    @@BreakingPintMedia I ended up with the champion 100573 for remote start, and the champion in this video (duel fuel). The 573 is a beast, it’s not as quiet but it cranks after months of not starting on the first pull or push of the remote start. Great option if the quietness isn’t that big of a deal cause the remotes great.

    Nice review. I currently have a 2015 Champion 3100W inverter gen. As of now the generator has 4700 Hrs. of run time on it. I installed an Hr. meter when I bought it. I use it to power my camper at deer camp every year. I run the gen about 650 to 700 hours each season. So far I have changed the oil once a season, approx. 650 Hrs. I cleaned the Carb last year ( not rebuilt just cleaned ) Got a new air cleaner too. This Gen has worked perfect and has NEVER EVER failed me. I have never adjusted the valves or even changed the original spark plug. ( if it ain't broke don't fix it ) IOW my little champion gen is awesome. I will buy another Champion when I need a new generator. I plan on adjusting the valves, and replacing the spark plug this year. I'm not really sure that is a good idea but I am going to do it anyway. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Real life experience with a Champion Gen. Brand loyalty here. Just saying. Once again, 4700 hours of reliable use, always starts, always works. BTW I only use NON Ethanol gas.

    Gavin… stumbled upon your channel while researching generators for my RV…. very informative indeed. I have a question about powering two roof a/c units on my toy hauler… the Rv has a 30 amp service (originally) single 15k btu a/c, I had a second 13.5k btu a/c Installed in the “master bedroom” (it gets super hot/humid in central Florida) which is on its own 30 amp breaker and twist lock, which powers only the a/c nothing else. Since the Champion 4500 has a single 120v 30amp RV outlet, can both units be run simultaneously? and if so what type of “splitter” could be used?…. Thanks..

    Gavin I have found your videos a great help in my research. I think I'm down to this Wen or two Champion 2500s to run in parallel. The Wen is significantly cheaper, but I like the versatility of the two small Champions. Would you have a preference? I'll be using it for power outages at home to run a couple fridge/freezers and a small basement sump pump and also a camper with 15k btu AC and two fridges. Maybe will do one or two boondocking trips a year. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey Frank With the two 2500 you’ll have 5000 starting watts. They’re also really easy to move around and like you said when you don’t need all that power you could just run one single generator just allow you to maintain just one generator instead of two. It’s also nice to have redundancy, if one’s not working there’s always that other one Check out these two videos on paralleling kzread.info/dash/bejne/nqOYzsSYZpaaldI.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/aq6N1bqOhqSfqZc.html

  • @GeneratorReviews

    @GeneratorReviews

    3 жыл бұрын

    I haven’t heard of too many complaints on the electric choke going out and since you only use it once per start there’s just not a lot of wear and tear on the choke most times you don’t even need to use it if the generator is already warm. I have a question. Can you turn off the fuel and run the remaining gas out of the carb, so the carb on either one of these gen's does not get gummed up? You know what I mean, If you can't run the fuel out of the carb it's going to get messed up and need to be either cleaned or replaced. ( The fuel left in the carb bowl will cause the gen to NOT run or start if not used regularly, the fuel float will get stuck ) All of that automatic stuff is nice, but being able to drain the carb will keep the gen working with a lot less maintenance. Just curious.

    @@GeneratorReviews I've tested eco on vs off with surging starts and I have found it can make a difference in the output voltage when a big load first kicks on. With eco off, voltage stays around 120+ wheras with eco on it can drop a few moments before the RPM ramp up. That could have caused your 2nd AC to not be able to start the first time it tried. Eco mode is meant for low, steady loads and the system can compensate beyond eco mode RPMs as needed but because the RPMs are down, the initial power demand can cause a slight drop in voltage before the generator is able to ramp up the engine. Hope that makes sense!

    Thank you for sharing a features highlight of these 2 generators, Gavin. They both look like great options! Ha....here I have been complaining about 100lbs over the last 2 weeks and I'm still looking at the bigger options hehehehe. I feel that if I just carried a set of ramps, that I already have, that would mitigate an option such as these. I really like the starter switch being built into the knob on both of these. And, I REALLY like the remote start on the Champion. However, I have a dog, so I'd be going out into the morning cold anyways. But...it is definitely a nice feature! ponder ponder ponder! I happened to click on a Lowe's site, last night, that had the smaller Westinghouse 2500s. They were $150 off through last night; for $450. I had to go walk my dog and got back inside at about 1020pm mountain time. Little did I know that the sale ended at midnight east coast time :-( Anyways.....that allows more time to ponder and verify what specific features we need. Safe travels!
