Copied Songs in Bollywood || RD Burman special || Part 01

Ойын-сауық

R.D.Burman to Pritam everyone copied(fully/partly) or influenced by songs of other country. Don't understand why do they stress on original while judging reality shows when they themselves haven't been original.
Here is the list and some of the samples ....YOU DECIDE.

I personally like old Hindi Music and grew up listening to Mohd Rafi and Kishore Da. Bollywood being influenced by global music is not a problem, but not giving credit is. Our public is so straightforward and trusting that they are not aware that our God like music directors, behind closed doors, love to copy tunes from around the world and pass it off as original. Creating original music is not easy. It can take many months and a lot of trial and error to compose one. Even after that song may flop. Success ratio is less than 10%. But have we wondered how our music directors quickly churn out 80% or 90% hit songs from a single movie in just a few days? You guessed it - by copying! But thanks to KZread, it cannot remain hidden for long 😀. I think there is plenty of talent in India that can create great original music loved by people around the world. However this can happen only after we stop glorifying copied music.

The big problem in our Bollywood industry and even all other film industries in India is that each and every film compulsorily needs to have atleast 5-6 songs or sometimes even 8-10 songs in it as well.. I personally feel some movies don't need any songs at all, but we've seen a thriller or a horror film in India having 8-10 songs 😆😆... So say if for example Bollywood makes 200 films in a calender year, that means it'll need minimum of 1000 songs to be created per year in total by that industry.. Now I am not an expert of creating songs but say for example an orginal song overall takes 10-15 days to be written and created or maybe even less.. So that means by that pace and considering other factors, the Music Directors will only be able to create 200-250 original songs in a year, or even less.. This wide gap of say 750+ songs not being able to create originally at a good pace has given rise to such malpractices of Plagiarism... Its all a game of Demand and Supply.. The demand for more movies and more songs has given rise to such Plagiarism.. I'm not justifying the acts of Plagiarism by Music Directors here because I too am against this, but just stating some facts for giving clarity for the rise and rise of Plagiarism of songs and even movies in Indian Films 😊👍

Hamad Sheik but coming to the root of the basis of your assumption in relevance to this video, of rd burman being inspired by the west, true, but he has created marvellous music beyond imagination, that is unique only to him, and can;t be found either in west, east north or south. The instrumental arrangements, the tunes, the musical effects and everything. he has created his own musical instrument setups, experiemented by dropping a drum-stick(don't know what exactly it is called) on a tabla to produce a sound, has made a singer gargle water to record it and use it as an eerie background score in a movie. Such ideas are unique only to him! and yeah, seeing your point in absolute, west has been of tremendous influence on the world, but India has also inspired West, albeit in less publicized areas, such as Science, mathematics etc. Many of the great western scientists that have helped shape the world with their work owe a lot to India's contrubution in Math and Physics. Spirituality was majorly was taken from India, and was adapted to across the world! Yoga has changed the world, and has stilll been changing it, and it has originated from India.

it's other way around also. OP Nayyar was copied by IVY York with OP Nayyar permission. But the salient point worth mentioning here is that RD Burman greatly enhanced the original tune in his inimitable style. We had many such legendary MDs like SD Burman, Naushaad, Shankar Jaikishen, Salil Chowdhary, Laxmikant Pyrelal, Roshan, Madan Mohan, Chitragupta etc. We shouldn't belittle our past legacy. Younger generations don't know their greatness.

For example, we only read what others have already done, mug that up, vomit that on the exam papers and get our grades and say oh wow how brilliant that student is, and then get a job. Atleast RD created many original songs as well apart from so called 'copying', right!!!! Within 12 notes altogether.... what have we done in life????

R D Burman created some great original compositions also. In his prime, he was doing many films in a year and every film of that time had 7-8 songs. It is an impossible task for any creative person to come up with original ideas and completing expectations of profucers and directors. Don't misunderstand these musical geniuses because they got inspired from other countries music. It happens everywhere, even some english songs are copied from hindi songs. Music directors of current generation are also getting inspired from other music to create their own. It is their compulsion "Paapi pet ka sawaal hai". Listen to "kuch to log kahenge", "Jaanejan dhundta fir raha", "ye kya hua"...the list will go on. Rd burman was way ahead of its time when he created whole "amar prem" album - these songs are still relevant.
