@@Closminding You're dumb to be comparing external appearances, when that's the least important thing when it comes to describing a buddha. 'Buddha' literally translates to 'enlightened one' and has nothing to do with one specific person despite most people thinking Gautama Buddha was THE buddha. There are thousands of anonymous Buddha's alive at any given point in time and has always been the case.

The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. Love love

yes, feeling, as Tolle says, the inner vastness, almost infinite spaciousness within, if the mind can't be satisfied with feeling this, then what will ever satisfy it? like some people who win awards, or have money, power, prestige & titles, if they don't venture within, & feel the breath of life, all the show of success would, i imagine, be like so many empty candy wrappers strewn about...

So beautiful how he describes the “aliveness of the forest”. Just recently I went for a walk in the woods and just looked. I just stood and looked and allowed myself to feel and take in the forest as it presented itself. I started crying. It felt so merciful. I felt like I was allowed to just be whatever I am by allowing “it”, the forest, the world, whatever, to just be whatever “it” is.

The only thing that wants to master the mind is the mind. Just leave the mind & emotions be. They will not submit to your will anyway. True freedom lies in allowing yourself to be just the way you are, because you can't change yourself just as you can't lift yourself up by your own bootstraps. You are already a perfect and beautiful being!

@Mindset & Self-Mastery It’s difficult in a short comment simply read, to infer your perception of what Eckhart is saying. But I keyed in on “mastering”, and since that word is also in your channel name, I’m curious what you think about it. Please stay tuned, keep learning from Eckhart, and other non-dual teachers. Use discernment regarding the teacher. I tried to “master” the mind but it is like hugging one’s own reflection. Instead of adding, subtract. There is so much that we gather and absorb every day, week, year of our lives, and 90% of it is not needed, and confuses us. Subtract.

You have to stop the habit of being sensitive to the feeling of 'anxiety' itself. Before, when even the smallest levels of anxiety emerged, you may have instantly started to worry and overthink. That was your defense mechanism against anxiety. However, that is the wrong way to react. Even when anxiety emerges, people who are not so sensitive are not really affected. They don’t fear more than they need to. Naturally, they don’t ‘defend’ themselves by overthinking. In other words, they are not susceptible to the vicious loop of overthinking. So when you feel insecure, you can become stronger if you can release the compulsion of getting rid of your anxiety. Re-define what it means to be mentally strong. You are strong not ‘because’ of something, but you are strong ‘despite’ of something.

In this particular case it feels like a blessing because anything Eckhart says is very soothing and puts me into a mindset although my views may be unusual here in the small New England town I live in, across the planet there are quite a few of us in the community and I don't feel as isolated.

this has nothing to do with the video BUT PLEASE READ!! about a month and a half ago i started bad anxiety, it was so bad i could barely eat and i couldn’t even walk without thinking i was gonna faint, i have fixed that problem, my anxiety has reduced and i’m not always anxious. yet something that scares me is how for a while i had trouble finding happiness, i didn’t feel joy. maybe bcuz i was too focused on the negative it was crushing me and i couldn’t see the positive. i had a lot of things stressing me. i had physical symptoms of anxiety, trouble breathing, light headed and sometimes felt disconnected like i died and i was in a dream or a play. i feel way better now, i do :) but still wonder what happened and i hope it doesn’t happen again bcuz it had killed a part of me. i know it might’ve thought me something or might teach me something, but not sure yet. was that the dark night of the soul? was that an awakening? will i go through it again? sometimes i felt like time is so slow and i’d be bored. i think it might be because so focused on the negative and thinking when am i gonna be okay again so it feels slow. u know how when it’s christmas and everyone is eating and ur waiting to open the gifts and even if ur doing something u can’t wait for everyone to finish eating so u open up ur gifts? it’s like i’m waiting for my mind to stop eating so i can finally open up my gifts. (keep in mind all this in within a month and a half) i wonder what it is, the reason of me going through this. i’m getting better but please help. also i was a person that wasn’t afraid of death, now i am a little because i’m not sure what happens after we die, maybe bcuz i’m scared to feel the way i’m feeling right now. so if you know please bring me clarity and explain to me id really appreciate. also i’m 14 so i’m still young and new to this sort of.

KayinPepper Just relax. Like you said you are 14. Be grateful for your insights at such an early age. At your rate you will be very wise when you are older. Your thinking is creating a lot of questions and suffering. Remember that you cannot comprehend the meaning of life with your mind. Only your awareness can feel it. Also be aware of your tendency to require help and define yourself as somebody who needs help. That is likely the ego trying to create a false identify that creates suffering for itself. Feel you are an eternal being and be open to not knowing. Not knowing who you are is incredibly peaceful. I began thus journey at 14 as well-I am 17 now. I recommend writing down your current state of consciousness whenever you feel like it inside of your notes app or on paper. You can keep track of your progression and potentially natural regressions in consciousness which will immediately help you return to the original state of bliss. Have fun!

Tolle has said God is pure Formlessness, pure Be-ing. Being precedes & trumps perceiving & doing. We, too, emerged from formlessness, from the void. And to it we shall return, awaken. We ARE that awareness of the silence (that one can perceive when one quiets one's mind, as in meditation). But how can Awareness as a presence become self-aware without separating from itself? If no-thingness (nothingness) can be perceived, then it follows that there is some-thing (else) engaged in perceiving it, thus negating the premise of no-thingness itself. Unless that which is not & consists of nothing has an in-built capacity to perceive itself. Perhaps that is what our purpose on this earth is: we are sentient creatures endowed with a will. So we are equipped to enable unmanifested Awareness to manifest, that it may experience & perceive Itself. Why, as I have often heard, does the universe abhor a void? It must fill it. But is it not one with the void it is driven to overcome? Tolle has said that you ARE the manifestation of the universe, of the consciousness underlying it AND at the same time you ARE the universe experiencing itself (via your evolving relationship with your own Truth). This coincides with the idea that this life is a dream & we are but the imagination of ourselves.

I would like to hear Eckhart on the topic of secondary school teachers and presence. Although I know that he did not appreciate the School very much :), it is a challenge for us teachers. And in the midst of so many different personalities it is difficult to stay present. I wish he could talk about School and the teaching class one day. Anyway, I thank him for everything I could learn from his teachings.

Soooo great to hear him , echo other people saying how hard it is to be ok with not knowing. Our past conditioning sets our pathways to live through the mind and concepts and labels. This work is to clear all that and get back to who we truly are , pure clean and free . Back to infantile state almost. ( when we know we don't know , that's when we really know but that know is not from the mind state. It's from a felt pure being state, words and mind can't comprehend it . Bless eckhart
