Contoura Vision: Laser Eye Surgery for Astigmatism ( Topography-guided LASIK, PRK)

Ғылым және технология

In this video we present our current preferred LASIK treatment profile for correction of refractive errors with significant corneal astigmatism.
Contoura Vision is a customized topography-guided treatment profile available on the Wavelight EXcimer LASER platforms, and it allows the correction of refractive errors while aiming to reduce or eliminate corneal higher-order aberrations.
It also allows adjustment of the corneal asphericity, making it ideally suitable for vision correction in the extreme range of refractive errors.
It may also be successfully used in cases with irregular astigmatism such as corneal scarring or ectasia.
We detail our Contoura Vision Femto-LASIK technique in a patient with significant corneal astigmatism and history of vernal keratoconjunctivits
Feel free to comment on what is your prefered technique for correction of astigmatism: Wavefront-guided vs Topography guided vs Custom Q?

I just gone through this surgery and my right eye got starburst issues meaning driving in night time is big hassle. Any object which has little light, will be hard to see clearly. I never had any extra issues than vision. I am little disappointed.

The flap is removed with a iron/steel instrument ,wouldn't that cause scratching or wounding of the eye

No, it won’t wound the eye. It is extremely sharp and cutting tissue which heals rapidly. Look at cataract surgery. We literally cut two slits along the margin of the cornea, insert tools into the anterior chamber (between cornea and lens, inject a viscous fluid into the anterior chamber to maintain the support of the cornea, incise and remove the anterior face of the lens capsule, phacoemulsify the lens (ultrasonic emulsification and removal), flush out any remaining debris, insert a prosthetic implant called an intraocular lens into the lens capsule, flush the anterior chamber to remove the viscous support fluid, add antibiotics, remove the tools, and maybe a small suture. Otherwise, the eye rapidly seals and heals. Biology and science are neat. I know people who have had this procedure, and lasik, and their lives are so much better. They may not be absolute cures for the degraded vision. However, they massively improve vision from its prior state.

I wish I was also born in some western country. So I too would have been rich and with that money I could get my eyes treated. I have eye floaters in my eyes. And the number of my glasses of one eye is -9.5 and the number of the other is -10. I see very little without glasses and sometimes I have pain in my eyes. I wish I was also born in some western country. There is a lot of poverty in my country India. oh god give me next birth in some western country

@@tarunsheladiya1732 It's cheaper if you are Western. But expensive if you are Indian, because it's relative to how much money an Indian person makes. Also, it's generally safer in the the U.S regardless.

@@johnnyvishnevskiy8090 One day India too can be as nice as the USA, but you'll have to work hard with your brothers. It takes time, and for people to stay and fight instead of running away to richer countries. Peace to you.
