michelle, there is no justification for taking someone's life when we can choose from thousands of wonderful nutritious delicious healthy foods that don't deliberately cause suffering and death to anyone.

I live in CT and I remember Buddy the Beefalo it took them forever to catch him. He's really smart. At lease he gets to live a happy life now.

Allowing emotions to dictate your diet is probably not a good idea. You have tastes for a reason. They're about survival, not the avoidance of negative emotions.

Glad he gets to live a special life. Buddy reminds me of Kevin in “Home Alone”.

@@jjradV Interesting question. I heard recently that vegan cat foods cover all the bases for nutrition, because they supplement them with things like taurine, so all the nutrients are in there.

What an amazing community, I love how invested everyone involved was in Buddy's well-being. Wow! This is very telling of how much good there still is in this crazy world and how much feeling and emotion all living things are. Buddy's fear of humans is understandable. I kept clapping as I was watching his trip to the sanctuary. The best part is watching the officer tear up. He has such a good heart. I mean, how can't he? He's a loving husband with a live for animals (that ginger cutie on his lap). Such good people. Thanks for sharing this awesome story!!!

They are all individuals, with personalities. Just like Buddy. I hope some eyes are opened and compassion blooms from this video. Thank you to those who were invested in helping him and getting him to the sanctuary. I used to manage a farm animal sanctuary and it was and still is the most fulfilling and rewarding "job" I've ever had. So many sweet animals. A pig named Julie who knew her name as did others. They like cuddles, belly rubs, head scritches and kindness, just like dogs and cats. It's good to not eat our friends. You don't have to eat animals to live. I hadn't heard of this particular sanctuary; I'll add it to the list of those that I support. Many thanks again, to all those who saw Buddy as a living being worth saving, and not just a meal on a plate.

I saw this saga a little while back and remembered it fondly so I felt compelled to watch it AGAIN !!! It was as heart melting the 2 time around , and I'm glad that I took those few minutes to be reminded of Buddy's awesome story . Thank you to the entire town and especially Officer Ed for his persistent devotion to make sure that Buddy would be able to live his best life !!! 😁❤❤❤❤❤

I feel badly for these animals who are facing death in a slaughter house. No wonder this poor thing wanted to leave. He more than likely knew what was about to happen to him. Some of these beautiful animals deserve to live out their lives in peace. This is a beautiful place Buddy was able to go to. I'm so glad he had a happy ending!

We're all headed to our respective slaughterhouses. You must remember: A cow only exists because humans find them useful. Buddy would never have been born if there was no beef industry. It's an unavoidable fact of life that life feeds on life. Humans can't digest cellulose. Animal protein isn't optional. Only a modern civilization can give the illusion that it is, but that's merely a conceit, not reality.

If he helped one person see that cows are some one, not something....that would be great! There are probably over a hundred farm animal sanctuaries all over the US. I'm sure there were several far closer, but Critter Creek looks lovely.

There was a dairy farm about 50 yards from our back fence where I grew up. I recognize Buddy as a Bull. Meat is cruelty, and the sooner we make an alternative, that meat eaters like, the better. So happy to see Buddy living his best life. You go son.❤️

Meat is cruelty, I agree. But so is dairy. Cattle have to be impregnated approx every 12 months (typically artificially) to produce profitable milk. That means a new calf every 12 months. Most of these calves are killed. In fact, dairy isn't profitable without killing cattle. Meat is cruelty. Milk and cheese are cruelty by the same token.

Might take a year, but you just keep putting food, water down. Walk away a distance. Let him eat, drink. And continuously talk softly to him. After awhile, you get closer and closer. But ALWAYS withdraw when they back up. Eventually they soften and let you approach. And from the beginning, you never ever try and trap or chase them. So glad Buddy found a home.❤
