Well done Dr Joseph Lumbard, God bless you. I think the world; non-Muslims and Muslims is in need to such an impartial academic exposition of the fundamentals of Islam. Well done by concentrating on The Quran; because Muslims are divided for political reasons, but Quran is One, and it is the Words of the All-Mighty the Creator. I am pleased to hear your nice description and commentary on the first sura of the Quran; surat al-Fatiha. Keep going with the mercy of the All-Merciful.

Thank you Dr Joseph Lumbard..I purchased a copy of the Study Quran after listening to your videos so that I can co-relate your videos and study the Quran at the same time. BTW the concept of Al Raheem seems sort of similar to the Vedanta concept of Prakirti which brings about its role in Creation. I do understand Islam doesnt stress the role of the Feminine Principle in creation but the Vedantic word for its role for creation is often called Hiranyagarbha which means the Golden Womb which again the root word for Womb(Uterus) in Arabic also stems from ر ح م which its shares with the word Raheem And as you had narrated the Ar Raheem is the blessings/nourishment tru which God sustains everything, the sounds very much like an uterine function when God relates to creation. I really enjoy your videos and narration and wondering if there are links to sign up for a full course on Quran?

it would be great to put in written form to the screen the chapters (english translation of suras and numbers of verses ayats) and subtitles to be seen on screen so as well listening dr Lumbardh( alb.white river) we can read....so no word goes...away...now not only to ear goes the message but put to an eye as well...thanks.

Good day, Professor. Thank you for such an insightful podcast. Eagerly waiting for the rest of the series. I was wondering if you could do podcast on the ‘feminist’ reading of Quran. Over the years, many Quranic words have been changed/misinterpreted by the Ummah to suit a more patriarchal structure of society. What is your opinion on the matter? Would love to hear your insight.
