This is a reworking of Norman Watson's 1973 reggae track "Peeping Tom", or as it is also known "Rasta Army". It's probably on KZread somewhere, check it out!

There is also "Satan" by Justin Hinds, from 1965. But anyways, this is a great adaption, and knowing the pre-text only adds context and dephts. This song accomplishes to cheer up without embellishment - a needed art in these times.

I love Cornershop! I always have, since I first heard When I Was Born for the Seventh Time. Their whole aesthetic is just great. It is such a pity the band isn't more popular in the States. But they're in good company in that regard: Roni Size, Nikka Costa, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, et al. I'm so glad they're still at it!

Oddly, this chorus sounds like the verses in 'gimme hope Johanna' - isn't it westernised oriental gentleman?

@@CornershopHQ It stands for westernised oriental gentleman, so in this case it's pure racism.
