I really prefer how the books handled magical duels. Especially Order of the Phoenix with the ministry battle. Half of the fighting was actually brawling, beating the shit out of each other once you closed the distance. This is why Neville had a bloody nose in the book etc. Would have loved to see those more brutal/physical magical battles in the movies, lol.

Yeah they could have used some different spells.. Like Levi Corpus and the likes. Not just either stupor or Avada..
i do like that little nod they put at the end of the game showing the ones before. My favorite console game is the 3rd one as i liked the mechanic of switching characters and each of them having abilities as well as being able to learn different spells and my favorite handheld would have to be either the GBC or the 3rd GBA as they are good RPG games. Now if i had to rank the console by best harry potter games it would be 6th gen console (sure the PS2 has the best version of the chamber of secrets but it has more eh games later on where as the xbox and gamecube were dropped after harry potter 4 so i put these all together) PS1 (while only two they are alright and it is the best one for memes) Wii (because it is one of the few playable versions of the 5th game) PS3/360 for handhelds it would be like this GBC (both games are very good) GBA and PSP (now why these are tied is because they have both good pros but equal cons. PSP pro: it had games that looked and played like the console games just a slight downgrade. Con: this would be discontinued later on and the PSP would get cut off after half blood prince. GBA: pro it has a lot of games and the early ones are very good. Con: they were constantly changing and they really only had one really good one being the 3rd game as it was done by the GBC guys.) DS (this one gets the bottom because until the last few games the DS versions werent that great that being said it is one of the other playable versions of the 5th game because of the giant hand and the last two games were alright but it was really held back.) Now combined it would be like this 6th gen GBC PS1 GBA and PSP Wii DS 360/PS3

This game came out at midnight the same day Deathly hallows part 2 was supposed to drop in Theatres here where I live. My sister and I went to EB Games, got it, and went right back home and played through the entire game so that we could finish it and then see the movie that same day. We wanted the ultimate DHP2 experience and we got it. I had no idea there were 3 versions! Thanks for the nostalgia trips you've sent me through by covering this whole series. It's been a blast
Great series! The perfect ending would be talking about all the other Harry Potter games like the Lego games, the other mobile games (old java ones or even the new ones) or the Play Station spin offs. There is even an xbox kinect game.

@@tradeka4206 I dunno, Prisoner of Azkaban on PC is till one of my favourites
I have very fond memories of the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone on PC. The game had some real cozy vibes, and that constant sound effect of a warm fireplace and/or big candles burning in the background was very comforting. It also felt very faithful to the spirit the book, and the visuals emulated the illustrations from each chapter well.

I think (and maybe this isn’t the case as I never played it) it feels like it took visuals from a mixture of the book and movie
Man, these DS devs are really punching above their weight. The portable versions of deathly hallows all seem better than the flagship ones
I think the Spider-Man games would do well for this series, the OG ps1 games and then the movie tie-in's had a lot of versions, and then a good mix for some of the more modern ones

Another Great video! I wish the flagship version from the 4th game onwards would follow the PC/PS2 style of Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, the art direction for these games, for me, they are immaculate, the devs they were able to create a unique atmosphere. But unfortunately, the PS3 era onwards it's where the "realistic games" trend started in most games...

