Setting The Scene
For this cold email tutorial, we'll be acting as if I was a brand new sales development rep working at a software company. Let's say it's my responsibility to send cold emails and do sales prospecting to generate meetings and eventually close deals.
Find a Specific Pain Point
The first thing I would do as a new sales or business development representative is to reach out to the appropriate people on my team, whether its other salespeople, product, marketing, etc. and ask questions to understand why our customers buy. For lead generation and sales prospecting with cold email, you're typically looking for specific pain points your product or service can solve.
Write The First Email
Once you've identified the critical pain ports your sales prospects experience, the next step in the lead generation process is to write your cold email. For this cold email, you'll want to use my Pain Formula Cold Email Template.
Refine
Once you send out your first cold email campaigns, you'll need to see what worked and what didn't work. As you start talking to more sales prospects over the phone, pay attention to what got them interested in taking your sales call. Take the parts that worked well, refine and tune your cold email to make them sharper and resonate more with your prospects. Next, repeat the cycle, and you'll see your response rates increase over time.

    Patrick, Watching your videos have taught me a lot about what I've been doing for the past months. I've been watching the wrong people talk about things they have no idea what they're talking about. In other words, I've been wasting a lot of time watching people talk about "nothing". You get to the point, expose the problem and propose a solution. Simple and powerful. You are the top "predator" in the B2B lead generation world. Congratulations and thanks a lot!

  • @patrickdang

    Appreciate the support! When you're looking to improve your cold emails, you'll want to A/B test different parts of the email. For example, having two different subject lines and see which get better results. On the next campaign, build a list of similar prospects and take the winning subject line from the first campaign, and create another variation of that subject line to see if that performs better. You can do this for any part of the cold email from: subject line, first line, pain, solution, call to action, etc. Also, when prospects decide to take a meeting with you, ask them what got them interested in taking the meeting. From there, you'll get a better understand of what works and put more emphasis on those points in the next cold email campaign. Hope that helps.

Secondly, being a v small scale business , not having zoom info, or any lead discovery s/w , how do you find out phone numbers of the lead, apart from the calling out front desk, which is annoying cause at times they do not connect you to the stakeholders? Also I am grateful to your teaching, they are really so valuable, to the point, makes one feel, it is not tough, if u decided you can really do it Keep up !

The presenter did a great job explaining the concepts in a clear and concise manner. In my opinion, the best tool to send cold emails is BulkResponse. It offers a range of features such as email design, automation, reporting, and a drag-and-drop email builder that make it easy to create and send effective cold emails. Additionally, its robust deliverability infrastructure and practices ensure maximum email delivery, increasing the chances of your cold emails being seen and acted upon.

  • @patrickdang

    @patrickdang

    3 жыл бұрын

    Tuesday through Thursday works best for me. But Monday and Friday will still get good results from my experience. For some campaigns, sometimes the day doesn't make a statistical difference. The best way to know what works for you and your specific sale is to send it on all the days and look at the data to see what's working. You might find that Monday's actually work best for you. So make sure you're using some kind of software to track your cold emails.

    Go on review websites like G2 and see what people are saying about your competitors. Make a list of all your competitions' weaknesses to see if their weaknesses are big enough problems that they might be willing to completely replace that software with an alternative (aka your software). So when you're writing cold emails or cold calling, you're going to use these known pains as talking points. If the person actually has that pain, they suddenly become much more open to talking to you.
