If I remember my SW lore, that's actually a fuel tank and not a sewer. All that nasty looking stuff is basically starship gasoline. Probably not a good place for lightsabers.

You are correct. If you read the description for this level’s concept art in the bonus features, it says: “More from the cut sequence that remained in the game. Here Anakin and Obi-Wan navigate the cruiser’s generator room, which is filling with volatile fuel, pouring from the cracks in the damaged walls.”

If I recall correctly, Anakin's VA in this game was the same one used in the 2003 Clone Wars Miniseries by Gennedy Tartakovsky. In fact, James Arnold Taylor voiced Obi-Wan in that series, too. Aside from Anakin, Grievous, Palpatine, Ventress, the Clones and a handful of other minor characters, most of the current VA's came from the 2003 series.

Additional curiosity about the Count Dooku name in Portuguese: due to the “from the a**” meaning, they actually CHANGED the character name in Brazil, where he is always mentioned in Portuguese dub as “Dookan” instead of “Dooku”

Had both the main game and the GBA game and they're two of my favourites from back in the day. I'll never forget letting one of my roommates who only rented the game back in the day take on Dooku cause he was stuck on him. I was obsessed with the main game when I was very young. There's also a mode where you play as Yoda fighting off hordes of enemies.
6:14 This is actually because in the original screenplay play Anakin was supposed to duel Mace Windu but George changed it last minute.

The reason some parts are different, such as Dooku not getting beheaded, is because the game came out several weeks or months before the film and I think they wanted to minimize spoilers

That DS starfighter minigame was the first time I really understood the difference between 30 and 60 fps. Find a 60fps video on KZread if you haven't seen it, it runs so smoothly.
Loved the PS2 version. Surprised you didn’t mention that there were a series of one off levels that let you play as various other characters in the game. Or just the level of level destruction available. I mean if I remember correctly, the Temple arena had little grenades you could hurl with the Force.

Brazilian here: Dooku means "from the ass" in portuguese (or even "I do anal" if you stretch it a little bit). So they changed it to Dookan here. (Master) Sifo-Dias means "kept f*cking himself". So they changed it to Zaifo-Vias here. Panaka (Naboo Captain from Ep. I) means something like "Dork". They kept it because "lol" I guess.

The Plug and Play version actually had an expansion pack as well that came on a cartridge. It added a platforming game where you play as Yoda, it was actually a bit better than the others that came on the Plug and Play.
I discovered that GBA version thanks to modern emulator consoles and man oh man, I love it. It's shocking how well Star Wars was adapted into a belt-scrolling beat 'em up there, and I'm glad you mentioned the graphics because I totally agree. I think the art style is fantastic - just the right amount of cartoony stylization and sporting this rich, perfect color palette while still having everything be 100% identifiable from the source material. It's such a good look! I cannot believe it was from UbiSoft, a dev I never associate with 2D visuals. Though I looked up a LongPlay just now and saw that a "Jonathan Lavigne" was credited as the Artistic Director, and MobyGames says he went on to do Art and Design for games like Scott Pilgrim VS The World: The Game, Mercenary Kings, Panzer Paladin and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. Actually diving into the credits on Mobygames is pretty fascinating; you can link some of the devs to titles like Rayman 3 GBA, Kim Possible Global Gemini, Scott Pilgrim VS The World: The Game, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, Panzer Paladin and River City Girls... as well as, obviously, a ton of Far Cry and Assassins Creed games because if you stayed at Ubi Soft, _that's all you do now._ Loved this vid. This was a nice multiplat title to have a look at. This script was really funny, I laughed so hard I'm thirsty now... where did I put my Cherry Bacta™? 😆 (Hope you opt to take a look at Avatar games with that stupid sequel coming out soon apparently. I know Ubi Soft farted out a gazillion games for that thing...)
This was my favourite childhood Star Wars game

This brings back memories. I remember playing the ps2 version and killing all the Jedi as Anakin. But maaan, seeing that controller brought such a hard nostalgia feeling. I just love that it’s a controller that you plug straight into the tv with no need of a console. I remember playing it a ton but I can’t really remember any of the levels. Wonder if it held up at all
Played the GBA game an uncountable number of times as a kid and then the dad version as a teen when I realised it had extra content. Absolute masterpiece
I have the DS game. The 3D starfighter missions are really good for that time. There was a skirmish mode with a number of ships from both trilogies to select from and a few different maps, my favourite being the Venator wreckage.
The GBA game was fantastic. I replayed that game so much as a kid, and still remember some of the levels and boss fights.
Republic Commando and Battlefront 2 came out around the time of Episode 3
I cant believe you actually mentioned the plug'n'play game. I remember having it and playing it but not as much as the console version for obvious reasons.
You did it. Thank you for uploading the game buddy

I recently started watching the Terminator movies, and I think they made quite a few different games based on the Terminator movies. I'd like to see you do videos comparing every version of The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (with T2: The Arcade Game added in for good measure), the Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines tie-in games, and even Robocop vs. the Terminator.

