    They are immensely strong. I do baby my knives, but it's good to know what they're capable of.

    Whenever I hear someone saying bad things about cold steel knives I just tell them to look at these videos. Great Job Guys!

    Already have the original bead blast Japanese AUS 8A version. Just ordered the new 2015 American Carpenter CTS-BD1 stonewashed version from the Knife Center. I love the Spartan. It's an awesome folder... Peace, Stiletto :)

    I found a video on the cold steel espada in which it is holding 600lbs. It has the same locking system as the spartan. AWESOME!

    I wish you guys had broken it, just so we could all see the real limits to the knife. It's still obviously going to be more durable than most anyone would ever ask of it. I've got one that's supposed to show up tomorrow, by the way. Very excited.

    The only reason why you might want the espada instead, is for the size or looks. It essentially equals the Spartan in strength (both holding 800+ pounds easily), toughness, and sharpness. It's just bigger and shinnier.

    I have a big blade collection. Rajah 2, Espada XL, Sog Tigershark Elite, CS Gurka Kukri SK5, CS Trench Hawk. My favorite is the Rajah 2 and Ghurka Kukri because I use them in the woods camping. I took the Espada XL camping but it chipped on me as I was cutting my way through the woods. I sent it back for repairs. However when used in the kitchen it is the best meat cutting butcher knife I've ever owned. When i get it back I'm using it in the kitchen and locking it in the safe to build valu

    Great thundering fireballs! I knew my Spartan was super strong but I confess I'm shocked at what it could take! Ever test Cold Steel's AL-47? That's my next favorite blade. Love them both. GREAT video, guys!!

    The espadas more asthetic and bigger but it's just about the same toughness as the Spartan.

    I got a cold steel spartan this week. I used it to trim some small 9 (1/4" to 3/8") limbs from a bamboo pole yesterday. When I finished the blade was distorted. It had wave bends in 3 places as if it was made of non tempered soft metal!!!

    I have a CS Spartan for few years now and edc-ing it almost every day (unless the Espada xl,shiny one,has occupied my pocket. I modified it just a little bit...taked of bead blast finish and changed the grind for easier sharpening. It is a great knife,I have to admit ;-) I wonder is there a new version for the market? Or is it possible to order a custom Spartan knife from you,Mr. Demko? I have an idea about almost the same knife,the only difference would be in lenght which would result in a longer handle for easier taking out of the pocket and,yes...this would result in a little bit longer blade (about a half an inch).

    I really dig the looks of this cold steel spartan. What I don't understand is why would you test it by hitting the back of the blade. Consider the fact that you will never hold the knife backwards (unless you're dumb and don't deserve to handle a knife) no matter what you're doing with it. I guess it's all for show right...

  • @ohnevergoingtoquit
    @ohnevergoingtoquit14 жыл бұрын

    @Cowboy3590 firs toff the espada is one of the most amazing knives there is, its oen of the strongest knives there is, its locks can hold 600 pounds, its razor sharp and the its virtually indestructable. this is the specs of the 470 dollar espada though, the espada is an all around better knife, the spartan is cheaper and a great knife
