Raphinha completely sucked at left wing every time we tried him and now on the biggest stage he delivers

Raphina never "sucks" , its fake fans like you who insult our players and coaches who are the problem.

I thinks its down to managers instructions. He was more of a 4th midfielder than a LW

Hey Dan, thanks for bringing this guest in. Much better than the last two. I love your podcast, but some of your guests tend to completely high jack your podcast and don’t really contribute to the conversation and derail off topic. I listen to your podcast because I want to hear what you have to say and if there’s a guest, it’s only to add to the conversation and they must offer their opinions, they must adhere to the topic being discussed. Thank you for making these podcasts.

Xavi allowed freedom to player to just go for it. Incredible things could happen in this type of scenario…and did!

Good discussion Dan. To me the real story is how Barca has managed its setbacks and challenges- lack of squad depth,on and off injuries, FPP and adapted with available assets- young and older to reach where we are today . I still feel we have something to prove this year. We will see. One event can suddenly change a season and fortunes. I like it when the team is doubted then they respond to the challenge so let doubts come and it will bode well for us. Our game will not be pretty but we will get things done. Sadly Romeu is the only player who has been negatively consistent. We will see Visca Barca

The huge effect of Cubarsi long pass is that it destabilizes opponents press. It creates fear and indecision about being too aggressive on the press. This spreads that defensive block and makes everything easier for Barca midfield and forwards. This is something that busquets did in his own way. You could not press him and he could pick a pass. That’s what has been missing since he left. The press resistance.

Thank you Dan for this great podcast episode. I’m especially a big fan of your guest- Pablo. On a different note, Romero was horrible against Napoli. lol. He passed the ball to a Napoli player- who nearly scored bc of Romero’s horrific decision.

Raphina has been very good for Barca, and when we needed it. He was more productive than Dembele and Lamine. He def doesnt get enough recognition.

Dan, what do you think about moving Cubarsi to pivot and Andreas Christensen to centreback. Curbasi is good at sensing danger, good at defending, very physical foe his age, good with positioning and very good with his progressive passing and defense splitting passes. Cubarsi would definitely protect the backs while linking up nicely with the forwards. He would be a Declan Rice on steroids

Gundogan isn't a true midfielder?? WTH? Barca fans are the worst. Roberto is a hero and Xavi is a genius. Such short memories. If Pedri or FDJ was available Xavi would have polayed them and their slow plodding style. He'd probably start Ferran over Yamal. Roberto has been on the field and directly responsible in almost every premature CL exit in last 5 years, but he assists a garbage extra goal and now he's a hero? Comical. And sad.

I don’t know what you mean a garbage extra goal. When Roberto assisted. That goal gave Barcelona more sense of calm. Knowing there up by two with 10-15 min left. It’s true de jong and Pedro slow the game way to much. But come on let’s just be happy about winning. As a Barca fan we haven’t had a lot of this moments in the past years

@@richardbolanos7151 It means it was superfluous. It didn't matter, just like Roberto doesn't matter. I don't want to hear anymore about wasting money and a roster spot on the likes of Roberto, the most boring inconsequential player in the history of a barca sweater

Those who listened to the whole episode and has better comprehension can make their own judgement here. I never got that they dismissed Gundogan at all, in fact quite the opposite.
