Actually, The Cat Who protagonist was a middle-aged man, not an old woman. I usually write in a cat or two, since I have mine as reference material, but they're indoor cats, so don't get involved in the sleuthing. You've pretty much described the book I wrote (still looking for a different publisher who won't mess up the printing). BTW, my granddaughters are redheads, the younger one's favorite color is orange, and she wears it all the time. Of course, she's six... anyway, wear orange if you want to. Maybe not on camera.
