one note about every nation being super antisemitic, America turned away a lot of Jews post war (my family lucked out and got to America by being able to leave Austria before the height of the war). this actually was the start of the US supporting the awful settler-colonial project of Israel. Truman and the US had no desire for us Jews so they just thought to move us to Palestine and continue the existing English colonial settlement (not to absolve the Jewish people who participated in this colonization of blame, but you get the point, creation of Israel was rooted in the antisemitism of not wanting Jews in the US) sorry for the rant, lived this episode!!
All of these have been great so far, but this 2-parter was the best of all of them. I will never not hear Hoots’ French accent when I think of Coco Chanel and I love that for us.
I love this podcast but could you please add the occasional picture of some of the people, organisations, etc. Maybe even make few visual jokes but mainly because it would be super nice to sometimes get a picture just so I could have a better mental picture. I know it's extra labour but yeah It would help a lot. Thank U and keep up the amazing work!

@@MainelyMandythe instagram option isn’t really doable when you’re listening to old episodes :( i just got into the podcast this month and tbh i just don’t want to scroll through 1-2 yrs of posts 😅
I don't like choosing favorites but, part two definitely cause me to veer more wildly on my morning commute compared to part 1. Thanks for the laughs Hoot!
Momo Machel made me laugh. Momo is my cat's name.
Hey guys! Don't know if you realize it, but the links on this page are all to the photos from the first episode. There aren't any links for the pictures you talked about in this one.
I would for sure buy a "Chanel Number Five For My Family" bag
Fun Fact: I'm not sure about other opioids, but heroin in particular can have restorative effects on the skin, keeping the person's skin appearing like it did when they started the habit. Not sure about the specifics of why but perhaps a crippling morphine addiction was Coco Chanel's skincare secret.
9:30 yes, "LIVE" on stage!
at around the 39 min mark audio starts cutting out intermittently. I checked the rss feed episode, same thing on it as well.

I'm at 10:00 and can't believe you three basically are describing my funeral plans! I know this was posted a year ago but the coincidence is awesome. I'm *not* joking, I have receipts! (I have a friend who specifically asked to be the one to knock over my coffin, but what's over two decades of friendship compared to social media influencers/podcasters?) Literally drag my corpse please! I don't have money, but Caelan I can leave you my limited edition Ani stuff in my will.
23:25 THEY'RE SO CHARMING! 😍🤩👄👄👄😘😘😘😙😚😗😽💋❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
I had to watch this one because y'all kept quoting coco in other episodes and at first I thought you were quoting Koko the chimp 😂😂
Does that Hitchcock episode no longer exist?
35:00 of effin course it was well received by the American and British press 🤢
I wouldn't call Vichy a "puppet government". They did way more than what was expected by the Nazis.
Just realized you've done two shows about Cocos. (Technically one Coco and one Koko, but still.) Are there more dead Cocos who needs some disrespect? This could be a running gag.
I don't know if it's Chanel #5 but there's a scene in one of my favorite films, Breakfast on Pluto, where the lead character uses perfume as a knockout thing, iconic
"If the nazi shoe fits"? I think you mean "If the jackboot fits" :P
what was the point of splitting this episode in half if it was just going to be uploaded within a day anyway

The point was so that it wasn't a 2.5hr episode.
