My 2nd grade son brought home a little bird he rescued one day. It was in a Dixie cup. We took care of it and eventually dad built “Jackie” an outdoor aviary right outside our kitchen window. Jackie would sit on my son’s shoulder and eat kitchen scraps from the window. She lived for 12 years!!! What a wonderful gift.

I think, deep down, we all knew what had happened to our wonder chick. I followed this channel ages ago, when I was still in school. Watching it grow, and watching you light up with every animal you help hatch, help recover, or help pass on peacefully is enough to bring humanity back into the hearts of many. Sleep easy, sweet Albert. And may his - and his junior's - legacy remain for years to come.

Honestly it feels staged lmao… he legit likely swap the grocery eggs with the real eggs that he probably found in the wilds. Normally eggs in grocery store are NOT fertilized and the cold temperatures kills off the Embryo. It’s basically almost impossible for any eggs to survive
@coffeelink943

@@upnorth2421 well… it’s still possible but very unlikely will happen. That’s why I personally think this video is staged and he likely swap eggs. Grocery store eggs often is killed off by the cold temperatures because the embryo inside the egg is very sensitive to the cold and requires heat to developed. The only way for any chicks to hatch if the customers freshly got the egg after it’s been fertilized and buys it before the embryo is dead, but who has time to buy countless eggs to test that out

This is some rough vaguely inaccurate math but we got 8 billion people, on average a quail egg is consumed 1.3 times per person (probably vegans carrying that stat) a year, we got 8 billion people, times 1.3, ten billion four hundred million so this mf egg pulled a 1/10400000000 and another 1/12 of having a quail inside so the odds are about 1/8.01282051e-12

Well ... from what I've read quail live closer to 4-6 years than 2 (two is more of an "in the wild" type of thing, where a lot of them get eaten), but it has been much longer than that for the channel... So, yeah. I didn't really have to ask what happened to him.

@@Skepsis710 ya they taste the same, but good luck trying to get a pin raised quail to try and fly!!! Those fockers refuse to fly. Wild quail just aren’t around much in Texas these days and haven’t been for a while now. Back in the 90’s we would purchase a few crates of pin raised birds and dump them in the fields when we’d get to the lease, then the next few days we’d go out with the dogs and hunt them. They never ran very far from where u left them, and were damn near impossible to get them to fly tho. Sometimes, even with the dogs running in there, they wouldn’t even try to get away and forced u to kick them with ur boot just to get them in the air.
The amount of trust Albert has in you is so touching. Even when hammering on the pavement stone he’s not afraid. So heart warming this video. God bless.

Hahaha my man. You don't know a thing about birds. The reason that quail ran to him has nothing to do with love and trust and everything to do with the fact that there are no other chick's for it to group with. Qual are not solitary animals and part of the animal welfare act is that any animal under human control must be house with relevant species for its own mental wellbeing...this isn't being followed here.. really sad when he could have hatched a bunch of quail and had a family for them from eggs bought from a breeder...but you know...won't get the clicks and views if he did that right?

@@Stuartmwales given they were domesticated and selectively bred my man for the sole purpose of eating then yes...if you'd like a bird that wad made to be out in the wild and not bought into existence for the sole purpose of human food..check out jungle fowl the chickens ancestor that we as humans made chickens from. And then there's the fact that they are prey species anyway... designed to be eaten by other animals...not to eat them.

Yeah… that’s what I was thinking too 😂 I mean… even if he somehow managed to find one fertilised egg in the supermarket (which they are not allowed to sell and can be sued for) statistically, what are the odds to find another egg like that? I mean… if I was a costumer of that store I would have stoped shopping there… can’t they sue him for making them look bad and driving away costumers? 🤔

@@Catheist No. That sounds like one of dante's circles. I am a man and as such, I demand all my eggs fertilised for some strange magical reason. They taste the same nonetheless, and I just feel for the cockerel in this instance. @@upupuptheziggurat.liketysplit I have no idea what you mean by "I am a man-" yada yada yada, but try doing some research on eggs. the eggs you buy at the supermarket should never be fertilised; these non fertilised eggs are just cells from the mother, therefore they cannot grow into a bird.
