Yeah, that's the sad part about it. They all just did what they were told and got killed because of it. However, you have to remember that hindsight is 20/20 and in that moment, they were in shock/disbelief and just followed Patti Nielson's instructions.

For anyone wondering that 3rd dot under the computer desks is Amanda Stair-Duran. She's done a video series talking about that day in pretty good detail. She never mentioned that they saw her, but I wonder if they did because they shot at the two before her. She was Joe Stair's sister and they were friends with him, so perhaps they did see her and recognized her and decided to leave her alone. I've always wondered about that.

The people who created this video plan.. have forgotten to locate students hide under the tables in the cafeteria.. and in the kitchen. As well as classrooms ! close from the inside. The video plan is well detailed. But there are also other important points. Sad April 20th I was 5 years old . 😥🙏

I wonder why they stopped killing people in the library. Was the gore getting to them, so they had enough? Were they just in a complete adrenaline fueled haze, with smoke and fire alarm blaring, that they failed to find the rest of the would be victims? I just find it odd. They taunted a jock on their way out but spared him. And they had lots of time and opportunity to kill people elsewhere as they were walking around, looking into rooms. A high kill count must have been a priority, atleast for Eric. It's like they just got tuckered out and said fuck it.

It was likely the adrenaline rush wearing off (killing people was no longer fun), plus to feel a sense of "God" by sparing people. Personally, I think that they wanted to destroy as much of the school as possible after the library (as opposed to shooting at people), and they walked around just shooting and throwing bombs, and they went back to the cafeteria to attempt to blow up the propane bombs. When that failed, and they returned to the cafeteria, I think that's when they were just completely demoralized and decided to return to the library to kill themselves. But, that's just speculation on my part.

They most likely thought their kill count was higher. Keep in mind how many students lay injured and others who played dead. The thrill wore off for them. They even talked about this and mentioned stabbing people instead, but they never used their knives.

One thing I noticed missing is which class room Dave Sanders was dragged into where he died of blood loss .... but really good insight into the event

At around :44. One of the shooters (I believe Dylan) enters the cafeteria where hundreds of students are eating lunch. I always wondered since i first read that why they didn't go straight in that way and start firing in the cafeteria. I'm glad they didn't, but only they would ever truly know, i suppose.

i don't understand something that cafeteria in 11 44 i think that i see people .how could this people didn't die from the explosions....or eric and dylan didn't see them ???

Eric and Dylan did see them but were primarily focused on setting the bombs off. They also felt that shooting people lost its initial thrill. As for why the people in the cafeteria didn't die, It's because both explosions weren't in their area. All of the people that stayed in the cafeteria were far away from table PP. If they were closer to it, they would've been badly burned, or even asphyxiated by the propane. During the first explosion, almost all of the rest of the people ran out. There was only one person I know of who stayed in the cafeteria after the first explosion, but they crawled out after the second explosion. Also, I'm sorry that this is pretty long, and English isn't your first language.

@@SarinGasAttack columbine wasn't a successful school shooting it was a failed bombing, the cafeteria was supposed to blow up with all the kids and teachers in the room. that's what some dude said on an interview.

Dave Sanders wasn't shot right away at the top of the stairs at 11:24am. That's when the students followed him up when the cafeteria evacuated and when Eric and Neil had an exchange of bullets. Dave spent two minutes after that moment on camera clearing the hallways. Then at 11:26am, he was running up that library hallway and would be shot.

Not exactly cowardly in this instance. Before this shooting, police departments did not have active shooter protocols that involved entering the building. They had to wait until SWAT arrived to enter, and if they did not need to do that, most of the victims would probably be alive. Uvalde on the other hand...

One of the questions I have is, in many reports they say that some of the victims bodies were “booby trapped” with explosives/pipe bombs. And bombs were placed around the school, in lockers, etc. When in this chain of events did the killers actually do that?

Which reports? They didn't truly "booby-trap" anything, but there were both exploded and unexploded bombs throughout the school.

The position of the killers bodies in the crime scene photos do not reflect the position they were found in. SWAT and Bomb Squad officers had to move them to ensure they were not rigged with explosives. This is how Eric’s sawed-off shotgun ends up under his right leg in the photo and weapons are not seen in or near their hands.

I watched a video and there was this girl who had a twin sister who looked identical to her, She was with her friend outside and I can’t remember who Eric or Dylan shot her friend (didn’t die)but not her as she had always been nice to whoever it was that shot her friend. Then when they went to the library the other twin was under a table and they didn’t know if it was her or the sister so they spared her. It was the twin sister.

This animation depicts what the narrative is. I suggest reading through the Columbine 11k Reports for an accurate reflection on what transpired that day. Many statements the students/witnesses gave conflict with the official narrative. For instance, many of them stated "redacted," not Eric or Dylan shot at them.

The witness statements are an absolute mess, and I would not primarily base your viewpoint on them. I can give countless examples of instances where this happens.

This event further separated gen x from millenials. I am gen x and was in college and very glad i wasnt in regular school anymore, but my sisters were 😢 everything changed for them.

I hate to sound disrespectful/ignorant, but how did Kelly die from a shot to her back? Like what organs were struck? I've only ever seen her cause of death as being "gunshot to back."

She died from a shotgun shot to the left lower back at a near-horizontal, slightly-downward angle. In the autopsy report, it says that the buckshot traveled from the lower back to the chest cavity and pierced the heart, lungs, and the thoratic aorta, which is a lethal wound.

The first time, they wanted the bombs to go off. When one of them caught on fire, they left. When they returned, they probably wanted to know why the bomb didn't go off. When they saw that the sprinkler system had put it out (and filled the cafeteria with a few inches of water), they went into the kitchen to taunt people. Then, they left for the library

The shot to the ear was the first shot fired, and most likely broke his finger as well. After Daniel pushed a chair at Eric, he shot again. This shot went into his nose, breaking 2 of his upper vertebrae, C2 and C5, among other things. The fracture of the C2 vertebra, according to the autopsy, is what killed him.

Judging by the fact that this comment has been asked quite a bit recently, I need to change it! Nothing was done to Patrick himself, but Dylan set a molotov cocktail on the table, which eventually went off. It did drip off of the table, but was towards the south end of the table, and Patrick was on the north end, so it didn't effect him at all.

This video serves as a visualization of the shooting, which helps people understand the path the shooters took through the shooting, as it can be hard to visualize this mentally. This is also part of a series of "refinement", which involves both accuracy and the animation quality itself. As this particular animation was, for the most part, solely based on the JeffCo diagrams (which extends until "Version 6"), this animation isn't the most accurate, nor is the quality itself the best.

I don’t think people always realise who you are sir, or how much insight you would have. Humans always want to understand I think, I think that’s what draws us to study events and individuals. It’s not even my country but I find myself often thinking back to my own childhood and thinking of the strange and at times overwhelming thoughts I had as a fifteen year old and how stupid they seem now to me as an adult - I personally get lost in wondering if it had been possible to prevent, would they have gone on to think back as adults, with matured brains and find it nonsensical or remain as the characters they chose to die and take lives as? I know my thoughts were fleeting, on a lesser scale and not something I would have acted upon even then but I think most of us, geographically and emotionally removed from the event still find ourselves drawn to trying to comprehend and explain how children cross the barrier from being children into the characters the world now reflects on them as, and inflict such permanent loss intentionally 😔