Half blood prince was my favorite simply for it being the most complete Hogwarts. I’d walk around pretending going to classes. Then if I wanted to pretend being with Ron and hermione I’d swap to OOTP Also loved watching all of these you did amazing work can’t wait to see what more you have in store!!!
Hey Flandrew, I'd like to start off by saying that I really loved this series of yours! It's not often I come across interesting Harry Potter videogame videos like this, and it has never happened before that a series like this has compelled me to subscribe to your channel which is something I haven't regretted a day since. Well done! For me, my order of worst to best (all on PC as I have only ever played one other console HP game) is as follows: Goblet of Fire Deathly Hallows Part 1 Deathly Hallows Part 2 Order of the Phoenix Half-Blood Prince Prisoner of Azkaban Philosopher's Stone Chamber of Secrets I've played Goblet of Fire 2 times in my life, the first time as a sort of curiosity thing to find out what the game was about and the second time to see if I could get any joy out of it. For me it just misses the mark completely, I don't feel like it has the sort of magical feeling a Harry Potter game is supposed to have. I absolutely hated the removal of freeroam, the addition of a forced camera perspective, the removal of interesting collectables and so many more parts of that game. The Deathly Hallows games weren't that great for me either, but at least they offered the unique opportunity to explore magical locations that were not available in previous installments and I didn't care that much about all the spamming. I enjoy replaying the fifth and sixth games, while they do not have the same amazingness of the first three games, they still offer a lot for me. Order of the Phoenix still has that annoying forced perspective, but the game is very immersive with a lot of interesting background chatter to make you feel like you're at hogwarts and the ability to cast spells on bystanders. Half-Blood Prince was an improvement on that game for me, with better graphics, more freedom when looking around, more areas to explore and better minigames (I HATE GOBSTONES). Lastly, I feel like we can all agree the first three games were the best. They had that magical feeling about them, I love how every bit of the game is stacked with secret rooms, I love collecting wizard cards and it's always a treat to replay these games. Chamber of Secrets has got to be the highlight for me, with Philosopher's Stone feeling like a stepping stone to this game (which is still a great game, but not as great as its successor). Prisoner of Azkaban feels like a step down as it draws away from the exploration, with a huge amount of cards no longer being hidden but having to be bought, a lot less secrets but still a lot of enjoyable environments to cast magic in. I could write an even more detailed essay on my thoughts and feelings regarding these games but I think that what I've written so far already far exceeds what fits within a youtube comment.
This was one of the best series of videos I’ve ever watched. Amazing work! I would love to see this series for the Tony Hawk games and the James Bond games. Looking forward to all your future videos, and thank you this wonderful series!
Favourite: Chamber of Secrets PC game - Everything about that game is top notch, (at least for the time). The graphics were too good to be true for teenage me, the spells, duels, the music (I still sometimes listen to HP2 soundtrack), the grinding on the duelling club for beans, the grinding on Spell Challenges to score maximum points for a longer bonus bean room visits, the bonus bean room (although the BB Room in PoA was better), Quidditch was a bit underwhelming still it wasn't bad at all, plus I recently found out about all the hidden stuff like challenges and modes in the game, so have been replaying it lately. Least Favourite: Goblet of Fire PC - They took everything that made the first 3 HP games good and chucked it right out the window. The biggest pain in the arse was having to do and re-do the same mission over and over for those stupid shields. And the AI for Ron and Hermoine were dodgy at best. It is still one of the only games that I haven't finished till today.

My god the music, Jeremy Soule just produced some of his best work in the first three HP games. Harry as Goyle from CoS in particular is an absolute favorite of mine. That theremin-like sound is perfect for the out-of-body experience Harry is going through.

Thank you for this series! It’s been a blast!
New flandrew video means it’s a good day. As amazing as Chamber of Secrets was on the original Xbox, sorcerers stone on PC is still the GOAT. That game had genuinely great level design and really engaging mechanics. But fuck putting fluffy to sleep, that had me stuck for about a week when I was a kid.
I love this video format, man! I hope you don't stop here. Yes, video game tie-ins usually aren't great, but I'd love to see you take on other series like this!
Thank you for doing this series, I really enjoyed all the videos even though I didn’t play any of the games as a kid!
Can't wait to see what series you'll cover next! These videos have been a delight to watch. I really enjoyed the Chamber of Secrets game on the PS2 myself as a kid, especially since on the PS2 you could freely fly around the map unlike the other versions.
Thank you so much for doing these videos! It was wonderful to watch the comparison for all the games of HP
I just wanna say how much I appreciate these videos. They were informative and entertaining. Which is nice since most KZread videos are one or the other. I found these bc I ordered every playstation and nintendo version of these. Wonderful to find out that they are all completely different games, instead of having 5-6 copies of the same game in a different shape
I get so excited to see your game comparison vids. It's a subject that rarely gets tackled.
i stumbled around this series today and already watched half of it. Very nice videos. I remember growing up with the half blood prince game and the struggle with brewing just as you told in your video, i really enjoyed it tho since i was very young and played on my dads computer. It was one of my first games ever, thx for bringing back that memory.
I love Harry yelling "Filpendo!" in the first game and the turn based RPG from the first GBC game was amazing, so those are probably my favourite ones
Thanks! Nice series. Because of it, I started to collect every handheld Harry Potter game :)
Fantastic retrospective and reviews you have done! Thanks for the entertainment.
It's been great watching your channel grow with these series, man! Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing you do more!
What a nice series, I discovered your channel with the first one and now I love every video you upload. I'm happy to be here, can't wait for your next videos.
The PS2 version of Chamber of Secrets was probably my favorite. Its a fun little OOT inspired game with really clever puzzles and dungeons to go through. It's not perfect but it's still really fun and well designed. The graphics have aged incredibly well too. It feels less like the movies and more like the books brought to life.
Great video as always Flandrew. :) I’ve enjoyed watching this whole series.
Chamber of secrets for PC is my favorite. Replayed it this year and while it is simple, there's no denying the charm it has. Between dueling, Quidditch, making potions, the trading mechanics, and the level of exploration/collectibles, they all add so much and make the game feel so vibrant. If they were all fleshed out a bit more in future games, these mechanics could have made for some great games. I think if the series had stuck to the exploration and spell lesson formula of the first three PC games, it would have been a lot more fun.
I'm really enjoying this channel, your subtle sarcasm really does a lot for your commentary
Glad I get to finish this series! What a wonderful content creator!
I've loved watching this series, I look forward to what else is to come!