I second that. The Terminator had an interesting menagerie of games based on it.
Unlocked a core memory with that Plug and Play
My childhood version was the DS one, just an amazing beat 'em up with little to no flaws. Though now that I watched your video I'm sad it removed the cooperative levels and replaced them with the spaceship battles.
Wow you just unlocked my memories with the plug and play console. I remember really enjoying it as a kid. The graphics were pretty nice for a plug and play console.
I have the DS version and I played it so much as a kid. Its debateable wether a Beat 'em Up is the perfect choice for the game but I think it played ok and was actually challenging at times. I loved the presentation tho. The Story was roughly there and again they animated many sprites. The flying levels were funny as well.
I played a ton of the DS version, and put a lot of time into the extra starship mode which let you also play games against bots (not just other people). I remember it being one of the most impressive experiences on the DS, for me, and it gave me hope that the entire mode was some sort of technical proof of concept for a handheld spin off to Rogue Squadron that they were working on. Oh well.
PS2 game is so great And its attack system is something gorgeous. Directions defy strikes and combos (like just swinging or do leg strike)
Battlefront II was technically a ROTS game, in a way it answers questions and expands the story
The GBA version is where I spent all that time. Having only handheld and pc I had no other option anyway. But this game is still somwhere with my stuff, containing the save on master difficulty. So Master difficulty is like new game+ so I could build Anakin differently with force drain and choke instead of rage. And I must say that those stages in the library where you fight jedis is like really good, and kind of...relaxing? Obi wan on the other hand has like this shield and mind trick that are deadly combo. You can basically beat the stage being invincible. That game was like super solid everall and reminded me much of SNES platformers, even with the style
My brother and I played this religiously on the ps2. The versus mode was arguably the best we'd ever played.
A few too many jokes for my tastes, but otherwise a very nostalgic video!
Wish they would have expanded on serra keto's backstory a bit more. I love seeing small side characters turn into fully fleshed out main characters that we can learn to love. Kinda like what happened with attack of the clones how you had all those jedi in the arena, just a bunch of randos and then the clone wars came around and turned them into legitimate characters. Unfortunate sera was left out, though it kinda makes sense since the rots game isn't fully canon so she is technically a legends character. But still.....

I'm so glad you guys remember us Brazilians for our so polite and beautiful expressions! 😁
I've never really been a fan of star wars, but I got revenge of the Sith on DS for Christmas a long time ago. I absolutely loved that game. My brother had a copy too, and we used to battle each other in the car while our foster mom went to Costco for groceries haha. Great times.
Ahhh Revenge of the sith. I remember two things about this game. One is how adorable Hayden Christensen is during the making of the game. The man is so happy to be in a video game it's heartwarming. Two being a kid and playing this game while getting angry like "Dude..I AM STILL ON GRIEVOUS SHIP?! HOW?! WHY?!"
I remember playing the fuck out of the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Return of the King tie-in games on Gamecube/PS2. Simple beat-em-up action, with a shallow but still satisfying levelling system. Kept me and my cousins entertained for many hours. So when I found the Revenge of the Sith tie-in had similar gameplay, I was sold instantly. The multiplayer duels were a fun addition as well (Grievous' pistol is fucking broken!). I especially loved that we got to play Anakin's slaughter through the Jedi Temple; particularly his duel against Cin Drallig and his apprentice Serra Keto.
this is my childhood. i remember we got the ps2 version during summer break in france before finding out it doesn't have a language selection screen but just is all in french. i learned a new language because of this game.
I didn't have a console for the majority of my childhood so that plug n play vader thing was my jam, I used to play those games so much
I remember playing this game (the PS2 version) the day after my parents took me to go see Revenge of the Sith when I was 12 I didn't play the GBA one until around 2010 emulated which now it's one of the games I have on my phone through a GBA app As for the plug n play one I totally forgot that existed. I remember buying one of those at blockbuster back in summer 2006. I don't know what happened to mine.
I wanted the PS2 version when I was younger but got the DS version instead. I recently played the PS2 version and man, am I happy to have had the DS version. So much more fun, and the dog fighting multiplayer was awesome
I'd never even seen the console version until it popped up on this channel, I've only ever played the GBA version, and frankly, it may well be one of my favourite Star Wars games, it's just, a fairly polished classic beat 'em up, and I quite like those!

