Stardust was totally underrated, as a character. They simply booked him wrongly, making him not seriously champion, if you get what I mean. Stardust was comedy but was also tricky and like a deceitful villain in a brilliant disguise, or at least that's how I was looking at him at that time. The alchemy with his brother as Goldust , who's entrance was like Hollywood's Oscars quality production and among the very best in WWE history by the way, was insane and tremendously entertaining, not to mention the in-ring talent of both. I truly believe WWE should have given them all the possible titles starting with the tag Team titles and the WWE Heavyweight Championship to one of them, creating some jealousy between them too. Imagine Stardust having the title match, a title triple match, and the victory with Goldust becoming upset because missing the most important gold and snapping against his own brother into a heel turn completely out of nowhere and showing himself super vicious... that's how I've always imagined their run should have been. A missed opportunity there, in my opinion.

Cody himself liked it initially, especially at the start, cuz they initially planned the character to be like Cable from X-Men..But Vince made him more of like Goldust and Cody was put in the shadow of his brother's character.

@@dangrahamdrums Use your head one of the reasons people liked the pipe bomb was because people thought it was unscripted and out of Vince’s control. People believed it was just Punk speaking his mind without the limitations of that of Vince and Triple H.

"It was just a line in a promo really" - cm punk. When asked about something he said during the famous pipe bomb. Its funny that people think he's not fictional character like everyone else. I guess that shows why he is the best in the world.

Did people really think WWE was going to hand Punk a mic, let him out on live TV and tell him to say whatever he wants? Neither they nor any other promotion with TV time would let anyone do that let alone someone who has been openly hostile. People talk about how that promo made Punk well yeah thats what it was suppose to do because the bigger Punk got the more money WWE made. Just like how when people blamed Vince for the screw job WWE went with it and made the greatest heel character of all time.

Obviously it was part of the show. Punk’s contract was coming to an end and he told Vince that he had no intention of re-signing with the company. So that day Vince told Punk to go out and speak his mind with however he liked similar to the Heyman promo in 2001.

I loved Stardust. Not ashamed.

I have no ill will towards the guy, so I mean no disrespect when I put it this way, but I’m surprised that of anyone on this channel, I find that Cody tells the best stories. Or I find him to be the most entertaining/relatable storyteller, I guess I should say. That’s a sharp, funny, chill-ass dude. Definitely Dusty’s kid, even if you have to kind of squint to see it.

It sucks how scripted the pipebimb was, but truly thinking about it. There's no way something like that would happen on live TV without any tech head getting screamed at to turn his mic off lol. Also it's wrestling. Everything is scripted, but damn they got me back then xD

Not sure why it's such a big surprise about the pipe bomb thing. It's PROFESSIONAL wrestling. HHH is a professional. He wants the best ratings/reactions. Personally I liked CM Punk before he was "the man." The whole Straight Edge Society stuff was great. I'm really surprised how he stayed big with the fans after he failed at the UFC stuff. To me, that just shoots your credibility way down once everyone knows you can legit get your ass kicked by the lowest ranked UFC fighters. I credit Paul Heyman more with all the hype around CM Punk than Punk himself actually.

Not the best story teller in interviews but he is amazing at telling a story in a wrestling ring!!!!😬

I don't know what it is, but he's normally VERY good at telling stories in interviews. This one was just...everywhere.

So what about the pipebomb?

If Cody doesn't show up in WWE than they're gonna lose a ton of fans. WWE has been letting rumors fly around as if they're true and so far nothing has been. Stone Cold is only showing up on the KO show instead of returning to the ring. Okada obviously was never gonna show up in the Royal Rumble because he would pick AEW. Elimination Chamber and Royal Rumble were among the worst in history. Now the name change with Mania and the same old match with Reigns and Lesnar but for both titles.. How is Cody gonna actually save this trainwreck?

Punk is overrated. Without the Pipebomb and WWE's stupid way of ending things, he would be just another wrestler, maybe a very talented one, but there a lot of talents in the wrestling world. He was not there to build AEW, he went there, when AEW was already succesful and he took screentime from other wrestlers who worked hard to earn their spot.

From an ability to get over point of view no he's not. People don't seem to get that Goldust should have been a career killer but Dustin was so good he made a 2 decade career out of it. Just like how Undertaker was able to still be this supernatural character even when WWE when realistic. The men behind them were just that good. Cody is good in the ring but he could never get over like his brother could.
