Quick tip on hotel reservations. You can usually change your reservation to 30+ days out and then cancel a day later. It won't count as last minute cancelation.

Yeah those charge pipes are a must those stock ones can't even handle stock conditions let alone when its tuned. When I deleted and tuned my 16 F250 I had gotten the upgraded pipe but was so eager to drive it so I said eh next weekend i'll install the pipe got right out of my neighborhood gave it just a little bit of throttle boom it popped right off lol. So back to the garage I went to install the upgraded one.

Happened to my 2015 King Ranch with 80k miles on it 1100 miles from home 6 months after I bought it from ford. Spent 3 weeks at the ford dealer being repaired. Had to live in a motel. It was a nightmare. I replaced and upgraded everything I could. Vids/Shorts posted. Really thinking about selling it.

Back about 12 year's ago I was driving for a company who's entire fleet consisted exclusively of Kenworth T660's with a Red Top Cummins in it. I was in Omaha Nebraska when the aluminum fuel pump shattered and sucked up into the engine. Ha ha ha, as it turns out Paccar AND Cummins knew them fuel pumps was garbage and did NOTHING to rectify the situation. Thank god for that company that unit was still under warranty👍

$165.00 per hour plus tax on the labor and shop supplies for diesel work at the ford dealership I’m at in NC. Most people don’t take the additional costs of owning a diesel into consideration when they are shopping for a cool truck like their neighbor has. A gas engine in a superduty will do more than most people will ever need. The diesel trucks tend to be more of a status symbol for for the people around here that are using them to haul the kids to school and pick up groceries.

2015 6.7 w/225K and original CP4, change my filters every synthetic oil change 13-15K miles and add lucas every few tanks, A buddy has a 2016 6.7 with 70K and the cp4 took a dump at 50K but it was his first diesel and he was still on stock fuel filters. BEWARE you can run too much injector cleaner/cetane booster and it will melt your DPF, then it blows your charge air cooler out and rusts the fuel filler neck really bad, every fuel filter i drop from under the truck is rust red. SPE makes the best disaster kit out there for the Ford 6.7

I have had 5 Powerstrokes they all failed one way or another and left me walking. You have to be a masochist to own a Ford diesel, everything is very labor intensive on them. It's not justified to spend $10,000 on a repair for a truck, that's a lot of money.

I have an S&S bypassed 2011 f250 with 214,000 miles on it. I run cetane religiously and so far so good and I’m bypassed as insurance. I noticed there is a CP4 rebuild kit available for about $30. At 214,000 miles is an overhaul of the CP4 something that might be worthwhile as a PM? Also, I noticed the kit was mainly seals and o-rings. I didn’t see cams and so forth that are subject to failure. I’d like to hear your thoughts…. Please advise.

Late model diesels are such trash. Like anything new, they are 5 steps forward in refinement, power, and amenities, but they are 10 steps backwards in reliability, serviceability, and cost of ownership. At the end of the day they are supposed to be tools, and tools shouldn’t cost that much to fix nor fail in the spectacular fashions that they do. 5.9 or 7.3 truck will tow any race car anywhere in the country without dicking you down with dumb repairs. Hell even a late model gas truck pulls a 3,500 lb car no problem. These super high pressure common rail and emissions equipped trucks are honestly terrible purchases, unless you absolutely need something to pull in the 20,000+ gvw ballpark. Glad to see you got it back on the road, hope it doesn’t happen again anytime soon. Keep up with filter changes, no “mom n pop” fuel stations, no big tunes that drain the rails and drop rail pressure, and pray.
