Cold Steel Spartan

Ойын-сауық

The word Spartan conjures up the vivid history of the battle of Thermopylae, a story of enormous courage in the face of devastating odds. T
he Spartans were a tough breed, trained from childhood in the art of war and inured to most privations, both mental and physical. Engaging them at close quarters was something to be feared and avoided, as their famous Kopis swords struck off arms and legs like a scythe in a wheat field!
Designed by Andrew Demko, the Cold Steel Spartan is quite simply the world's finest folding Kopis,
its hollow ground Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel blade features a sharp recurve edge, big belly and acute point. Its Kopis inspired handle is Injection molded from Grivory, with steel liners for added strength. It's unusual and distinctive handle makes for an exceptionally effective and comfortable grip.
The Spartans thumb plate can be used to open the knife like a conventional "one handed opener" or be snagged on the edge of a pocket during the draw stroke and opened automatically.
Additionally, the Spartan incorporates our Tri-Ad locking mechanism, which has proven, under torture testing to be almost impervious to stress, strain and shock. It's almost impossible to overcome and offers a huge margin of safety not found in our competitor's folders.

    Spartan is by far the most powerful easy to carry knife there is. It has the same effective range as my 6" CounterPoint even with regular grip, and is far more powerful thanks to its Kopis blade and handle. Spartan slides into extended two finger grip instantly and then has even more power and reach, and is still capable of being powerfully thrust. It handles superb both forward or reverse grip and is easy to manipulate and use in either hand, while providing hand protection and weapon retention with powerful whipping and pull through cutting. The point is strong, the lock is strong, it does not fail. Its ultra fast to draw in either forward or reverse, and is easy to securely switch hands with for various weapons configuration as required by situation. Its a great bushcraft knife as well. I practice everyday on dead standing tree's in the forest using my Spartan and Double Agent together, or my cane and either of the knifes, though the Double Agent is best with the cane. I strop them on the same tree's I practice on, then go home and slice clean through junk mail. The Spartan is a great EDC, except at opening mail, it slices it in half easier than opening it, but great for junk mail. The Double Agent is really best for foreward grip fighting, while the Spartan is powerful either way, and can be reverse gripped in three finger extended. Im sure the 6" Rajah or Espada both, are more powerful fighters than the Spartan, but are a lot more to carry and more to invest in. The Spartan is easy to carry draw and use, once a person gets used to handling it. If I fail to expat to Costa Rica, I will invest the Espada XL with polished aluminum grip, and a Rajah 6". Dont buy the Luzon, its a dangerous POS cause liner lock issues. I wont even use mine at all, just keep it for the collection, or sell it to somebody as dumb as I was, to buy a six inch liner lock knife. I can outreach both my Luzon and CounterPoint with my Spartan though. Its because the shape and blades foreward rake. My CounterPoint slides in my hand string with sweat or when wet. The Counterpoint is far less secure and easier to be taken or accidentally lost. I should've been practicing stick and knife fighting all my life and kicking ass everywhere as required with whatever I pick up. I did kick a leg off a table and kick ass with it once though. Drove those assholes off and didn't even get written up for busting government property. I think back to school, and wish Id just kicked everybody's ass, all the time till they kicked me out, fuck all. Should've kicked my Dad's ass too, but I just knocked him down once and apologized while crying, instead of straightening his ass out. I wasted my life. Should've been kicking ass and lighting shit on fire everywhere, all the time, everyday. Hope Cold Steel comes out with a flamethrower. I used a make shift flamethrower on my cousin and friends when I ran out of BB's once. I set them up. Then I was shooting them with their own guns and yelling for them to drop and roll. Fuckers should've left me alone. They never learned, though, and were a lot of fun.

    That's an awesome blade, out of the box it was so sharp that I could shave myself no problem. However I don't reccomend recreating these tests, as I went chopping some fresh bamboo and after I cut some small bamboos the blade bent a little bit after 2 or 3 powerful hits on a the big one. It still shaves at most points of the blade and luckily it took damage only like 3cm or like 1.2 inches away from handle, so it won't effect it's cutting abilities, but also the razor edge took a bit of a beating at some spots. It's very good, but it's not a hachet, it's still a folding knife!

  • @taitrunkl7086

    @taitrunkl7086

    3 жыл бұрын

    Oh, and there was absolutely 0 damage to the lock, it's very very strong. I think you will literally destroy the blade before the lock breaks so it definitely has a tough tough locking mechanism. It's very hard to push and if you keep opening and closing it it will start to hurt your fingers, but for the purpase I think this is not a big problem.

    Hallo zusammen hab ne Frage zu dem Messer. Hab mir heute das Spartan von der Seite knivesandtools.de bestellt. Mir ist aufgefallen das auf manchen Modellen bei Griffnähe, CTS BD1 (bezeichnung des Stahls) steht und bei manchen nicht. Der stahl wurde 2015 von Coldsteel geändert und somit verbessert. Habe in verschiedenen Videos gesehen das es bei manchen Messern draufsteht und bei manchen nicht. Bei knivesandtools steht das es der neue Stahl ist sprich der CTS BD1 aber es steht auf der Klinge nicht drauf. Habe nun bedenken, dass ich mir die ältere Version davon zugelegt habe. Kann mir wer dazu was sagen,erklären? Wäre echt nett danke im Vorraus

    If that is your thing buy a saber. Cold steel sells different models but the saber was the ultimate weapon until revolvers came around. They were used all the way to WW2.
