I love this audio-only review of this magnificent debut release of her independent journey. While I love the official video, the song and lyrics paint a masterpiece of word and song, that each of us can relate too, in one way or another. I know that the song was about her struggles with trying to make a name for herself under contract, but they industry folk were holding her back, and with the COVID crisis and other events like this, she couldn't get a foothold to have original material released to the public. Now, she's on her way, and I hope that more people will recognize what an amazing artist she really is.

@@gabe.absolute I still don't know why she hasn't got the viewing that she should have. When she was on AGT she was almost universally praised, but a lot of people turned off of her, because they perceived her stage fright as an act, with her being on other talent shows previous, such as The Voice Kids UK. But stage fright inflicted many other singers and actors, like Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Sting. Heck, even Elvis was famous for having crippling stage fright before performances. Instead of being shunned, she should be getting praised, for pushing through with the performances, and putting as much into each one that she did. I tell everyone that I know about her new single, and I'm not sure on how many have taken up the opportunity to listen to it, but she should be getting thousands, if not millions of views more than what she is getting now.

@@darrenbent7601 she has only begun as an independent. W/O a mgmt team, things are going to be slow until she regenerates the interest she had. It has been 5 years since AGT audition and a lot of her fans may have drifted away because there was not a lot of new stuff for so long. Thankfully, reaction videos like this have helped keep her name visible.

Good emotional reaction, Gabe, and your remarks aptly described the song. Courtney adds so much to the experience, though, when you see her perform, so I hope you react to the video soon. Courtney is the whole package; she will be at her pinnacle when she can be live onstage delivering one killer song after another! She co-wrote this with veteran songwriter Kevin Bowe and should be releasing another one soon.

Great idea doing the song separately! The lyric video came out first so a lot of us experienced it that way too. As somebody who's a quarter century older than MTV, I remember well the days when we heard music without pictures all the time. As much as I LOVE music videos, the current age is kind of like always seeing the movies before having a chance to read the book first. This is an exciting moment in Courtney's career, her first official release of an original song, her first concept video, and her first release as the independent artist she was always meant to be, so thank you for sharing your feelings about it with us.

@@gabe.absolute I've actually noticed that hearing a song I've never heard without the video before, I hear things I never noticed, and yes, when I see the video again they were always there. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden comes to mind.

@@prakaklef But, I will say that Courtney is both a powerful voice and a powerful stage presence even from a young age. She needs to keep both going forward. Produce good songs and music videos to introduce herself to her fans (old and new), but also put on a stage show like we know she can to generate new interest. She's going really be a presence in the industry when she gets going!

About 4 hours ago on a post about it, to a comment that said "this is an upbeat song sounds like it would have been fun making it, did you enjoy recording this one" she answered with "so much fun and omg the video wow" YAY!! I bet it is!

Hi Gabe. Good to see you again. Love this new release by Courtney and know you would to. It's a classic and when you see the video with it, it just magnifies the emotional impact of this song exponentially. Destined to become a Courtney classic. 'Breakable' is an amazing debut original single by Courtney. This is both her first original release as well as her first release as an independent artist and she just hit a home run. Her vocals just soar in this incredible song, the lyrics are an emotional gut punch and the fabulous video (when you see it) just reinforces all of the emotion contained in this song visually. After years of fighting to release the music that she loved and having labels try and twist her into something she didn't want to be, Courtney finally decided to go it on her own. In a true testament to her, she achieved in two months, what the labels couldn't do in years. Besides being the voice of a lifetime, she is focused, driven, has an incredible work ethic and is an all around kind and cool person. One thing about Courtney is when she wants to get something done nothing is going to stop her. A true role model in so many ways for all of us, who just also happens to have generational level talent. Everybody needs to get out and stream/watch this fabulous song. It is a masterpiece. As you said, everyone has been burnt by someone or something in their lifetime, so this song will be relatable to so many people on a personal level. No one can touch your soul when she sings like Courtney and it feels like she is having a one on one conversation with your heart in this song. You haven't reacted to Courtney for a while, but buckle your seat belt. Now that she's in control of her own music, it was said to expect a release approximately every month. So I expect you'll be doing a good number of Courtney reactions going forward. She has already mentioned that her next release will be more uptempo and future songs should be in a wide variety of vocal styles. Courtney has a huge library of originals that she has written over the last few years, but between the lock downs and travel bans from Covid and issues with her label, she hasn't been able to release them. She has shared many of those originals, in whole or in part, with her fans, mostly over live chats on social media and everything she has shared has been sensational. She is a true powerhouse as a song writer. Can't wait to hear you doing many more future reactions to Courtney's own material. As great as her covers are, with her incredible vocals and off the charts creativity, she turns everything she sings into an original, but her own music will blow the covers out of the water.

Yes!!! Exactly my reasoning as to why I do only the song. Because it distracts you from the lyrics, meaning and emotion behind the song
