Like Compassionate Leadership, candor shows care but in a different way. It speaks about the expectation for the individual, why that level wasn't met and what can be done to get back to that level.
The key is how you communicate.
It is understanding how to help in a way that gets the most impact, and also blends what is best for the individual involved.
Good leaders blend the two methods depending on the situation.