I don’t know if anyone would remember it, but on old flip phones there was also a strange version of ROTS?? You play as Anakin and kill battle droids until you find Count Dooku and then it’s over. It was weird but I’ve never found anything referencing it except this video, but this was for Nokia.
This is the game that taught me what R3 was, because I saw that force healing was mapped to that button, but I only saw R1 and R2, but not R3, so I could only heal with pick ups.
This gba game was the reason i got into star wars
I remember playing and really enjoying the Plug in TV game. I really enjoyed that "RTS" Like level.
The main game is backwards compatible on Xbox so if you have an Xbox One X or an Xbox Series X you can play this masterpiece in 4k.
The pixel art at 12:37 is amazing.
There's quite a few instances in the flagship version (at least on PS2) which let you farm points "infinitely" but will also crash the game eventually. One of these is on the very first level, although it's a very slow method in the first mission as it's done with the sniper at the end area if I remember correctly
both PS2 and GBA versions were my favorite games back in the day, though sadly, I lost the GBA game in 2008 in the mall and I still get broken up about it. It's an irreplaceable loss and it hurts to know it.
Remembers the Japanese translated duel between Obi Wan and Anakin Laughs This movie's existence is good for my mental health
The PS2 one was my childhood. I remember ALWAYS going on the verses mode with my mom and dad. Those were the days
03:00 yeah Here in Brazil his name was even localized as Dookan
This is the first one where I played almost all of the games (didn't play the mobile game). I played that plug in play game so much on car trips lol
Having a lightsaber ignited in the tank of the Invisible Hand is a bad idea.
*Creeps up from the obscure games dungeon* Ah, but Flandrew, what if I told you the plug-n-play actually had PHYSICAL DLC? There's an expansion pack with two additional games, one being a full 2D Yoda platformer?! Like the gunship minigame, the Yoda one really stretches the limited assets, but it's kind of incredible how hard they tried to push things. Plus there's the hilarious gag that due to most modes being infinite, the mode where you try to save the Chancellor constantly sees him being yoinked down a shaft whenever you find him!
Serra getting crushed by the pillar is hilarious missed opportunity to put that in the video
Fun fact both voice actors from this Video Game also voiced the same characters in the original Star Wars Clone Wars. Matt Lucas is just as iconic as Matt Lanter was in voicing Anakin in my personal opinion.
Aaaaaah somebody finally referenced our language. Count From The Ass is really happy with that one and so am I.
WHERE'S THE LEVEL WHERE YOU PLAY AS ANAKIN KILLING THOSE YOUNGLINGS!?! BTW, This Review is Great, Keep up the Good Work, Flandrew!
Man i was addicted to the PS2 Revenge of the Sith game. What s game, I loved the movie so to he able to play the game and its fighting game mode. Dang those are some good memories. Especially with the cheat codes!
I spent so many hours as a kid playing the console version. The vs mode was probably my favourite part.
I actually really love the xbox version. My favorite of the prequel games though was the phantom menace on PS1.
First Lego Star Wars and Battlefront 2 were also released in same year as Revenge of the Sith and featured levels, characters and vehicles based on movie.
The joke about Dooku's name in portuguese is so accurate, that they even changed his name to Dookan here in Brazil
Loved this game dualing with friends after school😍😍
Day one of asking Flandrew to check out Quidditch world cup
2:57 yeah, here in Brazil Lucasfilm had to change his name to Dookan because they were afraid people would make jokes
The gunship game on the TV game was really fun
If I'm not mistaken, "Droid invasion" is like "Space invaders" & "Grevious' onslaught" is "Berzerk" without the Electric walls...
Could you possibly do the King Kong movie tie in games one day? Big fan of your content and I remembered that the King Kong xbox game was different from the gba one. Figured it would be right up your alley mate.
The Sewer System commentary would have been warranted... If it were a Sewer System... I believe they even say in the deleted scene that it was the Water Coolant System...
I like how everyone know this game but when i talked to friends they never heard about it
I want all the PT and OT released as games like the ROTS console game. It would be a dream come true
2:27 But Raven tried so hard with Outcast and Academy. 😢 8:49 So that's why Kyle sighs so deeply when using Bacta Canisters. 9:58 Ah the classic "why serve when I can take the power for myself". The theoretical Emperor Katarn and Emperor Korr would be pleased.
Heck yeah! More Star Wars games! 😊
2:53 it’s not a sewage system it’s actually a fuel system Or close to it actually and it appears to be leaking probably from the battle I know it’s a fuel system cuz in that deleted scene where they come in contact with grievous early grievous says to his droids “don’t fire, the fuel tanks are rupturing”