My favorite Harry Potter game will always be the PC version of Chamber of Secrets. I remember first getting it as a Christmas present as a kid and me and my family would play it all the time. I especially loved the bean bonus room it made me feel so happy every time I was around all those beans!
Congrats, Flandrew. It's been a fun trip to see you review Harry Potter games. It certainlly bring back memeries of the younger times.

Really looking forward to the Poll, I have my predictions which I feel may be quite accurate, although these Polls can often give surprises and insights into the topic! Loved this series! I could listen to Flandrew review pretty much anything - I never played most of these games and I probably never will but it's more enjoyable to watch these videos than the actual games are.
Great job on this series, I loved watching through it and it's what led me to your channel. Can't wait to see the poll results and your future videos. Also favorite tie in Harry Potter game is chamber of secrets for pc. But really we all know quidditch world cup is the best.
Absolutely loved all these retrospectives for these games, was amazing finding out all the different versions of each game, thanks so much! My favourite Harry Potter game has got to be the Prisoner of Azkaban (PS2/GCN/Xbox), though I played it on PS2, it was the one I played the most and had the most fun on. It gives me so much nostalgia and I love going back to it every now and then, though I also like the Chamber of Secrets and the Order of the Phoenix on PS2 as well. The worst one, in my opinion, is the Goblet of Fire, which was actually the first Harry Potter game I played, completed and threw out because it was just too tedious and boring. I try to imagine what the game would be like if it was kinda like a mix of COS and OOTP, I really think that's the direction the game should have went in, rather than a huge collect-a-thon.
You've done it! Well done!
Hey I really enjoyed this series and I hope you cover more games released on different platforms, it's a really cool concept! My favourite Harry Potter game growing up was the Prisoner of Azkaban for the PS2, partly because it was based on the movie which I would watch over and over again as a child and partly because of the mechanic of switching between 3 main characters- seriously POA walked so GTA V could run. Also have a soft spot for Chamber of Secrets PS2, there was something so magical about it when I was little. I remember being at primary school just waiting til I could go home and run around diagon alley lol
Hate the series is over, your content rocks bro!
TY for this series :) I only played the First Movie (PC) and Third Movie (PS), so it was rly nice to sea all the other games!

