And people prefer pleasant, they are not in the wrong for that. when its stripped down like this and without any electronics, it becomes way more pleasant so most people like it this is not a jab at artists who do heavy music, personally I love metal and most associated genres to it, but Ill always understand why most people dont like heavier things, they are not in the wrong, if anything it makes complete sense

She got sick and I stuck by her, quit my job to take care of her, put my dreams and wishes on hold for 2 years to make sure she was cared for. Then when she got better and I needed some care for my mental health, at first she was supportive, but on the day she didn't want to stick around, didn't care and cut me off. Turns out she had someone else lined up who didn't need help with mental health. So yeah a week later I played this song just before I was about to attempt suicide, but luckily I was stopped and got the help I needed.

This song is one he wrote with the help of his best friend Paul Gray. Evidently it became Paul Grays favorite song, sadly Paul passed away. So now at every live show, Corey plays this song as a tribute to Paul. The emotion you hear in his voice and can see in his expression when getting to certain lines are genuine, it’s hard for him to sing this song, which is why the audience helps him by singing it with him. Corey's, as a comedian, would describe as a comic that doesn't write jokes. Comics that don't write jokes have stories. Corey is a musician with stories. He doesn't sing for a pay check he creates music because it's his expression. When I get on stage I talk about the day, not work new material all the time. I don't got material, I got shit to talk about. When people give you genuine expression it hits different. You can feel when someone is selling you a lie or their soul. That's my opinion. This hits because everyone can relate drastically. It's just a man with a guitar at any bon fire after the mushrooms hit and he got the answers he sought. Simple. Beautiful. Profound. Priceless. Get it on vinyl.

That's what life is right? Eventually most of us can always relate in some way or another. People have a habit of thinking (often when something bad happens) that nobody could know their pain. But that's just not true. Chances are most people actually can. Very few people get thru life without losing someone they love. Unless of course you're a sociopath or a psychopath or something in which case you're gonna get thru life without caring about anyone but yourself (just hopefully don't end up a serial killer or something). Hurray for small favors!

Anyway, we did the thing for a decade, me and Quan moved to the city but big dude stayed and got married to a woman and had 2 beautiful babies. Years went by and I got a call from his mom that he died in a car accident he caused by drinking and driving. That devastated me because I am the group alcoholic. That was supposed to be me. Not him. He never fucking called to talk about his problems. He bottled them up but I knew I should've known better to talk to him more but my problems were taking all my time. One thing I love about music, and really all art in general, is that it ceases to belong to you once you release it. Sure, it was written about something important to you (the artist), but every fan is going to connect with the lyrics in different ways and different parts will be meaningful to some that are filler for others....and thats okay. Its one thing that makes music absolutely beautiful. Thats also why I've never cared if a song wasn't about a thing that happened to the one writing it. It shouldn't matter whose story it is for it to have an impact. Take the song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day. Billie Joe said he wrote it about the death of his father I think. The music video, though, shows a young couple in middle america torn apart by the war in iraq/afghanistan. To a lot of people, the song is about 9/11/2001 and a "war on terror" that has lasted until this year, a war that has left countless men and women widows, countless mothers childless, and countless veterans traumatized for life. It seemed like September 11 went on and on and on and on and on, and in a way it did. Both meanings can be true. Same with this song exactly like you said. It started about a girl, but when Paul died the lyrics hit different. It could be that he doesn't even think of the girl anymore when he hears this, and thats okay. Maybe he thinks of both. I have always been a writer and lover of words and how they can both cut you like a knife and give a profound sense of relief even decades later. Sometimes only 1 line has meaning to the listener, and thats okay too. I don't really have a point...just waxing poetic about the beauty of music I guess. Must be Monday.

A famous poet from the early 1800s named Lord Tennyson wrote a poem with a similar theme.... "They said that love would die when hope was gone... And love sorrowed long when hope was gone.... Finally love met memory and trod the same paths she used to walk with hope... Memory fed the soul of love with tears..." something like that... It's a pretty deep poem...

