Courtney Hadwin released her new single "Breakable" on February 24th, 2023. The song is available on all major streaming platforms, and the music video is set to premiere on her KZread channel on March 1st, 2023. Courtney became an independent artist at the beginning of 2023, allowing her to have complete creative control over her music.
"Breakable" is inspired by Courtney's experiences in the music industry, highlighting the challenges she faced in trying to move forward, feeling let down by people and circumstances, and realizing that she is breakable. Courtney's journey was hindered by the Covid pandemic, which struck shortly after she signed with Sony Music. She had written and recorded several songs but ultimately parted ways with her labels, leading to her frustration over not being able to release music.
Courtney Hadwin collaborated with producer and songwriter Kevin Bowe on her 2020 Christmas track, "Happy Xmas (War is Over)." Their creative chemistry led to the co-writing of several songs, including "Breakable." Both Courtney and Kevin have expressed admiration for working with each other, and Courtney has praised Kevin for not taking songwriting sessions too seriously and being able to have a laugh together.
Courtney's dedication and resilience in pursuing her music career despite facing hurdles in the music industry demonstrate her unwavering determination and strength, making her an inspiration to others who may be facing challenges or feeling broken. @@peterhowells7309 No sins committed Peter. Diana, Angelina and Courtney are some of the best new artists who are completely unique unto themselves. No one sings like them. Which makes them incomparable to each other. I personally hate it when fans try desperately to compare or find another artist they think someone sounds like. As musicians, we learn are craft from others we idolize and pick up parts that resonate with us early on and eventually combine those parts and our own abilities we create into a new artist. If we're lucky we sound unique only to ourselves. That's what these 3 have done. I'm mainly a Courtney fan and love old school music like classic rock of the 60's and 70's, along with some 80's, but I appreciate any artist who has a unique sound and is very creative, especially those who have stage presence. Courtney can sing any genre, which does separate her from so many other singers, but it's her sassy, gritty vocals that's her signature sound that really makes her stand out. Pretty beautiful vocals means very little to me unless they have something different and are distinctly unique. Both Angelina and Diana have that uniqueness too. Angelina for her beautiful perfect pitch & jazzy vocals, & Diana with her deep to high tones and also perfect pitch who no one could probably imitate. Too many singers today sound alike even though their vocals are spot on. I will never down play them, but they aren't what I resonate to.

I try to support all three as much as I can, but I give 99% of my support to Diana now after realising it was impossible to monitor and support these three AND the worlds other unique singer - AURORA! Glad you reacted to this; you always have thoughtful comments to add. This is Courtney's first professional original release (Pretty Little Thing was her other fully produced original she sang on AGT). She is working with Kevin Bowe, a seasoned songwriter and producer, who co-wrote this with Courtney. She has said this is about "everything" that's happened in the past 5 years--personal and professional disappointments. I see it as a sort of healthy catharsis. She has other originals to release soon as a currently Independent Artist. I expect the next one to be more upbeat.

Boy, oh boy, you really understand Courtney and her ways, I think. I feel like their's a lot of somewhat hidden messages purposely done in this video. I just love this video and how it was produced. I thought I caught all the little nuances this video showed. But you brought my attention to at least one other. Image of her in the lake with the way her clothing was placed and the idea of the lake itself and the way the ground under the water was broken up. Missed those things. The only thing I feel you missed about her and you'll have to watch a lot of videos and listen to all her comments to people that Courtney has done to understand why she lets it all out when she sings, even in this style, is that she doesn't try to perform and act out how she presents herself. She's said numerous times that she doesn't know how she's going to perform once the music starts. It's all how she feels at the moment. There's only preparation and then whatever happens, happens. That is just who she is. No apologies for that. That's part of the message in this song. I personally believe as far as getting a ride on the bike or hitch hiking which today is a NO NO, is it was part of the setting, either she wanted or the producer of the video wanted, to give a sense of what the old school times were like. Hitch hiking was how we got around back then all the time. Also, they put older classic cars like the Corvette and Cadilac and the Harley and then the Route 66 sign they showed above the bar. All part of a 70's and 80's theme. Also this was filmed in Spain at one of the production companies many European sites and yet they show the sign that says American Bar. Maybe, I'm just over thinking it, but with Courtney I doubt it. She's very deliberate with how she goes about things her way n her preparations. Video company and Courtney worked well together. Kevin Bowe it should be noted worked with her online to co-write this and he produced the music. He's down to earth and knows what Courtney has gone through these past 4 years with the music industry to get her music released. She's recorded loads (as she has said in a Howie Mandel interview) of music, but we may never hear them since they were done under her old label.

