I like the fact that the dog had the best dog life any dog could ever have. No leash, able to run around as he pleases. Able to run around his natural habitat, Had an owner who really loved him. Probably never on a diet because he exercised and burned off the calories as well as burned them off to stay warm. And at the end of the day had a nice warm house to stay in and out of the bitter cold nights. And I bet Lilly never walked around with a bag of dog shit in her hand.

"around his natural habitat", i don't know how people think like that about dogs, they're not wolves the wild is not their natural habitat they were made by humans to live around humans for certain jobs, and if you mean locking a dog inside a house with not much space then i'm sorry i agree with you

So glad to have found your videos! Great ideas, and also, good demonstration of skills. I am a 54 year old woman who loves doing the same things. Not too many people my age out there building shelters in the woods, and although I spend a lot of time in the woods, I've only built one debris shelter. This gets me motivated! My skills aren't near yours, so you are an inspiration to me. Thanks!

I was watching your video and I think that people take for granted the amount of camera work that went in to it because of the many many different angles and zoom levels and framing of the shots. That's what makes the video really enjoyable to watch. Really well done camera wise. Many thanks.

Thanks for inspiring me to improve my own videos. You are one of my favorites.

Better if u cook the bacon on the shovel first, since you have an oil..Then after you can put the eggs in a lowheat, add some salt and eat it as a whole or stir your eggs with a cut cleaned branch chopsticks..You cannot afford to be sick if your surviving in a harsh environment..But still you did a great job..And also you may want to heat the shovel first before adding some oil to lessen the bacteria on the shovel..Healthier life means surviving longer specially in the wilderness 😊

Different firesteel this time, but if you still use the one with a wooden handle here's a tip I picked up from a former USAF SERE instrutor. Replace the ordinary wood with fatwood, you will then have a supply of it with you and can scrape shavings from it to use for tinder. Great videos Lily, keep up the good work and continue to enjoy the great outdoors.

+2501 Making char cloth. Put cotton (I think...can't remember) inside a metal box with a small hole then heat it up. The cloth chars but doesn't burn. You can use that to ignite with a source of sparks then once ignited you can use it to start a fire. The trick is to control the amount of oxygen in contact with the cloth so it chars rather than completely burning up. I used to use gauze bandages to make char cloth then used the char cloth in a fire piston.

Awesome videos Lilly and thank you! Outstanding video content always, and you are among a very short list of "survivalists" video content developers who actually walk the talk and truly work on developing your craft while providing a forum that teaches the rest of us. I've without a doubt (admittedly I have not seen all content provider videos on youtube yet lol) have learned a whole heap of knowledge and you've instilled some fantastic ideas and problem solving abilities...priceless information and I am committed to watching your entire series of videos. Your pup is truly hilarious on top of it all, and absolutely an independent sole in love with life. He too has much to teach, as we can learn a lot from a pup who lives in the right now and truly enjoys life. Dogs are the best and yours is no exception. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge and allowing us to tag along with you as you develop and hone your bushcraft expertise. Most channels out there that I have seen, although informative in many respects, lack the credibility that yours projects, because you are actually doing what you are teaching. Keep it up and thank you!

Hi S/L, I've been impressed with you for quite some time now having seen your SRK review and subsequently getting one for myself and watching much of your videos since. Yet now I'm even more impressed with seeing you cook eggs on your snow shovel, especially since I have the same one I use in my emergency snow gear bag, never thought of ditching the handle for weight reduction and just making one as needed. FYI, you're an awesome inspiration and role model that I shared with my three 23y/o daughters that have been in Search and Rescue since they were 12. I look forward to all of your future shared experiences and reviews, and as they say these days, thanks for keeping it real! ...Jeff

Love the shovel. The only advice I will offer is, when making a shelter, if you can see through it/see light then it needs more work.

I'm a 61 year old woman sitting in front of my computer in Tucson, AZ. I'm a big fan of Lily and her Dog. I grew up primitive camping but don't get out much anymore. I admire that Lily uses basic tools to achieve her goals. The bacon and egg techniques blew me away. Never seen that before.

Another great vid Lilly. I have the same shovel, marked made in Norway. I have had it for 30 years but I never thought to cook on it. My personal favorite pot is a non-stick British mess tin and lid. Looking forward to your next vid. BTW my dog comes over to see Dax when he is panting.

Hey there Lilly, I am sure you mention it somewhere in the comments but, where are you from and where do you film your videos? Love your fire wall and debris shelter, well done. I spend most of my time in the wilderness honing my primitive skills and working on various bushcraft and woodcraft projects. I have yet to met a girl that is as dedicated to the wilderness and bushcraft as I am, but watching your videos gives me hope that I will. Your videos are very well put together and are very peaceful to watch. Keep em coming! Cheers, -Dogfish