The song was written about his addiction and marriage that fell apart because of it. Paul passed away less than a year after its release.. From then on he dedicated it to him, because Paul championed that song to get finished in the first place. And, it's quite fitting as well. 😓 He DID do the acoustic version specifically for him though.

Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down. At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory." - Corey Taylor "Corey doesn't really write music for Slipknot - but, when he came over to hear the songs Paul [Gray, bassist] and I were working on for All Hope Is Gone, he showed me this… I had him lay a scratch track down in the studio. Then I went in late at night, without telling him, and laid down some drums… When he heard it the next day, he started crying. It's Corey's masterpiece." - Joey Jordison (Slipknot, drums)

Corey is an amazing human as well as a solid vocalist across virtually any genre of music that you can throw at him, the best part is that he greets it all with a smile 😊 It has been quite an amazing experience sitting on this side of the screen and being able to follow you throughout your journey into the more 'extreme' side of the musical spectrum. It is unbelievably refreshing to be able to see and share your experiences when you expose yourself to so many completely new and unknown artists solely on the recommendations of your peers and followers. Just witnessing those precious moments of excitement, surprise, and a pure honest appreciation for your craft without holding any reservations as to who or wherever the source of that sound originates from is such a beautiful thing for you to share with, and make us a part of also as it brings back all of those feelings that we experienced in that moment when we were hearing these sounds for the very first time which in turn breaths new life into our inner child and allows us to reconnect with them which is just priceless! For this I wanted to say a heartfelt ❤💛💚 T H A N K Y O U 💚💛❤ I won't go into much detail about either mine or my family's involvement in the Metal industry over the past 30+ years, all I will say is that it has been quite heavily involved both as musicians as well as in a journalist capacity. (If you are so inclined a quick Google search will tell that story) My oonly reason for mentioning the above is I suppose to somewhat give a little bit of weight to the following recommendations of tracks / bands that I would love for you to experience as these 2 bands in particular have created some of the most influential sounds that have shaped my life, spanning from the late 80's / early 90's up until this very day. I'm sure that you will find a great deal of common ground with my first nominee as there are two main points that really make this group stand out. One being that the vocalist has a bit of a quietly known / well kept background in Classical Opera. The other is that from day#1 this self described 'concept' band created a fictitious narrative (which I'll leave you to discover) and have continued to build upon & evolve the storyline via a graphic novel thay accompanies each of their 10 studio albums. How they describe it is that each album is the soundtrack to a movie that was never made. They have since solidified themselves as one of the pioneering powerhouses & innovators of metal today. Anyway, that's enough for the longest into ever! Nomination # 1 - : Fear Factory - Resurrection kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJODqqyxfpypYbw.html I'll keep this one short and sweet as this has already turned into a novel with poor character development and no plot twist... Another heavy hitter in the history books of Metal are these folks who were one the groups that paved the way for experimenting with the standard 'formula' for metal & often successfully blending everything from classical, to country swing, even dabbling in a bit of gangster rap whilst continuing to develop & mature their sound. So here we go! Nomination # 2 - : Machine Head - Now We Die kzread.info/dash/bejne/rIedraeNcs2ngs4.html Apologies again for writing such an extensive piece on here, it seems my writing days aren't quite done yet & as you know when something deeply excites you, well? This happens... Anyhoo, Thank you again so very much for doing everything that you do and for sharing your passion with us in such an inclusive & informative way. Both you and all of your efforts are appreciated! Especially throughout the last 24 months of a world gone mad.... ❤💛💚🎵🎶🎵💚💛❤ ✌😎🤘

I mean, people that study music to the point of really 'mastering' it and making a living from it (like her) are definetely more sensitive to music in comparison to other people. It means that people like her experience stronger emotions when exposed to music, wich causes strong physical reactions.
