Competition Rib Recipe
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
My latest competition rib recipe. It hasn't won yet but I did manage a second place call with it on the first and only try. I know that is no better than last place but it's a start. I am sharing this competition rib recipe with you for two reasons. First, I appreciate each and every one of you and thought I give you a quick rib recipe that might someday win you some money. Second is that I never write anything down so I might forget the recipe. Using the Tube as my own personal recipe book helps me out and hopefully helps you all out someday. That's it. Done rambling. Hope you enjoy today's show. MOJO is Out.........

@MOJoBarbeque New to the smoking world. So far I only have a pellet smoker and was wondering would you set the smoke to the same temp as and offset for these ribs? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
@MojoBarbeque
Жыл бұрын
I would. I cook at all different temps. Alot of it is how much time I'm willing to spend cooking that day. I go alot by how the finish product looks and feels more than time and temp. I know that sounds confusing but you will figitbout the more you cook. When you cook the best rack of ribs you've ever had., you will remember how the looked and how that probe felt as it slid into the meat. Best of luck learning. It's a great hobby.

Once again another tasty looking video from you. Just to let you know, I have your rubs sitting right in between Mr. Reed and Mr. Riles rubs so I’d say you’re in good company in “my” pantry cabinet. I am wondering where a fella might be able to find one of them spiffy MoJo BBQ hats. The only thing I ever see on your MoJo BBQ shop page are your rubs.
Hey Jay I was looking to buy some of your rub. Any key differences between the mojo beef and the mojo bbq? Any one of those you like more than the other?
@MojoBarbeque
2 жыл бұрын
BBQ is more on the sweeter side of the rub spectrum. It contains a handful of different sugars which comes out more than the savory notes. It has proven itself on pork and chicken multiple times. Beef is more of your savory notes you expect in the smoked meats business. I use it as an AP alot of the time. Using the two together I've won steak contests and bbq contests
Do you soak your wood chunks?
So was it 2.5hrs total time before wrapping or 2.5hours of spritzing after the first hour (equalling 3.5ish total) before wrapping?
@hectorgomez502
2 жыл бұрын
I assume 2.5 total time before wrapping. That's about how long mine normally take to get that color.
Can't believe only 2nd place!
