the Oem pump lasted this guy 300k miles ??? If so, why go with the aftermarket pump and just use another Oem ? Also, I believe it is recommended to replace this pump every 100k miles, correct? Thanks for this vid and all the great info you add to it..

I doubt it was oem pump, truck had the sticker for replacement injectors so just going out on a limb I’d say it’s had a pump and injectors already. I would pick the dcr over the cp4 any day just cause it’s been proven already it handles contamination and water in fuel and the cp4 has proven it can’t handle either.

Disaster prevention doesn’t but I’m pretty sure Ford doesn’t like the dcr because it takes work away from them

@AutomedicGarage I wasn't sure because the DCR pump is CARB approved, so I thought maybe the warranty would remain in place.

If ford knows this pump is problematic why do they continue to use on new vehicles? They should pickup the tab for all the vehicles that need to make the upgrade.

The 6.7 has a cramped valley and the motor was designed around this pump. Until the dcr came out there was no other viable option.

@@AutomedicGarage I'm talking about the OEM aka Ford. They want to buy the whole system plug and play for their assembly line. Not a pump from a, rails from b, lines from c, sensors from d, etc. Then have to have a whole internal engineering team at Ford work to get all the parts to play together. Ford wants to have minimum engineering support requirement for the fuel system and buy it all in on spot to cut down on headache. Ford is getting a package price for the system. The price of that Bosch would give, if they would, for the system minus the pump most likely does not make sense commercially.
