    I listened to it on the 1st day that it dropped, and I've still got it stuck in my brain. Every morning I wake up with it, without having any headphones or anything. Even with going to the shops with all of the background music, the boy racers with their loud engines and "music" blaring, watching TV... nothing has diminished the power of this gorgeously powerful song, with such a relatable message. Almost two weeks now, and still going, this is one fantastic song.

    Thanks, Randi--I know you really appreciate Courtney's unique voice and passion. She co-wrote this with Kevin Bowe, a well-respected songwriter who has written for some big names. Some of this is about music label issues, but I think also other disappointments. Courtney herself said it's about everything that's happened in the past 5 years. She will be releasing more soon, the next one likely a rocker!

    Hi Randi. Man, it's so good seeing you back doing a Courtney reaction. 'Breakable' is an amazing debut original single by Courtney. This is both her first original released as well as her first release as an independent artist and she just hit a home run. Her vocals just soar in this incredible song, the lyrics are an emotional gut punch and the fabulous video just reinforces all of the emotion contained in this song visually. After years of fighting to release the music that she loved and having labels try and twist her into something she didn't want to be, Courtney finally decided to go it on her own. In a true testament to her, she achieved in two months, what the labels couldn't do in years. Besides being the voice of a lifetime, she is focused, driven, has an incredible work ethic and is an all around kind and cool person. One thing about Courtney is when she wants to get something done nothing is going to stop her. A true role model in so many ways for all of us, who just also happens to have generational level talent. Everybody needs to get out and stream/watch this fabulous song. It is a masterpiece. As you said, everyone has been burnt by someone or something in their lifetime, so this song will be relatable to so many people on a personal level. No one can touch your soul when she sings like Courtney and it feels like she is having a one on one conversation with your heart in this song. You haven't reacted to Courtney for a while, but buckle your seat belt. Now that she's in control of her own music, it was said to expect a release approximately every month. So I expect you'll be doing a good number of Courtney reactions going forward. She has already mentioned that her next release will be more uptempo and future songs should be in a wide variety of vocal styles. Courtney has a huge library of originals that she has written over the last few years, but between the lock downs and travel bans from Covid and issues with her label, she hasn't been able to release them. She has shared many of those originals, in whole or in part, with her fans, mostly over live chats on social media and everything she has shared has been sensational. She is a true powerhouse as a song writer. Can't wait to hear you doing many more future reactions to Courtney's own material. As great as her covers are, with her incredible vocals and off the charts creativity, she turns everything she sings into an original, but her own music will blow the covers out of the water. BTW, you mentioned how beautiful the video location was. It was shot on the coast of Spain. It really is gorgeous there.

    Changes eh? I'm all for change. These undies were clean on o Jan 12th....LOL Not really, I haven't changed them since 1999. I know, disgusting, and untrue... I'm blad you went back to this stunning young lady. I was trying to think of her name a few weeks ago. This song hits hard from many angles, reminding us how fragile our hearts truly are. Brining back once buried memories of gut wrenching agony brought on by loss. That being said, this week may be a week of gain. Leah is contracting already, and her twins could be early!!!😃😃😃 The video is out of the ordinary. It seems to put on display the loneliness we feel when that someone special wont be with us. The hollow void we all have from time to time. Not sure about an armchair in a pond, in the middle of nowhere though. I think all grief would have been worked out of the system by the time we get the chair to some place as remote as this. Just my observation... But I do like this. It's one of those songs that's going to have a time and a place to fit everyone's heart brake, and help them clear the pain quicker. Nice one. Be well. TTFN.

    Great response to an exceptionally emotional song/video by Courtney. CH processes here (in my opinion) her "experiences" with the music industry. Remarkable the scene in which she says goodbye to the dog, not the driver! For me an earworm, it still occupies me every day. Also her 2nd own release stamps itself on everyone. To be emphasized are her texts (I think they are for the most part self-written), which she implements with her immeasurable vocal range or variability so that you can not pass in my opinion! Courtney will be a world star! My generation (66 years) is waiting for music that is emotionally charged and "honest" combined with a great energy (Courtney has enough of it) presented on stage. Best regards from Germany

