“The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not “the thinker.” The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter - beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace - arise from beyond the mind. You begin to awaken.” - Eckhart Tolle.

Wonderful interpretation!👌❤️ very beautifully explained the power of non reaction, which is the central core teachings of Sanatana Dharma ie Hinduism the great Shankarachary in Vivek chudaamani says patiently bear all dukhas, sorrow's, misery without least resistance सहनम् सर्व दुःखानां अप्रतिकार पूर्वकम् चिन्ता विलाप रहितम् रहितम् सा तितिक्षा निगद्यते means bear patiently all sorrows without least resistance and without self projections ie without anxiety and worries and fears that's true endurance patience Ekhart truly brought the essence of this great truth in his own inimicable style..he himself is a personification of this truth. Dramatically he presented how an egostic man would have reacted.. simply wonderful!

I think this would make a great movie! I would like to see how the zen master non-reacts to a crying kid at 2 am or when the baby tries to crawl out of the house and into a patch of poison ivy. I think it would be better than a parenting manual.

With non-reaction it is meant not to re-act out of your conditions. But of course you have to act in daily life.

Sleep by the baby, baby cries, you feed it. Baby crawls into a patch of poison ivy, you treat it. Right? I think I got it right 😂I love your idea, though. Parenting manuals are mostly trash and all we ever really need are good examples, period. You might be interested in the Korean film "The Way Home." There's some serious non-reactivity in that movie. Many people have used it as a supplement to their parenting manual :)

How about the ultimate Zen master, Jesus Christ? He said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scriptures said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ “ (John 7:38). He also said, “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.” (Matthew 10:29). Christ uttered the words of life, constantly baffling and amazing all those who listened to Him. And He said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.” (Matthew 11:25-26). When we talk about men who were truly masters, let us not forget the One True Master. “Jesus said to them, ‘Did you never read in the Scriptures, “The stone which the Builders rejected, this became the Chief Corner stone; this came from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes”? ‘And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust.’” (Matthew 21:42, 44). God bless you, my fellow spiritual travelers and seekers of God and of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. God bless you Eckhart. Ps. I just found out that when broken into two parts, “Eckhart” means “hard corner” in German (“eck” meaning corner and “hart” meaning hard). I thought that was quite synchronistic because I had just quoted the Bible passage about Christ being the Chief Corner stone which was rejected by the Builders and then I decided to look into what “Eckhart” means in German so I put “eck” and “hart” into my Google Translate app. “Tolle” means “great”. So “Great hard corner” basically. Amazing!🙏😃👍
