Bonnie is terrified of people, meaning she was abused at the cow farm before this. Probably a misconduct is happening at the previous farm. Authority should go and check this farm. Makesure its compulsory for the farm to install CCTV cameras inside the farm for the authorities to come and check how they treat the commercial animals. Most of the times they are abused, and Authority should fine them heavily, and close their farms immediately when proof is found.

I grew up on a family farm which raised cattle for beef. I'm an animal lover who's been a vegetarian for 40 years now. It makes my heart sing to see people rescue animals, especially ones that have narrowly escaped slaughter. I would love to live in a world where animals aren't commodities and/or food. Bless Bonnie and all the others who've been saved and you and the work you do. 💕 🙏🏻

I'm not a vegetarian or "woke", I just care about the well being of animals and that things are done in the most humane way possible. Any vet would be able to explain to you that you are wrong about their level of understanding. Also if humans can have a soul, and there are plenty of strange and cruel ones, animals certainly have one too. If you are talking from a religious stand point The Bible does not give any explicit teaching on whether pets/animals have souls, or whether pets/animals will be in heaven.

@@JanaLalewicz I imagine everytime they saw herd members loaded on the trucks and never coming back. They would associate it with being gone and separated from the herd. Hence something to get away from. Especially if any abuse occurred in that previous farm creating an even deeper fear.

I read a story recently, same kind of story except the cow was adopted by a herd of bisons. There was a picture and she looked so tiny in contrast. Apparently she is good to stay with them.

The deer showed more kindness to Bonnie than her first owners did. How sickening that she went through the terror of escaping that death car. Your love for Bonnie is so palpable. Thank you for being there when others humans weren't.

These are special people who rescue animals like Bonnie, love them, care for them, and don't give up on them. Thank you so much to the folks at Farm Sanctuary for all the work you do for the animals.

There was a similar event in Germany a few years ago. A truck, transporting cows to a slaughterhouse, had an accident and overturned, allowing the cows to escape. All, except for one, were quickly re-captured, but one was gone. She also joined a herd of wild deer in a forest and stayed with them, hidin in the forest during daytime and coming out with the deer at night to forae in the fields. After more than a year, she was eventually captured and today lives in a sanctuary.

So glad she escaped slaughter. Good girl!!

Bonnie is beautiful!!! It's amazing that the deer took her into their family and watched over her. Humans have a lot to learn from nonhuman animals. Thank you for rescuing her and giving her the life she deserves. It must have been so rewarding when she finally allowed you to pet her. @@jjradV it's actually very rare that farmers mistreat their animals. And in this case, this is a heifer calf and looks purebred and would never have gone to slaughter. It looked completely healthy and it's very common for cattle and deer to hang out together. Small farming operations may feed one steer out of their herd to slaughter for meat per year to feed their family... 99.9% of slaughter houses, stun humanely before killing humanely. Places that don't comply to the laws are very quickly shut down....I'm talking about the US. It's very different in third world countries. And betray is an emotion that animals do not possess...this isn't a Disney movie.

I grew up on a ranch, and we raised Herefords. I had a little heifer named Princess, and she was beautiful. She died while I was in college. I cried and cried. I love cows so much. 🐂❤🐂❤

I am an artist and paint cows a lot. I mostly used internet images. I feel so sorry whenever I see their faces. I always say I am so sorry and I hope you went through the terrible moment with less pain. There are so many vicious and bad people on the earth. Animals are the most innocent and gentle creatures. I hope eventually we don't need farm raised meat because of scientific progress.

My guess is that some sort of insurance claim was made, and reclaiming the cow would cause a ton of paperwork. But it is just a guess so it’s also likely that I’m totally wrong.

The cruel and evil humans that have pestered this planet with their presence are the problem on this beautiful planet that belongs to the animals first and then anyone else. I get so annoyed when human claim to be created in the "image" of God and so they can act like god's deciding who lives and who dies. I am so proud of Bonnie for running away from the evil animal meat industry and I am so happy that wonderful angels that work with Farm Sanctuary (and sanctuaries like them) helped give this bouncy joyful young calf a new life. I have been vegetarian since I was very young I didn't want to eat meat and didn't know why as soon as I knew what actually happened to animals I became vegetarian. No sentient creature on earth deserves to be imprisoned, tortured slaughtered and then eaten. Humans can be so sickeningly cruel. Dear Bonnie what a lovely brave soul ❤ Thank you to her rescuers. And Bonnie is now ribeye steak and hamburger. I grew up on a dairy farm and watched cows sold for 25 dollars to become dog food because they gave birth to such a large calf that they couldn't even get up . Or a cow that stepped on her udder and couldn't be milked. The reality of life isn't all rainbows and unicorns. But of course i have a heart and hope Bonnie lives a full life. For all of the vegetarians out there, do you know how many animals, birds and fish are killed each year to produce your vegetables? The pesticides and fertilizers kill animals and the residues end up in the water and drinking water. But keep thinking that you're above people who eat meat as GOD intended.

Bonnie was very smart to escape. I am glad she wasn’t slaughtered. Good job Bonnie. Can you blame her for not wanting to trust people. Who knows how the previous farmer treated his cows and then sent them for slaughter! God bless you for rescuing this beautiful cow 🐄 ❤

This feels kinda hypocritical: people taken a traumatized cow from living free in woods, put her into captivity with barn walls and fences and are happy crying now that cow was finally forced to accept their company and physical interactions. Like she had a choice? If humans managed to get cow to accept their friendship while free in the woods, that would be a great accomplishment, worthy of tears. Here it's: "I will lock you away and care for you until you learn to like me". If set free now, would the cow stay with humans or run away? P.S. I understand that cow is better off under human care than the in woods, of course. P.S. 2 I have great admiration of people that dedicate their time to help animals.

I became vegetarian almost 2 years ago. No one reason, just the knowing that most cattle and poultry have a miserable life before slaughter.