    I've always love your reaction even from long ago. I strongly believe is a song about her transition from childhood to adult and the heartbreak in the music industry to change her and her way of wanting to do her music. When you're young you feel invincible and when you become and adult you realize you're heart can be broken and change you in how you look at things in life from a different view point. This song reminds me of her one original "Good Ol Days" because it seems to relate of how hard she strived as a child to be a singer and be on top and everyone knocking her down in the professional world and people in general. I'm so happy she went independent, because I didn't want to see her molded into a style she wasn't meant to be. This song really proves it. The video shows it too that no matter what you do in life there will people to destroy you and you have to learn from it and move on which is the hitch-hiking scenes. She's moving on, moving forward not backward and shows as a human how breakable we are even though we believe in ourselves to be strong. This is good song writing compared to the junk that's written today by music artists. But the industry isn't about that no more, it's about the biggest "trend" to make heavy profits and suck the artists dry till they die or destroyed. People didn't understand the sitting on a chair in the pond. I know what this means, and this is why I strongly believe the song is about what I stated earlier. Bert Painter is another one I believe understands the song for I believe he was in the industry for awhile too. His comments are always spot on if you want to know about Courtney Hadwin. :) I hope she finds her place in her adventures of life, she is earning it that's for sure.

    I totally agree with you, especially about the connection to Good Old Days. I hope that one day she releases that one fully polished, along with the full song of Keep The Monsters Away. I love her originality, and the way that she can do covers that are totally different genres to the original. She is just a phenomenal artist, in the purest sense, and I hope that she has many years of work n the industry to come, she was born for this.

    Great video, both your reaction and Courtney's 1st original release. Listened and watched this so much I find myself hearing it in my head off and on throughout the day. I think that's the sign of a great song. She's so freaking passionate. Very recognizable voice. This song is on all the media platforms like Spotify, Amazon music, itunes etc. So if you can go download it. We have to help support her since she's now independent. Thank god for that, as her label and music people did very little for her career as far as promoting her. She's done more on her own in the past 2 months than they have in 4 years. Go Courtney. What were they thinking??

  • @vincentboyd6165

    @vincentboyd6165

    HEY! How's it going? So, my thoughts of her going independent were spot on. a long time ago when I was sort of following her I left a comment on a Facebook thing she had and suggested she should go Independent Like Mcdonald. From having being around that world before I was getting the impression from her comments that they were trying to mold her into a music that wasn't her. And of course we know they love the youth and you look at Billie E. maybe that's where they were going and when she went to Pit what back in Dec 2021 to do some rock type music; I think she just said I'm going to do my own thing. when I left the industry it was for that very reason. So, many talented singers with great potential destroyed, because the label company refuses to use their talents as where the artists really fit into. it's always the next trend and used up so fast they can't create no more. Her new song "Breakable" if you listen close I think has to do with a lot of that. I think too she may have been heartbroken over the industry in how it treats it's artists. Which I believe her line, "trying to get back on my feet again", has to do with her transition from her youth to adult. All the let downs with her competitions and singing live that the struggle just makes her stronger and makes her believe in herself more and she won't be sorry for that. Many artists you see do that are having this apologetic trend for who they were in past to fit with those of the present in fear of being hated or canceled. My thing was even back then, her exposure to the youth to change to a more healthier music like Courtney's than this new wave of "woke" music. That was the cool thing about radio back in the day. My impression of her is that she's doing it for her self happiness and doesn't really mind if she doesn't become this next big thing. I really believe she just loves music and wants to be an artist to create it and live with the canvas she paints. She may have other ambitions it seems. That's good. I hope her the best in her adventures to come. Such a rare talent to see now-days.

    Yes she has opened up another side of her talents. But I still miss the upbeat tempo with her exciting moves. I think she needs to start releasing albums and cd's. Before that I believe she should go on stage, say a short tour and sing a few songs for an album the public hasn't heard yet. this way they'll start looking for a release of said song. but I could be wrong. I hope that happens eventually. She does belong on stage. @@vincentboyd6165

    You reacted previously to "Pretty Little Thing". She believed that to be her chance to realize her dream and things looked good when she signed a contract with Syco Music. Then Covid hit, concerts were canceled, Syco joined with Arista which then got bought by Sony, management (thus) didn't support her well (they probably wanted more covers and she wanted to do originals), records got put on hold, and, so, she waited 3+ years for the contract 1o run out and restart her career as an independent. This song is her first since going independent this year. The song was co-written with Kevin Bowe and th video was done in Costa del Sol, Spain,