i totally agree. I coming from music since childhood from 70 up to present that I've been disagreeing with the hitch-hiking comments as well as Route 66. Hitch-hiking back in the day even as far back as the 50's was a dangerous venture, but it represented the "Wanderer" venturing into the unknown of life, where it isn't always safe. the "street musician" going from bar to bar and in the U.S. Route 66 was that main route back in the day to get to where many movies were made about the "Cross Roads". The Bar in her video is her facing those who rejected her and thrown her out, because she wouldn't be what they demanded of her. So, she's on her own venturing through life on the road. And as you pointed out Bert Kevin Bowie knows this So, his influence is really seen here from the start when she's in the water, on the chair, which I really know what that's about. The Label industry will hate this, oh yah... I've had a person who totally agreed with me and had thought the same thing. All through the video she presses forward and never backward even if she isn't given the luxury to sit in the front seat. She pets the dog and says thanks out of respect that she got to move forward. Most people would have want to sit in the front seat and push the dog over. Courtney has an old soul in her heart. She sees the artistic value of the past of the art in music that was created and can feel it it's authentic creativity from the artist. Not like today. It's like when I watch black and white films even from the silent films that I just love. There's something in them that we lost in creative art and that was the actual art. Courtney is true art and authentic. It's so incredible to hear, like her new song "That Girl Don't Live Here No More". It has a 20's-40's Swing/Jazz tempo with a modern touch with her voice fitting so well. She has music in her blood and natural art, many will despise her for it, because they don't have that.

Hi Brandon. Always love your Courtney reactions. What you have to say is always so insightful and has a substance that most reactions don't even come close to. Looking forward to so much more of Courtney's music. 'Breakable' is an amazing debut original single by Courtney. This is both her first original released as well as her first release as an independent artist and she just hit a home run. Her vocals just soar in this incredible song, the lyrics are an emotional gut punch and the fabulous video just reinforces all of the emotion contained in this song visually. After years of fighting to release the music that she loved and having labels try and twist her into something she didn't want to be, Courtney finally decided to go it on her own. In a true testament to her, she achieved in two months, what the labels couldn't do in years. Besides being the voice of a lifetime, she is focused, driven, has an incredible work ethic and is an all around kind and cool person. A true role model in so many ways for all of us, who just also happens to have generational level talent. Everybody needs to get out and stream/watch this fabulous song. It is a masterpiece. Everyone has been burnt by someone or something in their lifetime, so this song will be relatable to so many people on a personal level. No one can touch your soul when she sings like Courtney and it feels like she is having a one on one conversation with your heart in this song. Now that she's in control of her own music, it was said to expect a release approximately every month. So I expect you'll be doing a good number of Courtney reactions going forward. She has already mentioned that her next release will be more uptempo and future songs should be in a wide variety of vocal styles. Courtney has a huge library of originals that she has written over the last few years, but between the lock downs and travel bans from Covid and issues with her label, she hasn't been able to release them. She has shared many of those originals, in whole or in part, with her fans, mostly over live chats on social media and everything she has shared has been sensational. She is a true powerhouse as a song writer. Can't wait to hear you doing many more future reactions to Courtney's own material. As great as her covers are, with her incredible vocals and off the charts creativity, she turns everything she sings into an original, but her own music will blow the covers out of the water.

Thank you for this! Your commentary is fascinating. As somebody who's been an enormous Courtney fan since AGT in 2018 and sought out her 2017 Voice Kids UK performances when it came out she was already something of a star in England, I have to say, the cover sessions already brought it down a notch🤣 I'm sure you already know what I mean just from her AGT audition. I didn't know how people would react to her doing a song more soft and slow than we've heard before, but you're absolutely right. She really doesn't need to use anymore of her vocal range and power (or dancing) than a song calls for. The reception this song has gotten proves that. But if you love over the top Courtney (and who doesn't) the rest of her AGT and VKUK performances are all on KZread and they're a barrel of fireworks. You probably got links to all of them in the comments of your reactions to the cover sessions so I won't load this comment with them. It's wonderful sharing this exciting moment in Courtney's career with somebody who really appreciates it, so Thank you again.

Courtney had a rough time after her AGT performances. After dodging the bullet with Simon, then having her career shot down by the pandemic, it's not a wonder that she felt damaged by the fickle finger of fate. Hopefully, this will validate the love we all have for her and allow her to take her rightful place on the music scene. I'll be there regardless. Your comments on her styling were interesting. I seem to remember her commenting on how she has to sing with an American accent as she has a heavy northern England brogue that some Americans describe as cockney. This is why, in my humble opinion, her diction seems cloudy. It is, for her, like singing in another language. I like to watch her interviews where her heritage gets a chance to come out. Courtney is also stage trained, so acting for her is more relaxed and she is certainly able to flex her style as she has worked for years to perfect using her voice. She will never be a one trick pony.

Courtney hinted she intends to release once a month, I assume that depends on sales matching her expenses. How is this song doing on the charts? It might not be a bad thing for her to finance the production herself at all, I NEVER heard that any ROCK music debut single becomes "viral" on TikTok, she will need to do live performance even just for her next music video production expense soon IMO. She did busking to pay her vocal coach when she was 11 which was the right thing to do.