The Lego Harry Potter games are so good, I had such a blast playing them when I was young.
oh what a ride it was! thank you very much for these videos, drove me back to simpler days. my personal favorite was Order of the phoenix on the PS2 (followed by Prisoner of azkaban), i played every HP game (with exception of Deathly hallows pt1 and 2) but OotP is the one where i had the nicest experience, and felt like i was really in hogwarts. i have a strong and sweet memory of it.
Chamber Of Secrets on Pc was just my favorite and its just mostly that childlike times of loading it up on my old pc and walking around the castle it was my first pc game and it just had me in such a sense of wonder.
As someone who's played most of these, I guess I would say that the curve for the games people seem to like to most start fairly high for HP1, go slightly up for HP2, about the same but perhaps less for HP3, then waaaay less for HP4, up again for HP5 and 6, then once again down on HP7. Now imagine a curve graph. Idk where I'm going with this.
That pensieve moment is a really cool touch. With all the multiverse shenanigans the Marvel movies have been up to lately, it would be really neat to see one of the upcoming Marvel videogames do something similar and have you replay classic bits of old Marvel games as part of a side sequence, or at least show gameplay footage from them as a part of some cutscene.
If tie-in games were still here, we would get to play Fantastic Beasts, Fast and Furious, 007 games, and so on. What a great memory...
Hy Flandrew, greetings from Austria and thank you very much for this awesome series!!!! i enjoyed every minute. My favourite HP game is with no doubt the flagship of Philosopher´s Stone. I also liked Halfblood Prince, though the walking was annoying but interesting at the same time.
I still play Philosopher Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban on PS2. I play them at least once a year and they never disappoint me. They’re exactly as I remember and I enjoy every single time I play them. However, if I have to choose one, I’d go for the Chamber of Secrets. It was my first videogame ever and I have a lot of good memories playing it again and again. I enjoy the games from 4 to 7 too, but sadly they were very very different to the first three. Thank you Flandrew for making this videos. I enjoy them a lot! Good job!
I really appreciate all the work you've made in these videos. But before doing a ultimate ranking. It would be cool if you included Harry Potter Kinect and The Wonderbook games of Spells and Potions. Then we can do a definitive Harry Potter ranking vote. :)
Thank you so much for summarizing my childhood basically! Although I've never played DHp2, the first three PC parts, 5 and 6 are the games I hold so dear in my heart. How about a bonus LEGO HP video?

new video, classic Flandrew W
I would love to see this for older tomb raider games! especially Underworld or Legends! Great Work!
I've been waiting for part II😃😃
My vote would go to Sorcerer's Stone on GBC. It kept the whole plot of the book/movie while also branching out and imagining much of Hogwarts in its own unique way. Great music and no major gameplay problems either. It's still fun to play
All of the harry potter games give me so much nostalgia. I'm just glad I was a kid when I played them and didn't really understand how to identify a "bad game". Even though now realistically alot of them are bad I can still go back and play them and really enjoy them (Apart from Goblet Of Fire. That game can just go magic itself away from existence)
I've never played any of the Harry Potter games, but I really enjoyed this whole series and looking forward to the rankings.
I haven't played Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 since they released, but I remember really liking them at the time, tbh. They were massively different from the past games, but they were definitely more action and I just liked something about it. Got really fond memories of getting Part 1 for Christmas and playing it over and over
Thanks for splitting between the two system types.
1 minute in, my body is ready for this.
I have so many memories playing the first three HP games. Sorcerer's Stone I played primarily on PC, then Chamber of Secrets I played the PC, GCN, and GBC versions. Prisoner of Azkaban I played on PC and GCN. I remember being so excited for Goblet of Fire to come out and being incredibly disappointed when I played it since it was nothing like the other games. I'm pretty sure I still continued to play the games up until DH Part 1 which I was let down by, and I don't think I even got around to playing Part 2. I'd say overall I have the most memories with Chamber of Secrets, specifically the GCN and GBC versions, so those are my personal favorite.
Chamber of Secrets for the PS2 is my favorite HP game. It also was the first videogame I've ever played when I was around 6. I remember playing untill reaching the mist dogs and getting stuck there FOR YEARS untill one day I said, "wait, what if I charge the lumos spell?" and after that I finally got to play the game after years of attempts, and I loved that game to the very end
I'd love to see you compare the different versions of some of the earlier Resident Evil games. I think that would be super interesting
The super-hero tie-in games also had a lots of differences, it would be a nice theme too
Not a fan of JKs recent comments on stuff, but It's also sad to see how the games went from imaginative to literally an FPS

As a transgender HP fan it's been pretty heartbreaking to see JK spearhead a hate campaign against my and my kin's existence. Ah well, her loss, just means any further exploration of the wizarding world, I'll be sailing into from the seven seas.
Really enjoyed this series, grew up with most of these games and stopped after Order of the Phoenix. If I had to guess the best one will probably be Chamber of Secrets for the PS2/GC I did enjoy the PS1 version for including more segments from the books. Plus the PS1 version of Sorcerer’s Stone (I’m American) did the same thing, like adding the troll and potions in the third floor corridor, it always gave me anxiety slowly lifting the furniture quietly out of the trolls way. I think the PC version added the potions as well but not the troll. Hoping you touch upon the Lego Harry Potter games and the Quidditch World Cup
I would love to see you check out every version of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