    Don't think the problem was with her label wanting her to do more covers, because even Courtney kept mentioning on social media that she was learning to write her own music when she was at different locations after she 1st got signed in 2019. The sent her to a number of places to learn the ropes and write songs. She even mentioned working with Max Martin (one of the biggest song writers for the past 20 something years, but he was too much about pop music for her). I just think when COVID happened it stopped everything and then a year or 2 later while artists were slowly releasing music again, Courtney was still and lockdowns in the UK. When Sony bought all the rights to Simon's artists that he had signed, Sony chose to 1st release the established artists for the sure thing after Covid lightened up somewhat. I also believe the real problem for Courtney was her music people kept promising her her music would be released soon, and made her hang on to wishful dreams that never materialized. She always seemed to hint her music was coming soon and then nothing. And when she was asked when her music is coming out on Howie's podcast she wasn't sure and looked to her dad and the girl from her new team for an answer. I really think they just strung her along and this song is what she chose to release 1st when she finally got out of her contract on her own, possibly to vent. She answered a question I posted on one of her Instagram post when she said "Ask me anything and she'll answer if she can". So I did and asked her, "What this song was about" and said "It had to do with what she had dealt with for the past 4 or 5 years". Probable a culmination of music and personal stuff.

    @@bertpainter8385 Interesting perspective and I'm glad to hear some of this. Do you know anything on why things couldn't carry on during Covid via Zoom, KZread and streaming? That is, there seems to have been a fair amount of video shorts that came out from her doing music at home and/or studios during Covid so she had material. I'm surprised her mgmt didn't help clean up her Internet presence (her Wikipedia is way out of date) and help her regularly release things on KZread and Spotify (etc.) in ways that would be monetizable (for new stuff) and/or marketable (by keeping fans interested with free videos like the AGT audition). They had a hot property in 2019 -- keeping her in the fans' view would've been profitable for the label and still have given her time to mature as a songwriter and stage performer for when Covid passed. I'm ranting. I was impressed with her from the AGT audition -- she seemed a force of nature that needed to be seen/heard. I really hope she can turn it around as an independent...

    @@lurkerinthetube There's so much that went on that we don't know and that many speculate that might have happened. Courtney is good at keeping things under raps. But somethings we do know based on what Courtney herself has said is on rare interviews (such as the Howie Mandel podcast she did with him over a year now and also what she says to people who comment certain inside questions that at times she'll answer with a short but truthful reply. But we as fans still read into her answers more than we should. Howie's podcast with her is the most info we got about what she was doing and what she has done. For ex. when Howie ask her about recording music in the studios, she answered "I've recorded loads of music" That was when Max Martins name came up by both of them and she said he was about pop music. She didn't seem that excited about him to me. But she's gone live and went through her laptop to find a song or two, leading me to think she got to have an number of recorded songs in that laptop she recorded. "Love Hurts" is a a perfect ex. if you watched that live she did when she played that song from her laptop. As for recording during Covid online, she actually did just that with Kevin Bowe when she recorded "Happy Xmas". She's brought that up a few times as did Kevin. Another assumption on my part is that all those LOADS of songs she said to she recorded to Howie are under her Label and that she doesn't have the rights to use them. That's how it used to be when you were signed with a label early on until you get leverage. I also feel when Sony bought rights to Simon's signed artist Courtney was now 2 years past her AGT audition and Sony may have had other ideas about the artists they now owned and Courtney was on the back burner, but they may not have said that. Not too many artists had gotten started back up as Covid restrictions loosened up. Her manager early on was Larry Rudolph who was very well known and accomplished with big stars. I forget if he left Maverick during Courtney's time or what happened, but he or their teem did not come through with other options (Plan B or C, etc) Then their is the FM Frequency concert that was postponed during Covid that Courtney was scheduled to perform at. When it finally did happen it someone said they contacted FM Frequency people and they said she canceled. Not sure who made that decision. I doubt Courtney herself was going to give up that opportunity as she lives to perform on stage. Something happened for her to not go, IMO. Anyway there's lots of things that happened over the last 4 years after she got signed, that when you follow her closely and try to put everything together, you wonder now, what were her music people planning and then what were they telling her. She was always giving fans a few hints about her music should be soon. Were they telling her to say that or were they just telling her that. Covid for sure screwed everything for her, but Woodstock 50th anniversary concert that she was to perform at shortly after getting signed the following summer, was canceled due to Woodstock's people screwing up and their financing backed out months before it was to happened. That concert was perfect timing for Courtney to make a big move in her career. Sony or Arista never said much about her publicly. It's been mentioned that they wanted to change her. If she didn't go along with that idea, could be why she got the run around if that even happened. Like I said lot's of speculations based on the little bit Courtney herself says. It's her business, and I don't blame her one bit for keeping that stuff from the public eye. Things have a way of coming back to bite you in the ass when you say too much with the people who write things and definitely the media. Hopefully I typed most everything correctly, cause I'm not going back to proof read any of it. Too Long 😁
