To everyone concerned with Thumbelina's weight🐾 Unfortunately, the vets diagnosed her with congenital health problems, which inhibit her metabolism. Because of that, she will always carry some extra weight. Fortunately, she is feeling well and her diet is being carefully monitored😊

I'm a 68 year old man from Oklahoma that admits this was so special to me. You are good people and she is a good member of your family. I live in rural Oklahoma that has an abundance of wildlife, particularly Squirrels. Most people don't know that they mate for life and if you find one dead on the road, you will soon find the other as they won't leave their mate. I have Cancer and not long to go. You made my day so much better. I'm sick of just hearing about politics, war and hate. I've had a lifetime of that. With my situation and the world around me, I get a bit depressed (of which I can never share with my wife. She suffers enough knowing my health). So time to time, I need a tiny light in the darkness I find myself in. You did that for me with this. Thank you for sharing. I don't think people understand how content like this, can really make a difference in a persons day so Thank You! PS. Give her all the Avocado's she can eat. I'm still smiling We (and I) desperately need good people like you.....and of course your cuddle buddy.

I completely understand and respect your situation with your wife, illness is hard for everyone and when it's fatal the fear and anxiety both spouses feel is too much to bare sometimes. Thumbelina is certainly a very healthy, round squirrel. Soneone's been taking care of her. She's a sweet pea.💜♥️💜🥰

Unfortunately, Thumbelina was born with some health issues that make her a bit heavy.

SUCH A SWEET LITTLE SOUL HARD TO BELIEVE HOW BIG OF A PERSONALITY CAN FIT IN THAT TINY LITTLE BODY GOD LOVE THAT SWEETHEART

I'm glad she's doing 'well'. My squirrel is wild and I try to keep her that way. She visits on a daily basis, comes in, I sit with her, but she goes eventually. She can be vocal at times too when she wants something. But, basically, I observe, and spend time with her. It's both for me, and for her. I look forward to her visits.

Absolutely! 🌿 Squirrelly Girl found her perfect place in the world.

Squirrelly Girl was found by a tree trimmer in October as a baby. She couldn’t be released in winter so she overwintered. I collected bags of acorns, hickory nuts and black walnuts to teach her to eat wild food. Come springtime, she was released and came back in an open window the next day. She spent 91/2 years with me.

Fat animals are unhealthy. It is the humans responsibility to keep their animal healthy, and these owners are failing. It's not cute to look at an unhealthy animal who is allowed to eat it's way into health issues just because it looks "cute" Small animals especially have issues when allowed to get this bulky.

I have had a few wild squirrel friends, They are just so sweet once they know you'll not harm them. Spent every morning by driving to the beach to hang with a squirrel friend. It would sit in my lap and just let me pet it, miss that lil thing, Amazing what joy knowing something trusts you can bring.

So much good nutrition for Thumbelina. I love when she was having an ice cream with Mom - the way she held the avodcado cone is adorable! In the beginning of the video, the shot of her digging in the sprinkles showed me that no expense is spared for Thumbelina's enrichment and playtime, in addition to affection and nutrient-rich food for the little doll. Love her!

The way she run after the avocado just made my day :)

Doing the right things, especially for others in need just making you feel good to your very core. May your empathy and compassion for others be the thing that makes you shine bright on gloomy days.

She is precious! I raised a baby squirrel 6 months ago. Her eyes were closed for the first 2 weeks that i found her. After 2 months i found a rehaber that would take her and i regret letting her go every day. Emma was the most beautiful thing i ever seen and i bonded with her so much it ripped my heart out letting her go. We can't keep them in Wisconsin😢 They are such wonderful creatures! 😊😊😊

@@notme2day Thank you for your kind words. She was so dehydrated and close to being dead when i found her that it was a miracle she even pulled through. Trying to warm her up and get pedialyte in her the first few hours was the turning point. Waking to feed her every 2 hours formed a bond that i cannot explain. I knew i couldn't release her in my yard as i have a neighbor that enjoys killing them. He has killed over 20 this past year alone as he traps them and drowns them and dumps the dead bodies out in the back yard to make sure i see them. It was bad enough he killed Mr. BENTLEY that would come into my house but i couldn't let that happen to Emma. Thanks for you kindness, you have a good heart!

She was beyond precious and i couldn't just release her by me as my neighbor kills all my squirrels here because he is evil beyond words. I didn't save her to watch him drown her. Squirrels definitely have a special place in my heart. 💗

I have a squirrel named Bongle. He is so inquisitive and a little comedian. Thst little squirrel is precious. 💜

Severely overweight. Love your work, but not sure about sprinkles or jam in a squirrels diet.😊

Thank you for saving Thumbelina, Christiana. It's so sad her nest fell down. Who knows where her Mom went. It is amazing that you helped Thumbelina survive from before her eyes were even open. I love your commitment to her and the way you keep watch to see if a sinus infection, etc might be coming on. Thank you for all you do to rescue wildlife with your partner. ❤

You guys are awesome, it’s so good to know that there’s somebody out there like me, loves wild animals, lets the animals be free and happy and explore. I do have to let you guys know that she probably needs to be lighter weight, because that’s gonna shorten her life, and I say that with a lot a lot of love for her and respect for you guys.

Please ignore the rude people who criticize your for Thumbelina being too big. If it weren't for you, Thumbelina would not have survived the first night! Recently during a regular vet visit with my beautiful and healthy cat, a vet tech who I had never met before came over to tell me my cat is "tubby". I was so annoyed. I just said, she is healthy and beautiful. What I wanted to say is: "And you are dumpy!" But I took the high road and just took my precious cat home when the vet had finished examining her.

It's possible she's getting sinus infections because she's eating things she wouldn't normally in the wild. She also looks a touch overweight. They say she's on a strict diet, but squirrels don't eat jam or avocados etc in the wild. She's definitely living a good life, but a more natural diet would probably help her.
